06 MI. The linear signal cancellation performance of Verasonics scanner was comparable with Philips iU22 scanner in focused AM mode and on average 3 dB better than Philips iU22 scanner in focused PI mode.Breast cancer is one of the most diagnosed types of cancer worldwide. Volumetric ultrasound breast imaging, combined with MRI can improve lesion detection rate, reduce examination time, and improve lesion diagnosis. However, to our knowledge, there are no 3D US breast imaging systems available that facilitate 3D US - MRI image fusion. In this paper, a novel Automated Cone-based Breast Ultrasound System (ACBUS) is introduced. The system facilitates volumetric ultrasound acquisition of the breast in a prone position without deforming it by the US transducer. Quality of ACBUS images for reconstructions at different voxel sizes (0.25 and 0.50 mm isotropic) was compared to quality of the Automated Breast Volumetric Scanner (ABVS) (Siemens Ultrasound, Issaquah, WA, USA) in terms of signal-to-noise ratio (SNR), contrast-to-noise ratio (CNR), and resolution using a custom made phantom. The ACBUS image data were registered to MRI image data utilizing surface matching and the registration accuracy was quantified using an internal marker. The technology was also evaluated in vivo. The phantom-based quantitative analysis demonstrated that ACBUS can deliver volumetric breast images with an image quality similar to the images delivered by a currently commercially available Siemens ABVS. We demonstrate on the phantom and in vivo that ACBUS enables adequate MRI-3D US fusion. To our conclusion, ACBUS might be a suitable candidate for a second-look breast US exam, patient follow-up, and US guided biopsy planning. In this paper, we propose a binarized detection learning method (BiDet) for efficient object detection. Conventional network binarization methods directly quantize the weights and activations in one-stage or two-stage detectors with constrained representational capacity, so that the information redundancy in the networks causes numerous false positives and degrades the performance significantly. Specifically, we generalize the information bottleneck (IB) principle to object detection, where the amount of information in the high-level feature maps is constrained and the mutual information between the feature maps and object detection is maximized. Meanwhile, we learn sparse object priors so that the posteriors are concentrated on informative detection prediction with false positive elimination. We further present binary neural networks with automatic information compression (AutoBiDet) to automatically adjust the IB trade-off for each input according to the amount of contained information. Moreover, we further propose the class-aware sparse object priors by assigning different sparsity to objects in various classes, so that the false positives are alleviated more effectively without recall decrease. Extensive experiments on the PASCAL VOC and COCO datasets show that our BiDet and AutoBiDet outperform the state-of-the-art binarized object detectors by a sizable margin.Skilled motor behavior requires rapidly integrating external sensory input with information about internal state to decide which movements to make next. Using machine learning approaches for high-resolution kinematic analysis, we uncover the logic of a rapid decision underlying sensory-guided locomotion in mice. After detecting obstacles with their whiskers mice select distinct kinematic strategies depending on a whisker-derived estimate of obstacle location together with the position and velocity of their body. Although mice rely on whiskers for obstacle avoidance, lesions of primary whisker sensory cortex had minimal impact. While motor cortex manipulations affected the execution of the chosen strategy, the decision-making process remained largely intact. These results highlight the potential of machine learning for reductionist analysis of naturalistic behaviors and provide a case in which subcortical brain structures appear sufficient for mediating a relatively sophisticated sensorimotor decision.Social media serves as a key mechanism for sexual minority young adults to connect with peers and to learn about COVID-19. mTOR inhibitor We utilized focus groups to explore how sexual minority gender expansive college women (N= 28) engage with social media, including alcohol-related content on social networking sites. Two focus groups were held in-person during the month before the campus closed on March 10, 2020 due to a shelter-in-place mandate. Focus groups were then moved online, and also assessed how engagement with social media, including alcohol-related content, changed in response to COVID-19 at one month and two months into shelter-in-place. Using social media to connect with sexual and gender minority (SGM) content and community was a prominent theme across the three cohorts of data collection. Social drinking via social networking sites became increasingly prominent during shelter-in-place as a way to combat isolation, boredom, and the general stress of coping with COVID-19.Previous studies have shown that ambivalent gender attitudes are associated with attitudes toward homosexuals. However, most of these studies have primarily considered ambivalent attitudes toward women and attitudes toward gay men, and have been carried out in countries with progressive laws regarding homosexuality. In this study, we examined the connection between ambivalent attitudes toward men and women and attitudes toward gay men and lesbian women in countries with conservative sexual legislation. In the first study, participants were residents of Russia (N = 163) and Kazakhstan (N = 194), while the second study used residents of Russia (N = 496) and Belarus (N = 123). Results indicated that benevolent attitudes predicted attitudes toward gays and lesbians better than the hostile ones. At the same time, attitudes toward men and women similarly predicted attitudes toward gays and lesbians. These patterns were manifested among different components of attitudes toward homosexuals. The results are discussed within the social context of the countries.
