By using archival material, medical records and oral history interviews with former patients and health professionals, I demonstrate how social aspects not only underpinned diagnostic evaluations but were an integral component of the entire therapeutic regime. Sex reassignment became an integrative way of imagining and practicing psychiatry as social medicine. The article specifically unpacks the social element of these diagnostic and therapeutic approaches in trans medicine. Because the locus of intervention and treatment remained the individual, an approach with subversive potential ended up reproducing the norms that caused illness in the first place "the social" became a conformist tool to help the patient integrate, adjust to and transform the pathology-producing forces of society.Long-term continuous cropping is a common practice in facility vegetable production, which has an adverse effect on cucumber yield and quality. Soil fungi are of great significance for creating a normal soil ecological environment. However, the impact of continuous cropping on cucumber quality and soil fungal community has yet to be understood. In this study, we evaluated the effects of continuous cropping on cucumber using high-throughput sequencing technology. The results showed that the extension of continuous cropping would increase nitrate and total acidity of cucumber, while the contents of vitamin C (VC), soluble sugar, and protein were decreased. SGCCBP30 The increase of continuous cropping duration also reduced the fungal diversity of the cucumber soil. For example, the activity of three dominant fungal phylums, Ascomycota, Aphelidiomycota, and Basidiomycota, decreased with the extension of planting years. Our study provides a theoretical basis for the understanding of the impact of continuous cropping in cucumber facilities.Several drugs have poor oral bioavailability due to low or incomplete absorption which is affected by various effects as pH, motility of GI, and enzyme activity. The gastroretentive drug delivery systems are able to deal with these problems by prolonging the gastric residence time, while increasing the therapeutic efficacy of drugs. Previously, we developed a novel technology to foam hot and molten dispersions on atmospheric pressure by a batch-type in-house apparatus. Our aim was to upgrade this technology by a new continuous lab-scale apparatus and confirm that our formulations are gastroretentive. At first, we designed and built the apparatus and continuous production was optimized using a Box-Behnken experimental design. Then, we formulated barium sulfate-loaded samples with the optimal production parameters, which was suitable for in vivo imaging analysis. In vitro study proved the low density, namely 507 mg/cm3, and the microCT record showed high porosity with 40 μm average size of bubbles in the molten suspension. The BaSO4-loaded samples showed hard structure at room temperature and during the wetting test, the complete wetting was detected after 120 min. During the in vivo study, the X-ray taken showed the retention of the formulation in the rat stomach after 2 h. We can conclude that with our device low-density floating formulations were prepared with prolonged gastric residence time. This study provides a promising platform for marketed active ingredients with low bioavailability.We report the first confirmed record of a SARS-CoV-2 immunity loss and reinfection for the Amazon region and for Brazil by the same virus lineage. We raise the possibility of a recessive genotype in the Amazonian population that does not generate an immune memory response to SARS-CoV-2.The shell surrounding fruits of the jatobá-do-cerrado tree, in its natural state, was modified by the addition of HNO3 and NaOH and used as an adsorbent in the removal of Cu(II) and Ni(II) from aqueous solutions. The untreated (JIN) and chemically modified (JCT) fruit shell samples were characterized by Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy (SEM), thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), and X-ray diffraction. Their efficiency as adsorbents in the removal of Cu(II) and Ni(II) ions from aqueous solutions was studied under different conditions of pH (2-9) and it was observed that the optimal pH for Cu (II) adsorption was 5.5 and for Ni (II) it was 6.0. The adsorption isotherms were obtained at different temperatures (298, 308, 318 K) and the qmax values ranged from 33.96 to 41.00 mg g-1. The adsorbents presented higher selectivity toward Cu ions (II). The thermodynamic analysis results suggest that the adsorption process studied is of a physical nature. Supported by quantum mechanical calculations, the interaction sites of the ion-cellulose and ion-lignin complexes were identified, evidencing the central role of water molecules in stabilization of the complexes.
