Atypical free-floating iridociliary colored epithelial growths and extra glaucoma in the caiman (Caiman latirostris).
The change in Lym% & HGB was more prominent than those in Lym% and HBG.

The joint parameter Lym% & HGB could serve as an effective tool for differentiating severe and nonsevere COVID-19, and its sensitivity and specificity are higher than those of Lym% or HGB alone.

The global mortality rate for coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) is 3.68%, but the mortality rate for critically ill patients is as high as 50%. Therefore, the exploration of prognostic predictors for patients with COVID-19 is vital for prompt clinical intervention. Our study aims to explore the predictive value of hematological parameters in the prognosis of patients with severe COVID-19.

Ninety-eight patients who were diagnosed with COVID-19 at Jingzhou Central Hospital and Central Hospital of Wuhan, Hubei Province, were included in this study.

The median age of the patients was 59 [28-80] years; the median age of patients with a good prognosis was 56 [28-79] years, and the median age of patients with a poor outcome was 67 [35-80] years. The patients in the poor outcome group were older than the patients in the good outcome group (P<0.05). The comparison of hematological parameters showed that lymphocyte count (Lym#), red blood cells (RBCs), hemoglobin (HGB), hematocrit (HCT), mean corpuscular volgical parameters of COVID-19 patients were statistically analyzed. RDW was found to be a prognostic predictor for patients with severe COVID-19, and the increase in RET may contribute to elevated RDW.

Rap1GAP is a tumor suppressor and is downregulated in human malignancies including papillary thyroid cancer (PTC). The mechanism of its suppression in PTC remains unclear.

Bioinformatic analyses were carried out to evaluate clinical significance and to predict upstream miRNA bindings of Rap1GAP. Three PTC cell lines, TPC-1, B-CPAP, and K1, were employed for functional verification and further experiments. We used dual-luciferase reporter gene assay to confirm the miRNA binding prediction, Western blotting and quantitative polymerase chain reaction (qPCR) to explore miRNA and Rap1GAP regulation, Transwell and wound healing assays to compare cell migration and invasion after protein knockout or overexpression, and Cell Counting Kit-8 (CCK-8) assay to evaluate cell proliferation.

Rap1GAP expression was suppressed in thyroid cancer compared to adjacent normal tissues and was a potential diagnostic marker of PTC. Rap1GAP suppression was correlated to younger age, advanced T stage, N stage, extrathyroidal extgnaling pathway may be involved in this effect.
Differential expression of tumor protein 53 (TP53, or p53) has been observed in multiple cancers. However, the expression levels and prognostic role of TP53 signaling pathway genes in Wilms' tumor (WT) have yet to be fully explored.

The expression levels of TP53 signaling pathway genes including TP53, mouse double minute 2 (MDM2), mouse double minute 4 (MDM4), cyclin-dependent kinase 2A (CDKN2A), cyclin-dependent kinase 2B (CDKN2B), and tumor suppressor p53-binding protein 1 (TP53BP1) in WT were analyzed using the Oncomine database. Aberration types, co-mutations, mutation locations, signaling pathways, and the prognostic role of TP53 in WT were investigated using cBioPortal. MicroRNA (miRNA) and transcription factor (TF) targets were identified with miRTarBase, miWalk, and ChIP-X Enrichment Analysis 3 (CheA3), respectively. A protein-protein network was constructed using GeneMANIA. The expression of TP53 signaling genes were confirmed in WT samples and normal kidney tissues using the Human Protein Atlas he small molecules targeting TP53 included PRIMA-1, RITA, SJ-172550, and SCH-529074.

TP53 was found to be differentially expressed in WT tissues. TP53 mutations indicated poor outcomes of WT. Therefore, pifithrin-mu, PRIMA-1, RITA, SJ-172550, and SCH-529074 could be used in combination with traditional chemotherapy to treat WT.

Fluoroscopic guidance is the traditional method for the implantation of transvenous temporary cardiac pacemakers (TVTPs). This study aimed to compare the time, effectiveness, and safety of real-time three-dimensional transesophageal echocardiography (3D TEE) with those of fluoroscopy in guiding TVTP implantation.

The records of patients who underwent transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI) guided by real-time 3D TEE or fluoroscopy between July 1, 2016, and June 30, 2020, were retrospectively analyzed. TVTPs were implanted by anesthesiologists via the right internal jugular vein (IJV) in the real-time 3D TEE-guided group (3D TEE group), and by interventional cardiologists via the femoral vein in the fluoroscopy-guided group (fluoro group).

A total of 143 patients (3D TEE-group n=79, and fluoro group n=64) were included. No statistical differences were observed in the baseline characteristics of the two groups. Sunitinib datasheet TVTPs were successfully implanted in all of the patients. The needle-to-pace time was si TVTP implantation in patients undergoing cardiac surgery.
Real-time 3D TEE-guided can be used to effectively, quickly, and safely guide TVTP implantation. The procedure can be performed by properly trained anesthesiologists. Therefore, real-time 3D TEE is a suitable option for guiding perioperative TVTP implantation in patients undergoing cardiac surgery.
Patients with anaplastic thyroid cancer (ATC), which is among the deadliest of all cancers, often have a poor response to traditional therapies. Currently, the role of long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) in ATC carcinogenesis is unclear. In this study, we analyzed the lncRNA expression profile of ATC with the aim of identifying potential molecular targets for treatment of the disease.

Whole transcriptome sequencing of three ATC and two normal thyroid (NT) samples was performed, and the lncRNA expression profile of ATC was analyzed. Original data as well as datasets deposited in the Gene Expression Omnibus (GEO) and The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) were used for clinical validation. Cell proliferation, Transwell, and apoptosis assays were performed using ATC cell lines. Gene Ontology (GO) and gene set enrichment analyses (GSEA) were performed to determine the dysregulated pathways.

Whole transcriptome sequencing revealed 182 lncRNAs to be differentially expressed in ATC. One of the lncRNAs, mitotically associated long non-coding RNA (
; LINC00704), was significantly overexpressed in ATC cell lines and patient samples compared with NT and papillary thyroid cancer (PTC).
