Using an endoscopic robotic approach, the stent was successfully extracted from the beating heart.Acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) is one of the main causes of high mortality among coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) patients. This study aimed at determining the association between presence of chronic diseases and smoking behaviors with the development of ARDS among hospitalized COVID-19 patients in Indonesia. This study was carried out in 15 Muhammadiyah-'Aisyiyah-affiliated COVID-19 referral hospitals in Indonesia. Four hundred ninety participants who tested positive for the COVID-19 were recruited in this study. Demographic data, history of chronic diseases, and the development of ARDS were retrieved from hospital patient records. Information about the smoking behavior was collected after respondents were discharged from the hospital. Presence of chronic diseases such as diabetes, chronic heart disease, hypertension, and chronic liver diseases were significantly associated with the development of ARDS. In a similar regard, patients who currently smoked had a 5 times greater risk of developing ARDS compared with those who never smoked.
The objective of this work is to discuss and analyze the related factors of lower extremity fracture complicated by preoperative deep vein thrombosis (DVT).

A total of 11,891 patients with closed fractures of lower extremities were selected. By analyzing each patient's gender, age, presence or absence of diabetes and hypertension, preoperative plasma D-dimer level, and color Doppler ultrasound of the lower extremity vein, the pertinent factors of the patients with lower extremity fractures complicated by preoperative DVT were analyzed.

A total of 578 with preoperative DVT were detected, displaying a total incidence of 4.86%. All patients were categorized into either the DVT group or non-DVT group. The results demonstrate that there were statistically significant differences between the 2 groups in age, the presence of diabetes and hypertension, the fracture site, and the preoperative plasma D-dimer level (
< 0.05). Our study aims to explore the underlying burden of depression and its related factors among health care workers in South Asian countries. Data was collected through an online survey. A total of 476 health care workers including doctors, nurses, and paramedical staff participated from Pakistan, India, and Sri Lanka. Documenting advance care planning (ACP) in primary care requires multiple triggers. New Medicare codes make it easier for providers to bill for these encounters. This study examines the use of patient and provider reminders to trigger advance care planning discussions in a primary care practice. Secondary outcome was billing of new ACP billing codes.

Patients 75 years and older scheduled for a primary care appointment were screened for recent ACP documentation in their chart. If none was found, an electronic or mail message was sent to the patient, and an electronic message to their provider, about the need to have discussion at the upcoming visit. Chart review was performed 3 months after the visit to determine if new ACP discussion was documented in the chart.

In the 3 months after the reminder had been sent to patients and providers, new ACP documentation or billing was found in 28.8% of the patients. Most new documentation was health care decision maker (75.6% of new documentation) with new DNR orders placed for 32.3% of these patients. The new Medicare billing code was filled 10 times (7.8%).

Participants were 82 adolescents (70% male, 78% non-Hispanic White) aged 13 to 17 years (M = 15.01) diagnosed with attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (77% predominantly inattentive presentation) and parents. CABI scale scores showed moderate (rs = .42 to .49) to substantial (rs = .62 to .91) convergent correlations with scores from similar measures. CABI scale scores also showed significant discriminant validity (convergent correlation significantly larger than discriminant correlation) with the scores on the other measures. These findings provide additional support for use of the CABI in research and clinical practice, and copies of the scale and norms are freely available.
