Yttria doped ZrO2 was deposited using an acidic zinc phosphatizing solution and the hydrothermal treatment. The coating was analyzed using a field emission-scanning electron microscope (FE-SEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD), energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDX) and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). A piston on three balls (ISO 6872) was used for the measurement of biaxial flexural strength. MC3T3-E1 cells attachment was evaluated by SEM, and cell proliferation were assessed using MTS assay™. SEM images confirmed that the zinc phosphate coating layer was successfully prepared and fully covered the surface. Abexinostat cost The measured adhesive strength of the coating was 79.11 MPa. In vitro cell study indicated that the coated sample had better cell morphology and proliferation. XRD and EDS analysis revealed that the crystalline coating structure indexed as zinc phosphate (hopeite) and the substrate was assigned as zirconia. The flexural strength test showed that the strength of zirconia before and after hydrothermal treatment was not affected. The objective of this study was to clarify the fatigue behavior of hollow yttria-stabilized tetragonal zirconia polycrystals (Y-TZP) specimens assuming its use for two-piece implants. The fatigue properties of a solid specimen (which simulated a one-piece implant) and 3 types of hollow specimens (which simulated two-piece implants) were evaluated. Specimens were either solid with a diameter of 4.0 mm (S) or hollow with an inner diameter of 3.0 mm and outer diameters of 4.0 mm (H0.5), 4.5 mm (H0.75), or 5.0 mm (H1.0). For each group, 25 specimens were prepared followed by blast and acid etch treatment. Static fracture and cyclic fatigue tests were conducted by modifying the methods provided in ISO6872. Fracture modes were determined by observing the surfaces under a scanning electron microscope. As a result, the cyclic fatigue load of S and H1.0 were similar, and hollow specimens with outer diameters greater than 0.75 mm displayed the ability to withstand molar occlusal forces.Nonhuman primates are commonly used as experimental animals due to their biological resemblance to humans. In patients with cardiac disease, the levels of atrial natriuretic peptide (ANP) and brain natriuretic peptide (BNP) tend to increase in response to cardiac damage, and they are thus used as indicators for the diagnosis of human heart failure. However, no reference values for ANP and BNP have been reported for heart disease in nonhuman primates. In this study, we recorded the age, sex, and body weight of 202 cynomolgus monkeys, and performed evaluations to assess the ANP and BNP levels, electrocardiography and echocardiography, and accordingly divided the monkeys into two groups healthy monkeys and those with spontaneous cardiac disease. Statistical analysis was performed to determine the relationship of ANP and BNP with the factors of age, sex, and body weight. No significant relationship was found between the levels of ANP and BNP and the factors of age, sex, and body weight. However, both the ANP and BNP levels were significantly different between the healthy monkeys and monkeys with valvular disease. Similar to humans, the ANP and BNP levels tended to increase with the progression of cardiac disease in monkeys. Based on these results, we concluded that ANP and BNP are indicators of cardiac disease in nonhuman primates, and that this nonhuman primate cardiac disease model is applicable for cardiology research in humans.Texture analysis, as well as its broader category radiomics, describes a variety of techniques for image analysis that quantify the variation in surface intensity or patterns, including some that are imperceptible to the human visual system. Cerebral gliomas have been most rigorously studied in brain tumors using MR-based texture analysis (MRTA) to determine the correlation of various clinical measures with MRTA features. Promising results in cerebral gliomas have been shown in the previous MRTA studies in terms of the correlation with the World Health Organization grades, risk stratification in gliomas, and the differentiation of gliomas from other brain tumors. Multiple MRTA studies in gliomas have repeatedly shown high performance of entropy, a measure of the randomness in image intensity values, of either histogram- or gray-level co-occurrence matrix parameters. Similarly, researchers have applied MRTA to other brain tumors, including meningiomas and pediatric posterior fossa tumors. However, the value of MRTA in the clinical use remains undetermined, probably because previous studies have shown only limited reproducibility of the result in the real world. The low-to-modest generalizability may be attributed to variations in MRTA methods, sampling bias that originates from single-institution studies, and overfitting problems to a limited number of samples. To enhance the reliability and reproducibility of MRTA studies, researchers have realized the importance of standardizing methods in the field of radiomics. Another advancement is the recent development of a comprehensive assessment system to ensure the quality of a radiomics study. These two-way approaches will secure the validity of upcoming MRTA studies. The clinical use of texture analysis in brain MRI will be accelerated by these continuous efforts. The present study focuses on social stressors at work and the development of physical symptoms in social workers on a daily basis. In a seven-day diary study it was anticipated that daily rumination functions as a mediator, linked to additional daily physical symptoms in individuals. Before and after work, 81 social workers completed daily questions on social stressors, rumination, and physical symptoms. Multilevel analyses of up to 391 daily measurements revealed that more intense social stressors predicted more rumination, as well as physical symptoms. Rumination anteceded higher physical symptoms. A test of the indirect effects showed a significant indirect path from social stressors at work via rumination to physical symptoms. Hence, it was found that social stressors and rumination contribute to the ongoing health crisis in the social work profession. These findings advance our understanding of the stress mechanisms in social work, as well as point to individual and organizational aspects that occupational health prevention programs should consider.
