Who's The World's Top Expert On EU Driving License Poland Costs?
How Much Does an EU Driving License Cost?

Everyone wants to have an ideal driving license, that will never expire. The reality is quite different.

The process of obtaining the Polish driver's license is a thorny process. The most important ones are medical examinations, theory and practical lessons. You must also meet the requirements for age of the category for which you're applying for a driving licence.

1. Medical exam

To get your driving license, first obtain a doctor's (orzeczenie lkarskie) confirmation that you're competent to drive. It might sound weird but it's the way things work in Poland. The doctor will ask you a bunch of silly questions about your health, for instance, whether you suffer from problems with your eyesight or any other medical problems but they will not actually examine you at all. The cost for this exam is approximately 200 PLN.

If you're from a country that is a part of the EU, EEA, or an EEA member under the 1968 Vienna Convention on Road Traffic you don't have to take this additional step since your driving license will be recognized as valid in Poland. If you're from a non-member nation, you will need to pass both a theoretical and a practical test, and also an exam for medical certification to obtain an official Polish driving license.

It is possible to pass both of these exams in English. However, it depends on the center. Make kosten führerschein polen to call ahead to check availability before making an appointment. It's also worth noting that if you don't have a sufficient level of Polish to easily ace the test, you'll need to hire an interpreter for the duration of the exam.

Once you have your medical certificate you'll need to go to the district authority to fill out an individual driver profile (PKK – Profil Kandydata na Kierowce). You'll need to submit an image of your passport, proof of your residency in Poland and a current photo in colour.

Then, you enter a special office where they create your personal file and scan your documents to give them to you. You can then begin preparing for your driving tests and then enroll in driving schools. You can find WORD facilities in all major towns and most smaller ones as well but most schools require a payment in order to keep their classes.

2. Theory test

If you hold a driving license issued abroad, it is valid in Poland provided you have an International Driving Permit ('IDP') in addition to it. You will need to have an IDP for any car that you drive in Poland for more than six months. In other cases, it is required to exchange it in exchange for an official Polish driving license. You must satisfy four requirements for the process to be completed You must be a Polish citizen, you must have passed a medical exam and pass a driving test administered by the state and you must have completed your driving lessons in a school approved by the government.

You will need to submit an Driving Candidate Profile, as well as other documents to pass the state driving test. Those include your ID and a health certificate, an approved driving instructor's certificate and an image of your visa or residency permit. The driving test itself consists of two parts: the theoretical part and the practical part. The theoretical part includes thirty-two multiple-choice questions and covers such subjects as road signs traffic laws, emergency procedures and safe driving practices. You must answer correctly at least 26 questions to pass.

The practical portion of your driving test entails driving on a highway that is public under the supervision of a trained instructor. During this period, a driver will evaluate your ability to adhere to the rules of driving particularly in difficult conditions like highways or city streets. The test is about 40 minutes.

Before you can take your state driving test, you need to apply for a PKK at the Province Road Traffic Centers. You'll need your identification document and proof that you have paid the required fee and a picture of yourself. If you don't speak Polish or Polish, you will be accompanied by a professional interpreter during the examination.

3. Practical test

You'll have to pass the practical test if driving with a foreign driver's license. It's a more difficult test than the one for theory, and the rate of passing is lower. You can only take the practical test in the event that you are legally resident of Poland. If you're not, your driving licence will remain indefinitely and when you're stopped by police, you could be fined for driving with an official driver's license.

To take the practical test, you need to fill out an application form in Polish. Google Translate will help. You will also need an official medical certificate that proves you are qualified to drive.

Bring an ID photo and proof of health insurance coverage, along with a recent colour photograph (size 3,5cm x 4,5cm). You will be required to sign up as a driver candidate with the Department of Civil Affairs. This will require you complete a Driving Profile of the Candidate (RKK) to receive a number to use within the system.

The process can be complicated and time-consuming, especially when you're not a native speaker of the Polish language. It is recommended to hire an instructor who speaks English and book your lessons well in advance. There are also driving schools that provide English lessons in certain regions.

The person who is applying for an Polish driver's license has to submit the original copy of their residence permit or visa if they are not EU citizens. This is required to prove that you have resided in Poland for at least the period of 185 days.

The office will also require proof of payment for theory and practical tests. The total cost should be approximately 1500 PLN. Cash payments are accepted but it doesn't guarantee quicker processing of your documents. The entire process takes two to four weeks. In some places, it can be longer. Contact your local office if are not sure of the deadlines.

4. Documents

It is essential for foreigners who want to drive in Poland to get a Polish driving license in order to avoid problems with their insurance for their car. Before they can get this, they must first pass the theoretical test which will cost them. This is easier for foreigners who are citizens of countries that have signed the Vienna Convention on Road Traffic of 1968.

First they must prove that they've lived in Poland for at least six months. This should be confirmed with either a local address registration, a residence permit, or an entry visa. You must also fill out a complete application form. The form can be found on the internet or at a local office. They must also submit an image of recent date that is 35 x 45 millimeters and documents of identification such as a passport. Finally, they must include an official certificate from the health system that states that they do not have any medical contraindications to driving.

Once they have submitted these documents, the voivodship office will prepare their driving licence for issue. This can take up to nine working days. If the case requires extensive testing the wait time could be as long as one month.

A foreign national is also required to submit a copy of his or her medical certificate. It is crucial to have a valid medical certification because without it, the foreigner will be required to retake the theory test, which can extend the time they wait by two months.

Once your driving licence has been completed and issued, you will need to pay an office fee. The fee is 100 PLN (for EU citizens) and 250 PLN (for non-EU citizens). This cost can be paid by bank transfer, debit card or credit card. The driver's license will be mailed to the address at which the applicant lives. If for any reason, the driving license is not issued, an appeal may be filed to the Local Government Appeals Board in Rzeszow through the City Mayor.
