MRI-guided radiation therapy can image a target and irradiate it at the same time. Superparamagnetic iron oxide (SPIO) is a liver-specific contrast agent that can selectively visualize liver tumors, even if plain MRI does not depict them. The purpose of this study was to present a proof of concept of SPIO-enhanced MRI-guided radiation therapy for liver tumor.

MRI-guided stereotactic ablative radiation therapy (SABR) was planned for a patient with impaired renal function who developed liver metastases after nephroureterectomy for ureteral cancer. Because liver metastasis was not visualized on plain MRI, SPIO-enhanced MRI was performed at 0.35 T using true fast imaging with steady-state free precession (true FISP) pulse sequence and SABR was performed. Liver metastasis was clearly visualized by SPIO-enhanced MRI, and MRI-guided SABR was performed without adverse events.

Endometriosis is typically managed with a medical or surgical approach, though some patients have medically refractory disease and are poor surgical candidates.

A 39-year-old woman presented to our facility with uncontrolled bleeding and pain from an endometriotic mass at the vaginal cuff. She had a history of abdominal hysterectomy with bilateral salpingo-oophorectomy, now with medically refractive and inoperable disease due to prior history of vesicovaginal fistula. We prescribed 30 Gy in 10 fractions with 10 MV and 18 MV photons to the target. At follow-up our patient reported a complete resolution of bleeding and pelvic pain.

The aim of the study was to compare the TNM classification with 2-[
F]FDG PE T biological parameters of primary tumor in patients with NSCLC.

Retrospective analysis was performed on a group of 79 newly diagnosed NSCLC patients. PET scans were acquired on Gemini TF PET/CT scanner 60-70 min after injection of 2-[
F]FDG with the mean activity of 364 ± 75 MBq, with the area being examined from the vertex to mid-thigh. The reconstructed PET images were evaluated using MIM 7.0 Software for SUV
, MTV and TLG values.

The analysis of the cancer stage according to TNM 8
edition showed stage IA2 in 8 patients, stage IA3 - 6 patients, stage IB - 4 patients, IIA - 3 patients, 15 patients with stage IIB, stage IIIA - 17 patients, IIIB - 5, IIIC - 5, IVA in 7 patients and stage IVB in 9 patients. The lowest TLG values of primary tumor were observed in stage IA2 (11.31 ± 15.27) and the highest in stage IIIC (1003.20 ± 953.59). The lowest value of primary tumor in SUV
and MTV were found in stage IA2 (6.8 ± 3.8 and 1.37 ± 0.42, respectively), while the highest SUV
of primary tumor was found in stage IIA (13.4 ± 11.4) and MTV in stage IIIC (108.15 ± 127.24).

Varian Medical Systems has introduced a new medical linear accelerator called Halcyon
2.0, which is based on the ring delivery system (RDS). It is a true IGRT machine having 6MV FFF photon energy. In addition to the planar and MV-CBCT imaging techniques it also has an option of ultra-fast kV-iCBCT which enhances the image reconstruction and improves the visualization of soft tissue. The field portals are shaped by a unique dual layer MLC with special stacked and staggered design which enables high modulation with low radiation leakage. Recently, we have commissioned our first Halcyon 2.0 machine. The aim of this work was to systematically investigate various parameters of a newly installed Halcyon
2.0 linear accelerator.

Detailed measurements were conducted as per various guidelines. Also, the measurements were performed to fulfil the national regulatory requirements. Commissioning data of Halcyon 6 MV-FFF beam was performed in a water tank. For absolute measurements, a 0.6-cc waterproof Farmer chamber and electrometer were used. All relative measurements (PDDs, in-line, cross-line and angular profiles) were performed with 0.0125 cc point chamber.

All the tests were within the acceptable limit. Measured data were compared with factory data as well as the existing medical linear accelerator of the same category. The obtained results were quite satisfactory.
