Clinical studies in endodontics are primarily performed in highly controlled environments using strict treatment protocols, inclusion and exclusion criteria, and high success rates have been reported. Most endodontic treatments are, however, performed in private practice, where is has been difficult to obtain similar high success rates. The aim of this pilot project was to evaluate the feasibility of performing practice-based research and to describe baseline information on endodontic procedures used in general practice in Denmark.

The baseline data included information from dental practitioners, collected during 2017-2018. The dentists used the procedures and materials they normally would use. Data were systematized and analysed at Aarhus University.

Seventeen dentists provided information on 581 endodontic treatments. Half of the teeth had initially a necrotic pulp, 20% had a vital pulp and 28% were previously root-filled. Adaptation of contemporary technology such as mechanized instrumentation, use of magnification, seems to be well integrated among the participating dentists.

Overall, the endodontic treatments performed by the participating dentists follow international guidelines for good quality endodontic treatments. It is anticipated, that among Danish dentist there is basis for further practice-based research, but logistic issues need to be addressed.

Improving participation and quality of life is a desirable goal following traumatic brain injury (TBI). The purpose of this systematic review was to summarize existing findings concerning the role of occupational participation for persons with TBI.

A systematic literature search using four electronic databases was followed by a review of all titles and abstracts. Articles were included if the studies were conducted with adults with TBI, used a qualitative methodology and explored the role or meaning of occupations and occupational participation from the perspectives of individuals with TBI. Following data extraction, a thematic synthesis was conducted.

A total of 642 articles were identified, of which 14 m
l inclusion criteria. Three themes related to the role of occupations for people with TBI emerged reflecting on change in occupational performance and occupational participation, occupational adaptation, and individual meaning of occupational participation.

The findings demonstrate the significancepersonal meaning. Rehabilitation professionals should recognize persons with TBI as occupational beings and work with individuals to identify the meaning of important occupations in the process of understanding and adapting to changes in capability, performance and participation. The rehabilitation process should focus on enabling persons to perform and participate in the occupations they want, need or are expected to do in their daily lives. National and regional health care systems should ensure that persons with TBI are provided with appropriate physical, social and institutional support and services in order to achieve meaningful occupational engagement.
Ibuprofen is a drug widely used in children who underwent elective tonsillectomy or adenotonsillectomy because compared to the other Nonsteroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drugs (NSAIDs) it is considered a safe drug with a low risk of postoperative bleeding.

We conducted a systematic review with meta-analysis of randomized clinical trials (RCTs) comparing ibuprofen vs. placebo or not-NSAIDs drugs in children aged up to 17years of age, who underwent elective tonsillectomy or adenotonsillectomy. We searched in MEDLINE, EMBASE and Cochrane from 1990 through 30 April 2019. We searched www.clinicaltrials.gov for relevant ongoing studies. Our primary outcome was postoperative bleeding requiring surgical intervention. Secondary outcomes were postoperative bleeding not requiring further surgical intervention, the need for blood transfusion, nausea, vomiting, prolonged hospital stay, postoperative pain, and adverse events related to ibuprofen administration. The database search yielded 1227 patients from 7 studies.

Given the imprecision of our estimates, the quality of evidence very low/moderate and the few RCTs identified, the results of this analysis were consistent with either a benefit or a detrimental effect of the administration of ibuprofen and do not provide a definitive answer to the review question. Further studies are needed on this important topic.
