Several synthesized compounds exhibited a significant biological effect by ameliorating the eye degeneration. They blocked the neurodegeneration of fly retina at different efficacy levels. The most active CS was compound 9, which is a peptide derivative and was targeted to ER. Another active compound targeted to lysosome was compound 4.
Novel CSs were more effective than 4-PBA; therefore, they might be used as a new class of drug candidates to treat ALS and other protein misfolding disorders.

Anorexia nervosa-restrictive subtype (AN-R) is a life-threatening disorder relying on behavioural abnormalities, such as excessive food restriction or exercise. Such abnormalities may be secondary to an "objectified" attitude toward body image and self. This is the first study exploring the impact of anomalous self-experience (ASEs) on abnormal body image attitude and eating disorder (ED) symptomatology in individuals with AN-R at onset.
We recruited Italian female participants, 40 with AN-R (mean age 18.3 ± 2.3) and 45 age and educational level-matched healthy controls (HCs) (mean age 18.2 ± 2.6). ASEs, body image attitude, and ED symptom severity were assessed through the examination of anomalous self-experience (EASE), the body uneasiness test (BUT), and the eating disorder examination questionnaire (EDE-Q), respectively. We conducted multivariate analysis of variance to investigate distribution patterns of variables of interest, and mediation analysis to test the effect of ASEs and body image on ED symptomatology.
Individuals with AN-R scored higher than HCs on the EASE (p < .0001). A direct effect of ASEs on ED severity (p = 0.009; bootstrapped LLCI = 0.067, ULCI = 0.240) was found in AN-R. N-butyl-N-(4-hydroxybutyl) nitrosamine After modelling the effect of abnormal body image attitude, the relationship between EASE total score and ED symptomatology was significantly mediated by BUT (p = 0.002; bootstrapped LLCI = 0.001, ULCI = 0.172).
Although the exact pathways linking AN-R to self-disorder remain to be identified, a broader exploration of transdiagnostic features in AN, including explorations of different dimensions of self-experience and intersubjectivity, may shed further light on the clinical phenomenology of the disorder.

Diarrhea affects a significant proportion of patients undergoing hematopoietic cell transplantation (HCT). We explored the diagnostic yield of stool cultures for enteric pathogens among patients undergoing HCT.
This is a single-center, retrospective study. Between 5/2007 and 4/2020, consecutive patients who underwent HCT were included if inpatient bacterial stool cultures were collected. Patient characteristics, results, and timing of stool cultures obtained during hospitalization were collected.
A total of 1072 individuals underwent autologous (n = 603) and allogeneic (n = 469) HCT. Overall, 947 stool culture samples were obtained from 561 (52%) patients with diarrheal illness during hospitalization for HCT. Most (99%) samples were obtained beyond 3days of admission, mainly (77%) during neutropenia. Overall, only four (0.42%) (autologous, n = 3; allogeneic, n = 1) patients had a positive stool culture and in all cases Campylobacter spp. were the pathogens identified. The number of stool cultures needed-to-test to diagnose one case of bacterial infection was 237. The cost of diagnosing one case of bacterial diarrhea was US$8770. Patients with a positive stool culture did not have discerning characteristics.
In our experience, the yield of stool cultures for enteropathogens in patients undergoing HCT is extremely low and thus should be avoided in most cases.

The aim of this study is to investigate the relationship between anthropometric measurements and body awareness level of healthy people. The study was carried out with 289 volunteer students between the ages of 18-25 who studied at university. Anthropometric measurements included height, weight, circumference measurements and measurement rates, skinfold thicknesses. In addition, grip strength and lower limb muscle strength was evaluated. The level of body awareness was evaluated by the Body Awareness Questionnaire. The mean age of the participants included in the study was 19.34 ± 1.48. Sixty five percent were female and 35% were male. A negative correlation was found between body weight and body awareness level (p = 0.02). According to the results of canonical correlation analysis, the model created with circumference measurement rates and sub-dimensions of the Body Awareness Questionnaire was found significant. There was significantly correlated between the changes in the body process and attention to responses, which are sub-dimension, and total right measurement of the lower limb (r0.124; p 0.035). In addition, there was a significant relationship between sleep-wakefulness cycle and waist-to-thigh ratios (r- 0.172; p 0.003). Our study showed that body awareness is directly related to body weight, lower limb circumference measurements, and waist-to-thigh ratio. These data revealed the effect of body awareness on anatomical structures.Phantom limb pain (PLP) is a common complaint among patients after amputation, while jumping residual limb is a rare post-amputation complication, they rarely happen at the same time and both remain difficult to manage. At present, there is a paucity of literature on this topic, and no treatment has been proven effective for treating both of them. In the present brief report, we described a patient who developed severe PLP accompanied by jumping residual limb after below-the-knee amputation and she was treated by auricular therapy (AT) with satisfactory effect.
