Due to the insufficient amount of unambiguous literature data and relatively few, often dated, studies carried out with small patient groups, further evaluation of macro- and microelements in burn patients seems indispensable, e.g. to bring up to date local nutritional protocols.Polysomnographic studies conducted to explore sleep changes in idiopathic rapid eye movement sleep behavior disorder (iRBD) have not established clear relationships between sleep disturbances and iRBD. To explore the polysomnographic differences between iRBD patients and healthy controls and their associated factors, an electronic literature search was conducted in EMBASE, MEDLINE, All EBM databases, CINAHL, and PsycINFO inception to December 2019.34 studies were identified for systematic review, 33 of which were used for meta-analysis. Meta-analyses revealed significant reductions in total sleep time (SMD = -0.212, 95%CI -0.378 to -0.046), sleep efficiency (SMD = -0.194, 95%CI -0.369 to -0.018), apnea hypopnea index (SMD = -0.440, 95%CI -0.780 to -0.101), and increases in sleep latency (SMD = 0.340, 95%CI 0.074 to 0.606), and slow wave sleep (SMD = 0.294, 95%CI 0.064 to 0.523) in iRBD patients compared with controls. Furthermore, electroencephalogram frequency components during REM sleep were altered in iRBD patients compared with controls; however, the specific changes could not be determined. Our findings suggest that polysomnographic sleep is abnormal in iRBD patients. A better understanding of this relationship is vital for the development of effective suicide and self-harm interventions. In order to further elucidate and support these findings however, future research utilising longitudinal designs, objective measures of sleep disturbance and investigating the emotional content of nightmares is vital. There is also a call for studies investigating the impact of nightmare interventions on subsequent suicidal thoughts and behaviours, and self-harm. This is especially so given that individuals might find it easier to seek help for nightmares than for suicidality or self-harm.Cognitive behavioural therapy for insomnia (CBT-I) is a promising intervention with established efficacy, yet evidence of its cost-effectiveness remains unclear. Systematic searches were conducted in Medline, Psychinfo, ProQuest, Cochrane, Scopus, CINAHL, Web of Science and Emcare. Titles and abstracts were screened against eligibility criteria, and studies reporting full economic evaluations of CBT-I in adult populations were included and examined in detail. Study characteristics were extracted using a standardised template. Quantitative measures and relevant findings were summarised using a qualitative approach following recommended reporting standards. 1,168 non-duplicate articles were identified, of which 44 were selected for full-text review. Seven full economic evaluations of CBT-I in adult populations met the inclusion criteria and were incorporated in the final synthesis. Using the dominance ranking framework to compare cost and outcomes, CBT-I was cost-effective compared to pharmacotherapy or no treatment. The limited number of studies included in this review implies that caution should be exercised when interpreting these results. Future studies are encouraged to employ longer time-horizons and larger sample sizes to enable better determination of sustained cost and outcomes changes. In this study, pigmented rice was characterized in terms of nutraceutical starch (NS) and phenolic content. Further the effect of rice phenolics on carbolytic enzyme inhibition, glucose uptake, hepatic glucose homeostasis and anti-glycation ability was analyzed in vitro. The most relevant effect on enzyme inhibition (α-amylase IC50-42.34 µg/mL; α-glucosidase IC5063.89 µg/mL), basal uptake of glucose (>39.5%) and anti-glycation ability (92%) was found in red rice (RR), than black rice (BR). The role of RR phenolics in regulating glucose homeostasis was deciphered using hepatic cell line system, which found up-regulation of glucose transporter 2 (GLUT2) and glycogen synthase 2 (GYS2); while expression of gluconeogenic genes were found down regulated. To our knowledge this study is the first report validating the role of starch-phenolic quality towards anti-hyperglycemic effect of RR.Facile detection of malachite green (MG), a toxic dye, in aquaculture is urgently demanded for environment and food safety. Herein, we design a novel fluorescent probe, namely red emissive Se,N,Cl-doped carbon dots (CDs), to accurately determinate MG. CDs are prepared by hydrothermal treatment of selenourea and o-phenylenediamine in HCl solution. This material exhibits excitation-independent dual emissions at 625 and 679 nm, with a high quantum yield of 23.6%. A selective and sensitive fluorescent sensor toward MG is established based on inner filter effect, because both the excitation and emission light of CDs can be strongly absorbed by MG. The fluorescence quenching of CDs is linear to the MG concentration over the range of 0.07-2.50 μM with a low detection limit of 21 nM. Trace-level analysis of MG in fish tissue is successfully explored, demonstrating the great potential of the proposed sensor for MG monitoring in aquatic products.
