The clinical course is more favorable compared to cirrhosis patients, especially in the absence of clinical PH or liver dysfunction. In this case study, we present a patient with no history of cardiovascular disease, who was hospitalized for COVID-19 pneumonia and subsequently recovered. Despite normal serum troponin levels and left ventricular structure and function, multi-parametric cardiac magnetic resonance imaging revealed a classic myocarditis-like pattern of injury approximately 6 months after his convalescence. Physicians should be aware of the possibility of late myocardial injury/inflammation in patients with recovered COVID-19, even in the absence of elevated troponin levels and/or left ventricular dysfunction.
To evaluate the effect of personalized prechemotherapy education in the reduction of peri-chemotherapy anxiety in patients with colorectal cancer.

Patients admitted to the Department of Oncology with a diagnosis of stage III or IV colorectal cancer and scheduled for initial chemotherapy from January 1, 2017, to June 30, 2019, were retrieved. Patients in the educated group completed the GAD-7 form to evaluate their anxiety level at admission and 14 days after personalized prechemotherapy education, the educator team of which included both physician and nurse staff. Patients in the control group only completed GAD-7 forms at admission and 14 days thereafter without personalized education.

Three hundred and sixty-four patients were enrolled for analysis, including 127 patients who received personalized prechemotherapy education and 237 patients who did not receive education. There were no significant differences in age, gender, education level, or pretreatment GAD-7 scores between the two groups, but significantly lower posttreatment GAD-7 score, and fewer medium to severe posttreatment anxiety patients in the educated group.

This study is aimed at providing further insight into clinical features of this patient cohort. The presence of serum EBV DNA was assessed in 399 patients with colonic ulcers, of which 30 cases were positive. In EBV-positive patients, the EBV-encoded RNA (EBER) was detected in intestinal tissues of 13 patients (EBER-positive group). The test was negative in 17 patients (EBER-negative group). Acute EBV infection rate in patients with colonic ulcer was 7.52%. Age and sex differences between two groups were not statistically significant. Fever, abdominal lymph node enlargement, and crater-like gouged ulcer morphology were more common in the EBER-positive group (P less then 0.05). The albumin level in the EBER-positive group was significantly lower compared to that in the EBER-negative group (P less then 0.05). The copy count of EBV DNA in the blood of patients from the EBER-positive group was higher, and the prognosis was worse (P less then 0.05). Clinical manifestations were more severe in the EBER-positive group. Endoscopic, histopathological, and biochemical findings were also more serious in this group of patients. The findings point to the importance of assessing the EBER expression in patients with intestinal ulcers of various etiology. EBER positivity should be viewed as a diagnostic marker of more severe condition requiring more aggressive treatment.Eurythenes S.I. Eurythenes atacamensis sp. nov. is a large species, max. observed length 83.2 mm, possesses diagnostic features, including a short gnathopod 1 palm and a chelate gnathopod 2 palm, and a distinct genetic lineage based on a 16S rRNA and COI phylogeny. This species is a dominant bait-attending fauna with an extensive bathymetric range, spanning from 4974 to 8081 m. The RV Sonne SO261 specimens were recovered along a 10-station transect from abyssal to hadal depths and further examined for demographic and bathymetric-related patterns. Ontogenetic vertical stratification was evident across the trench axis, with only juveniles present at abyssal depths (4974-6025 m). Total length-depth analysis revealed that the size of females was unrelated to depth, whereas juveniles followed a sigmoidal relationship with a step-up in size at depths >7200 m. Thus, these bathymetric trends suggest that juveniles and females employ differing ecological strategies in subduction trench environments. This study highlights that even dominant and ecologically important species are still being discovered within the abyssal and hadal environments. Continued systematic expeditions will lead to an improved understanding of the eco-evolutionary drivers of speciation in the world's largest ecosystem.
