There has been increased research interest into the concept of treatment integrity within psychotherapy research. The Competence and Adherence Scale for Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CAS-CBT) was developed to measure therapists' competence and adherence in cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), when delivered to children and youth with anxiety disorders.

The aim of this study was to evaluate the psychometric properties of the CAS-CBT in a naturalistic treatment setting.

Ratings of 212 randomly selected sessions from a clinical effectiveness trial for children with anxiety disorders (n = 165, mean age = 10.46 years, SD = 1.49) were analysed to assess the psychometric properties of CAS-CBT. Therapy format included both individual sessions and group sessions.

Internal consistency for the CAS-CBT was excellent (Cronbach's alpha = .88). Factor analysis suggested a two-factor solution for the total sample, where the first factor was related to CBT structure and session goals, and the second factor was associated with process and relational skills. The individual CBT treatment condition (ICBT) and group CBT treatment condition (GCBT) showed the same factor solution.

The CAS-CBT is a feasible and reliable measure for assessing competence and adherence to CBT in the treatment of anxious children. Future research is needed to further assess the generalizability of this scale, its psychometric properties in different treatment populations and with other treatment approaches, and ideally with larger sample sizes.

In this study, an algorithm based on the method of limiting factors is developed to retrospectively forecast annual births in Xi'an City in the first three years of policy implementation, i.e. 2016-2018. The 2015 Xi'an Fertility Survey (sample 560 one-child mothers) showed that 17% of mothers intended to have a second child, 30% were undecided and 53% did not intend to do so at the end of 2015. The low forecast variant based on the updated algorithm indicates that there would be a baby boom in 2016-2018, but the annual births would increase by 13% at most. The forecasting results are basically consistent with the official reports on annual births. This study emphasizes the importance of appropriately adjusting all fertility intentions in birth forecasting, helps to understand women's fertility behaviour and evaluate the effects of implementing the universal two-child policy, and has important implications for China's population and family planning work.
Incomplete resection is a problem in the management of malignancies. This study is aimed to determine frequency of and risk factors for incomplete surgical margins in skin cancers.

In this retrospective study, resected skin cancers of a hospital from 2009 to 2020 were reviewed and, based on histopathology reports, categorized as incomplete/positive or complete/negative margins. The demographics and tumor characteristics were extracted from patients' medical files and compared between two groups.

Three hundred and sixty-four skin cancers were resected from 304 patients; incomplete margins occurred in 26.3%. There were no significant differences in gender, age, and site of tumors on the body parts (including head, neck, trunk, and limbs) between the positive and negative margin groups. Incomplete resections were significantly associated with size, site of tumors on various parts of the head (such as scalp, ear, nose, etc.), number of lesions excised in one session, and physician specialty.
