Several hundreds of genes were differentially expressed after grape intake or after washout. The functional analysis of these genes detected significant changes in key processes such as inflammation and immunity, thrombosis, DNA and protein repair, autophagy and mitochondrial biogenesis. Moreover, fresh grape intake was found to influence the expression of many long non-coding RNA genes. Molossus includes groups of species that are either morphologically or genetically very similar, rendering the taxonomy of this genus confusing and unstable. In this paper, we provide inferred phylogenetic relationships of Molossus based on the genotype by sequencing approach from 189 specimens of three species of New World mastiff bats (Molossus, Promops, and Eumops). We also present data on divergent tree topologies produced by alignments using de novo and reference genome approaches and distinct phylogenetic methods (maximum likelihood and coalescent approaches). These data provide the first highly resolved phylogenetic tree for Molossus, not recovered by previous studies using Sanger sequencing. Our dataset brings new insights on relationships among species and show how different approaches might affect phylogenetic resolution and topologies. © 2020 The Author(s).The present study has been carried out to investigate the rheological and spectral data of galactomannan and its quaternary ammonium derivative obtained from the endosperm of Cassia tora Linn. seed. The characterization of native and quaternized Cassia tora gum (CTG) was done by employing 2D NMR spectroscopy including HSQC and HMBC spectra. The data was analysed to identify the quaternary ammonium moiety introduced onto the galactomannan chain. The correlation signal of carbon and hydrogen of quaternary ammonium groups introduced onto the galactomannan chain was observed at 56 and 2.7 ppm respectively in HSQC spectrum. Further, the rheological data of CTG and derivatized product has been discussed. The data is related to the research article "Synthesis and characterization of quaternized Cassia tora gum using Taguchi's L'16 approach" [1]. © 2020 Published by Elsevier Inc.This article reports a dataset on the thermodynamic and elastic properties of two important raw minerals exploited in georesources and ore mining. The presented data refers to two zinc sulphide polymorphs, namely zinc-blende (low-pressure polymorph, space group F 4 - 3 m ) and rock-salt (high-pressure polymorph, space group F m 3 - m ) [1], and of type-A carbonated apatite, [CAp, Ca10(PO4)6CO3, space group P1] [2]. The data here reported were calculated from ab initio quantum mechanical simulations at the DFT/B3LYP level, all-electron Gaussian-type orbitals basis sets and from the analysis of the phonon properties of the zinc sulphide polymorphs and of type-A CAp by means of the quasi-harmonic approximation. In addition, a correction to take into account the effects of dispersive forces was considered to obtain the dataset of type-A carbonated apatite. This dataset, which was validated against experimental thermodynamic data reported in literature, has been employed to construct the phase diagram between the two zinc sulphide polymorphs and discuss their stability over the temperature and pressure range 0-800 K and 0-25 GPa. The thermodynamic and thermoelastic data of CAp were obtained between 0 and 600 K and 0-3 GPa, below the temperature of thermal decomposition of the mineral. The reported data can be of use in several application fields, for instance fundamental georesource exploration and exploitation, and also in applied mineralogy, geology, material science, and as a reference to assess the quality of other theoretical approaches. Furthermore, the data of type-A carbonated apatite could be useful for designing and processing new biomaterials with tailored properties. © 2020 The Authors.Sponges are ecologically important components of marine and freshwater benthic environments; these holobionts contain a variety of microorganisms and viruses. For the metagenomic characterization of potential taxonomic and functional diversity of sponge-associated dsDNA viruses, we surveyed two samples of Baikal endemic sponge Baikalospongia bacillifera (diseased and visually healthy). In total, after quality processing, we have obtained 3 375 063 and 4 063 311 reads; of these 97 557 and 88 517 sequences, accounting for ca. 2.9 and 2.2% of datasets, have been identified as viral. We have revealed approximately 28 viral families, among which the bacteriophages of the Myoviridae, Siphoviridae and Podoviridae families, as well as the viruses of the Phycodnaviridae and Poxviridae families, dominated in the samples. Analysis of viral sequences using the COG database has indicated 22 functional categories of proteins. Viral communities of visually healthy and diseased Baikal sponges were significantly different. However, there is need to generate transcriptome data from representative species of the primary salamander families. Here we describe a de novo reference transcriptome for a terrestrial salamander, Bolitoglossa vallecula (Caudata Plethodontidae). We employed paired-end (PE) illumina RNA sequencing to assemble a de novo reference transcriptome for B. vallecula. Assembled transcripts were compared against sequences from other vertebrate taxa to identify orthologous genes, and compared to the transcriptome of a close plethodontid relative (Bolitoglossa ramosi) to identify commonly expressed genes in the skin. This dataset should be useful to future comparative studies aimed at understanding important biological process, such as immunity, wound healing, and the production of antimicrobial compounds. © 2020 The Authors.
