Although the left coronary artery (LCA) has a flow profile in that most blood flow occurs during diastole rather than systole, the right coronary artery (RCA) has a flow pattern that is less diastolic dominant. This study assessed whether coronary pressure waveforms distal to stenoses with the same fractional flow reserve (FFR) was the same between the LCA and RCA.
A total of 347 vessels from 318 patients who underwent FFR measurements were included. Conventional FFR was calculated as the ratio of the mean coronary distal pressure (Pd) to the mean aortic pressure (Pa) at maximal hyperemia. The pressure drop ratios in systole (PDR
) and diastole (PDR
) were calculated as the sum of (Pa minus Pd) divided by the sum of Pa at the intracoronary diastolic and systolic pressure phases, respectively.
Analysis of covariance of the regression line of correlation between conventional FFR and PDR
revealed that the slope was significantly greater in the RCA than in the left anterior descending artery (LAD) and left circumflex artery (LCX) (-0.765, -0.578, and -0.589, p < 0.001). On the other hand, the regression line of correlation between conventional FFR and PDR
found that the slope was significantly greater in the LAD and LCX than in the RCA (-1.349, -1.318, and -1.223, p < 0.001).
The pressure waveform distal to the stenosis differs between the LCA and RCA. In the LCA, the decrease in diastolic pressure mainly contributed to the drop in FFR, whereas in the RCA, it was the decrease in systolic pressure.

Forty-nine HF patients (age 66.5 ± 10 years, LVEF 24.9 ± 6.4%, LBBB 71.4%, 57.1% ischemic aetiology of HF) underwent CRT implantation. Transthoracic echocardiography was performed prior to and 15 ± 7 months after CRT implantation. Speckle-tracking echocardiography was performed to assess longitudinal left ventricular function as LVGLS. The response to CRT was defined as a ≥ 15% reduction in the left ventricular end-systolic volume (∆LVESV). Thirty-six (73.5%) patients responded to CRT. There was no linear correlation between baseline LVGLS and ∆LVESV (r = 0.09; p = 0.56). The patients were divided according to the percentile of baseline LVGLS above 80th percentile; between 80 and 40th percentile; below 40th percentile. Two peripheral groups (above 80th and below 40th percentile) formed "peripheral LVGLS" and the middle group was called "mid-range LVGLS". selleck chemicals llc The absolute LVGLS cutoff values were - 6.07% (40th percentile) and - 8.67% (80th percentile). For the group of 20 (40.8%) "mid-range LVGLS" patients mean ΔLVESV was 33.3 ± 16.9% while for "peripheral LVGLS" ΔLVESV was 16.2 ± 18.8% (p less then 0.001). Among non-ischemic HF etiology, all "mid-range LVGLS" patients (100%) responded positively to CRT (in "peripheral LVGLS"-55% responders; p = 0.015). Baseline LVGLS may have a potential prognostic value in prediction CRT response with relationship of inverted J-shaped pattern. "Mid-range LVGLS" values should help to select CRT responders, especially in non-ischemic HF etiology patients.
Many radiotracers are currently available for the detection of recurrent prostate cancer (rPC), yet many have not been compared head-to-head in comparative imaging studies. There is therefore an unmet need for evidence synthesis to guide evidence-based decisions in the selection of radiotracers. The objective of this study was therefore to assess the detection rate of various radiotracers for the rPC.
The PUBMED, EMBASE, and the EU and NIH trials databases were searched without date or language restriction for comparative imaging tracers for 13 radiotracers of principal interest. Key search terms included 18F-PSMA-1007, 18F-DCPFyl, 68Ga-PSMA-11, 18F-PSMA-11, 68Ga-PSMA-I&T, 68Ga-THP-PSMA, 64Cu-PSMA-617, 18F-JK-PSMA-7, 18F-Fluciclovine, 18F-FABC, 18F-Choline, 11C-Choline, and 68Ga-RM2. Studies reporting comparative imaging data in humans in rPC were selected. Single armed studies and matched pair analyses were excluded. Twelve studies with eight radiotracers were eligible for inclusion. Two independent our systematic review. A further limitation was lack of reporting on diagnostic accuracy, which might favour radiotracers with low specificity in an analysis restricted only to detection rate. The NMA derived can be used to inform the design of future clinical trials and highlight areas where current evidence is weak.

A majority (85%) of Mexican Catholic parents support adolescent access to modern contraceptive methods, but there was less support (28%) for access to contraception unaccompanied. Further, our results show strong support (92%) for sex education in schools. Parents who believe that good Catholics can use contraception had higher odds of support for adolescent access and unaccompanied access to modern contraception. Mexican Catholic parents support adolescent access to modern contraception, but support for unaccompanied access to contraception is lower. This may reflect an interest in being involved, and not necessarily opposition to contraceptive use. Measures of Catholicism that focus on behaviors may better explain opinions about adolescent access to contraception.
