Ashwinder ini tercipta ketika api sihir dibiarkan membakar tanpa kendali untuk waktu terlalu lama. Ular berwarna kelabu pucat dengan tubuh kecil dan mata merah menyala-nyala ini akan muncul dari bara api yang tidak diawasi dan merayap kebalik bayang-bayang rumah yang ditemukannya sendiri, meninggalkan jejak abu di belakangnya.
Ashwinder hanya hidup selama satu jam dan selama waktu itu hewan ini mencari tempat gelap dan terpencil untuk meletakkan telurnya. Setelah itu roboh menjadi abu.
Lalu telur-telurnya, Mereka mengeluarkan panas yang hebat, warnanya merah terang. Telur tersebut akan membakar rumah dalam beberapa menit jika tidak ditemukan dan dibekukan dengan mantra yang sesuai. Jadi, mantranya Glacius. Fungsinya untuk membekukan benda dan mantra ini dapat membekukan telur Ashwinder.
Penyihir yang menyadari ada satu atau lebih Ashwinder yang lepas didalam rumah harus segera melacak dan menemukan sarang telurnya. Mereka harus segera dibekukan, telur-telur ini amat bermanfaat untuk digunakan dalam Ramuaan Cinta dan bisa dimakan seluruhnya sebagai obat demam. Cukup mengerikan tapi bermanfaat.
