COVID-19 pandemic has made impact both in clinical and educational settings. Hesperadin The number of surgeries has decreased; thus, the surgery videos of all cases are important for both documentation and education. This study aimed to compare three kinds of cameras in recording digestive surgery.
We compared three cameras Panasonic HV-770 Full HD Camcorder, Sony FDR-X3000 Action-cam, and Ordro EP7 Hands-Free FPV Camera. Each camera was used in several recording for superficial and visceral digestive surgeries and we compared the following operation field, image focus, surgeon's comfort, practicality, and record settings.
Camcorder needs 10-15min to set up and longer dismounting time, has steady vantage view and focus, good image quality, can be zoomed, but the recording may be obstructed by the surgeon's head. Action camera needs 5-10min to set up and the dismounting time was equal between Camcorder and Ordro. Action camera depicts surgeon's vision, however, zoom could not be applied while recording. Sony FDR-X3000 used in this study had good image quality, but the use of this camera in a long surgery may generate neck stiffness due to its weight. Ordro EP7 was comfortable in any surgery but it had inferior image quality compared to the others.
Panasonic HC-V770 and Sony FDR X3000 had good image quality, where camcorder excelled in longer surgeries due to its comfort, action-cam excelled for shorter surgeries due to ease of use and settings. Ordro EP7 was the most comfortable among all but has lowest image quality.

Since the emergence of coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19), distance education has been extensively implemented in all educational institutes and remote electronic exams (E-exams) have been adopted as a primary mode of assessment.
This cross-sectional study aimed to evaluate the experience of students at faculties of Medicine, Dentistry, Pharmacy, Nursing and Applied Medical Sciences at Jordan University of Science and Technology regarding remote E-exams preferences and academic dishonesty during the pandemic.
The survey composed of 16 questions, prepared using Google forms and distributed through students' E-learning platforms. The survey explored factors affecting students' preference for remote E-exams, methods for course assessment/evaluation, factors related to students' exam dishonesty/misconduct during remote E-exams and measures that can be considered to reduce this behavior. Data were analyzed using descriptive, cross tabulation and Chi-square tests.
Among 730 students, approximately only onee improvement for the distance teaching methodologies, rearrangement of assessment options, modification of the academic curriculum to fit the current situation, and adopting certain measures to prevent exam dishonesty and maintain academic integrity.
Results suggested less preference of remote E-exams among students at medical faculties. Findings from this study are highly valuable to plan for academic strategies to overcome difficulties and challenges of remote E-exams. These might include improvement for the distance teaching methodologies, rearrangement of assessment options, modification of the academic curriculum to fit the current situation, and adopting certain measures to prevent exam dishonesty and maintain academic integrity. The diagnosis of indolent systemic mastocytosis can be quite a challenge due to its wide spectrum of clinical manifestations. We are reporting a case of misdiagnosed indolent systemic mastocytosis in a 41-year-old male that has been wrongly treated first as a Non-Hodgkin lymphoma. The patient had generalized lymphadenopathy and eosinophilia, which are rare manifestations of indolent systemic mastocytosis. The chronic neglected pruritus and elevated tryptase levels along with histological findings were the main clues that have led us to the final diagnosis of indolent systemic mastocytosis. Later during the coronavirus disease 2019 pandemic, the patient presented with symptoms that are common between coronavirus disease 2019 and mast cell activation syndrome. Coronavirus disease 2019 was confirmed with a polymerase chain reaction test. There were no clear guidelines for managing a case like ours, so our management plan was based on the latest recommendations published at that time.
Radiological evaluation of suspected COVID-19 patients is required for early detection of thoracic involvement, particularly in emergency units, while waiting for definitive diagnosis by real-time reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR). Here, we report a case series of CXR findings in Indonesian patients with COVID-19 in our institution.
We included 7 patients with COVID-19 confirmed by RT-PCR, including 4 females and 3 males, with ages ranging from 36 to 71 years. All patients showed abnormal findings on CXR when admitted to the hospital, except one, composed of ground glass opacity (GGO) (n=1), consolidation (n=3), and both (n=2). Both and one side of the lung were affected in three and three (left side=2; right side=1) patients, respectively. Pneumonia degrees of mild, moderate and severe were observed in three, one, and two patients, respectively. All patients eventually recovered.
CXR is the most common radiological examination for patients with respiratory disorders, including COVID-19, and it is readily available in almost all health care facilities. The imaging manifestation of COVID-19 is similar to viral pneumonia but also has its own characteristics, including GGO, consolidation, multiple plaque shadows, and interstitial changes that are mostly seen in peripherals and subpleural areas, as well as shadow infiltration in both lungs.
CXR showed various abnormality findings in patients with COVID-19, including the type, location, and degree of pneumonia. Moreover, CXR is considered more effective and useful for initial screening and follow-up of the progress of patients with COVID-19.
