[Complaints regarding dental treatment: dealing with Two practice dilemmas].
Moreover, we show that additionally analyzing animal DNA in this mixed crime scene trace provides further investigative information. We envision that the investigative DNA strategy that we applied here for analyzing a two-person mixed crime scene trace in a murder case, will be applied in the future to more criminal cases with two-person DNA mixtures, for instance sexual assault cases.Recent advances in cell reprogramming have made it possible to form new therapeutic cells within the body itself via a process called direct conversion or lineage reprogramming. A series of studies have shown that it is possible to reprogram resident glia into new neurons within the brain parenchyma. These studies opened up for the targeted attempts to achieve functional brain repair using in vivo conversion. Because of the relatively focal degeneration, Parkinson's Disease (PD) is an attractive target for both transplantation-based and in vivo conversion-based reparative approaches. Fetal cell transplants have provided proof-of-concept and stem cell-based therapies for PD are now on the verge of entering clinical trials. In the future, in vivo conversion may be an alternative to transplantation-based therapies. With the increasing demand for efficient extraction of residual oil, enhanced oil recovery (EOR) offers prospects for producing more reservoirs' original oil in place. As one of the most promising methods, chemical EOR (cEOR) is the process of injecting chemicals (polymers, alkalis, and surfactants) into reservoirs. However, the main issue that influences the recovery efficiency in surfactant flooding of cEOR is surfactant losses through adsorption to the reservoir rocks. This review focuses on the key issue of surfactant adsorption in cEOR and addresses major concerns regarding surfactant adsorption processes. We first describe the adsorption behavior of surfactants with particular emphasis on adsorption mechanisms, isotherms, kinetics, thermodynamics, and adsorption structures. Factors that affect surfactant adsorption such as surfactant characteristics, solution chemistry, rock mineralogy, and temperature were discussed systematically. To minimize surfactant adsorption, the chemical additives of alkalis, polymers, nanoparticles, co-solvents, and ionic liquids are highlighted as well as implementing with salinity gradient and low salinity water flooding strategies. Finally, current trends and future challenges related to the harsh conditions in surfactant based EOR are outlined. It is expected to provide solid knowledge to understand surfactant adsorption involved in cEOR and contribute to improved flooding strategies with reduced surfactant loss.
Multiple drug use involves particular pleasures and risks, and is disproportionately practiced by some minority and socially marginalized groups. The unique patterns, intentions, and social contexts of multiple drug use for these groups are poorly understood.

Our mixed method integrates geo-enabled smartphone survey data collection with a qualitative mapping interview method. This brief report presents data from one study participant to demonstrate this method's potential contributions to multiple drug use research for priority groups in different settings.

'Jason's' data revealed the interrelated dynamics within his drug use repertoire and links between his substance use to rural life as a transgender person with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). Cigarettes played a role in coping with acute stress from repeatedly being misgendered. Cannabis intoxication helped manage social interactions as a person with ASD, while 'chasing' with cigarettes calibrated cannabis intoxication. Methamphetamine use related to managing body dysmorphia in a rural context with poor access to transgender health services.

This mixed method can integrate reliable and ecologically valid assessments of multiple drug use repertoires and combination patterns with the place-embedded experiences, intersecting identities, structural barriers, and intentions related to multiple drug use for different priority groups.

Sexualised drug use (SDU) has been identified as a major risk factor for HIV, as well as other mental health comorbidities among gay, bisexual and other men who have sex with men (GBMSM). While multiple studies have been conducted on the topic, few have explored the role of trauma in underpinning experiences of SDU among substance use treatment-experienced GBMSM. find more This qualitative study investigates life histories of trauma, and proposes a framework to better situate the factors driving SDU among treatment-experienced GBMSM.

We conducted semi-structured in-depth interviews with 33 purposively-sampled GBMSM with a history of SDU, and seeking treatment for it in Singapore. Interview topics included participants' experiences and life histories of SDU, substance use, incarceration, trauma, as well as stories of resilience and ongoing recovery from SDU. Interviews were audio-recorded, transcribed, coded, and analysed using inductive thematic analysis, from which a trauma-informed framework was developed.

Partproposes the role of trauma and the preconditions underpinning them in motivating SDU among a sample of largely substance use treatment-experienced GBMSM in Singapore. Interventions that provide support for GBMSM seeking treatment for SDU should provide trauma-informed care to address the complex barriers to treatment effectiveness.

The objection is that the explanandum in any mathematical explanation of a physical phenomenon is itself identified using mathematical concepts. Hence the explanandum is only genuine if the truth of some mathematical theory is already presupposed. I argue that this objection deserves to be taken seriously, that it does sometimes undermine support for EIA, but that there is no reason to think that circularity is an unavoidable feature of mathematical explanation in science.
