e transfer experience (109%). Fellows with the largest number of prior live ET experience started with higher confidence, which also increased significantly, although they had a lower gain in confidence compared with fellows with less experience.
The American Society for Reproductive Medicine Embryo Transfer Certificate Course data analysis demonstrates the effectiveness of simulator-based ET training for REI fellows across the 3 years of training, regardless of prior experience with live ET.

To evaluate the efficacy of the second micro-testicular sperm extraction (TESE)in men with nonobstructive azoospermia in whom the first micro-TESE failed.
Retrospective.
Private clinic.
One hundred twenty-five men with nonobstructive azoospermia with failed previous micro-TESE. The patients were divided into 2 groups according to their surgical sperm retrieval status during the second micro-TESE. If sperm could not be found, these patients were classified as Group 1, and, if sperm was found, the patients were classified as Group 2. The 2 groups were compared for clinical parameters and pathologic findings.
Micro-TESE.
Surgical sperm retrieval status.
Sperm was recovered successfully in 23 of 125 (18.4%) men with the second micro-TESE. Testicular volume was significantly lower in Group 2 (8.2 ± 5.4 mL) than Group 1 (11.3 ± 5.3 mL). Seven of 14 (50%) patients with Klinefelter's Syndrome had sperm recovery with repeat micro-TESE. Selleckchem Epacadostat The sperm retrieval rate was significantly higher in the Leydig cell hyperplasia and tubular sclerosis groups than in the Sertoli cell only and maturation arrest groups (54.5%, 10.1%, and 18.6%, respectively).
On the basis of our results, 18.4% of men with failed first micro-TESE had a probability of sperm retrieval with the second micro-TESE. Patients with successful sperm recovery had smaller testicular volumes than those with a failed second attempt. Severe testicular atrophy was not a contraindication for the second micro-TESE in such patients.

The PIN1-encoded protein (Pin1) suppresses eNOS-NO signaling and may impair cardiovascular function. Blood collection, DNA extraction, PCR amplification and gene sequencing were performed for thirty CHD participants living in central China, focusing on nine single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs). Their genetic linkages were revealed and their allele frequencies were compared with SNP data from the NCBI. Three major linkage patterns were identified [1.rs2287839-5.rs2233682], [3.rs2233679-4.rs1077220-8.rs2287838] and [6.rs889162-7.rs2010457], suggesting correlated involvement in CHD and possible simultaneous genetic origin in ancient times. The frequencies of six SNPs are consistent with the NCBI data, while the frequencies of three SNPs (2.rs2233678, 4.rs1077220 and 9.rs4804461) are not consistent with the NCBI. Especially, the 3.rs2233679-4.rs1077220 linkage is different from other populations worldwide and may be an interesting genetic characteristic of Chinese CHD patients. Predictably, 1.rs2287839, 2.rs2233678, 3.rs2233679 and 5.rs2233682 may be strongly associated with CHD risk, although this requires future verification. The PIN1 SNP linkages lay a new genetic foundation for discovering novel molecular mechanisms of CHD and for exploring PIN1-based targeted treatment of CHD with nitric oxide regulatory therapies in clinical practice.Novel route has been developed to selectively extract lithium (Li), cobalt (Co) and manganese (Mn) from the leach liquor of discarded lithium ion batteries (LIBs) containing 1.4 g/L Cu, 1.1 g/L Ni, 11.9 g/L Co, 6.9 g/L Mn and 1.2 g/L Li. Initially, Cu and Ni were extracted by solvent extraction techniques using 10% LIX 84-IC at equilibrium (Eq.) pH 3 and 4.6, respectively. Subsequently, precipitation studies were carried out at different conditions such as pH, reaction time, precipitant concentration etc., to optimize the parameters for selective precipitation of Co from the leach liquor. Result showed that 99.2% Co was precipitated from the leach liquor (11.9 g/L Co, 6.9 g/L Mn and 1.2 g/L Li) after extraction of Cu and Ni in a range of pH 2.9 to 3.1 using un-diluted ammonium sulfide solution (10% v/v) as a precipitant at 30 °C, while only 0.89% Mn and 0.62% Li were co-precipitated. After Co precipitation, 98.9% Mn was extracted from the filtrate using 10% D2EHPA at equilibrium pH 4.5, and Li remained in raffinate. From the obtained purified solution, metals could be recovered either in a form of salt/metals by precipitation/ evaporation/ electrolysis method.Since its first description in china in January 2020, COVID-19 pandemia outbreak has affected health organization and conventional care in all settings as wards, intensive care and surgery. Hip fracture patients usually are older and have a lot of comorbidities. This type of patientes benefit from early surgery. However, surgery in COVID-19 patients with active infection is associate with bad outcomes and mortality. We present three patients with COVID infection undergoing hip fracture surgery. Surgery was performed tree weeks after admission. Despite have risk factor (old age, arterial hypertension, elevated inflammatory parameters) the outcome was good and were discharged from hospital without events.
Chronic low back pain (CLBP) is a frequent condition, poorly managed with conventional treatments. The ultrasound-guided erector spinae plane block has increasingly been used in the management of acute and chronic pain. We aimed to determine this technique's analgesic efficacy in patients with moderate to severe CLBP.
Ten consecutively selected patients adults, regularly followed in our Pain Clinic with moderate/severe long-term CLBP refractory to pharmacological treatment, VAS>4. Prospective data collection before the intervention -demographical data, past medical history, current pain therapies, VAS pain level, Brief Pain Inventory- Short Form and Neuropathic Pain Questionnaire; 30minutes after - VAS and satisfaction level; 24 and 72hours, 7 days and 1 month after - complications and pain level.
Majority of females (90%), mean age of 70.3 years-old. All had primary musculoskeletal CLBP. 90% experienced severe pain (VAS>=7) in the last 24hours. Half presented neuropathic characteristics. Patients were very satisfied with the technique (mean 8.
