With both isolates, the HRS segregation ratios obtained fitted 51 for Kipfler x Ruby Lou, 111 for White Rose x Ruby Lou, and 31 for Desiree. Those for Ruby Lou were 681 (isolate PP) and 520 (isolate KIP1). Since potato is tetraploid, these ratios suggest PVYD elicits HR with Ny from Ruby Lou (duplex condition) and Desiree (simplex condition), and Nc from White Rose (simplex condition), but provide no evidence that Nd exists. Therefore, our differential cultivar inoculations and inheritance studies highlight that PVYD isolates elicit an HR phenotype in potato cultivars with either of two HR genes, Nc or Ny, so putative gene Nd can be discounted. Moreover, phylogenetic analysis placed the complete genome of isolate PP within the same minor phylogroup PVYO3 sub-clade as KIP1 which constitutes the most basal divergence within overall major phylogroup PVYO.
Psychopathy has been an increasing area of clinical and personality research and is associated with numerous problematic outcomes, including pathological gambling, though this area of research is limited. The most common conceptualization of psychopathy is a two-factor model of primary and secondary psychopathy, with primary psychopathy comprising more interpersonal traits and secondary psychopathy encompassing more antisocial behaviors. Previous research has linked psychopathy to greater urgency and lower utilization of harm reduction strategies.
The current study examines the relationship between primary psychopathy, secondary psychopathy, and problematic gambling, as well as the possible mechanisms of these relationships.
College student gamblers (
= 308) completed surveys on psychopathy, impulsivity, protective behavioral strategies regarding gambling, and possible gambling problems.
Primary psychopathy was inversely related to gambling protective behavioral strategies (PBS) and secondary psychopathy was positively associated with higher levels of urgency. Secondary psychopathy, via urgency, was a strong predictor of whether an individual will experience gambling problems, while primary psychopathy via PBS better predicts the number of gambling problems one experiences.

This study extends an overall under-researched area of gambling and personality and highlights the importance of delineating different factors of psychopathy regarding problematic gambling outcomes.Background The association of pulmonary and hepatic hydatid cysts is rare. Managing this condition with low mortality and complications is a challenge. The aim of this study is to put forward our experience in managing both sites in single-stage posterolateral thoracotomy. Patients and Methods A retrospective study of 14 patients who underwent single-stage posterolateral thoracotomy and phrenotomy to treat right lung and liver hydatid cysts between January 2010 and December 2019 were reviewed. Results Fourteen of 135 patients (10.4%) with double location of hydatid disease were treated in our department for pulmonary hydatid cysts in the same period. There were nine males and five females who were 20 to 72 years old (average age, 42.7 years). Chest computed tomography (CT) and abdominal scan were performed in all cases. The surgical approach was posterolateral thoracotomy and phrenotomy without laparotomy in all cases. Conservation of hepatic and pulmonary parenchymas was possible in 13 patients (92.8%). Average operative time was 122 minutes (range, 95-210 minutes) and the average post-operative hospital stay was 8.7 days. Post-operative complications occurred in two (14.3%) cases, one was atelectasis and the other persistent biliary and air leakage. There was no post-operative mortality. All patients received post-operative medical treatment for three to six months and there was no recurrence after an average follow-up of 26 months. Conclusion Single-stage thoracotomy is a better option than thoracotomy and laparotomy for the management of double located hydatid cysts. It has a lower complication rate, shorter hospital stay, and rapid resumption of normal activity.Frequent leakage and pollution of oily wastewater seriously affect the world's ecosystem safety and economic development, which prompts us to urgently develop a highly effective, low-cost, wear-resistant, chemically stable, and environmentally friendly new functional material for oil/water separation. In this paper, a robust superhydrophobic material was successfully electrodeposited on the porous copper foam substrates in myristic acid (CH3(CH2)12COOH) and lanthanum chloride (LaCl3·6H2O) electrodeposition solution under a continuous pumping circulation and rotation condition. Moreover, SEM, EDS, XRD, FTIR, and XPS technologies were utilized to characterize the surface morphology and chemical composition information. The superhydrophobic property was evaluated by optical contact angle instrument and high-speed camera. However, the fundamental knowledge of the mechanical properties and hardness of yttrium borides is rather lack. Here, we performed a systematic investigation on yttrium borides with various stoichiometries based on an unbiased CALYPSO structure search method and first-principles calculations. A new YB6 compound with R3m hexagonal structure is observed, which is more stable than the experimental synthesized Pm3̅m phase. The calculated formation enthalpy, elastic constants, and phonon dispersions distinctly show that the R3m-YB6 is energetically, mechanically, and dynamically stable. The density of states and electronic band structure reveal that all the stable yttrium borides are metallic. Based on a semiempirical method, the Vicker hardness of R3m-YB6 is expectant to be 37.0 GPa, indicating it is a potential ultrahard metal. Our results provide insights for future synthesis and design of new type functional materials.
