The constellation of phenotypes involving tissues that are highly sensitive to metabolic state suggests that miR-33 serves to prevent extreme fluctuations in metabolically sensitive tissues.
Our data suggest that miR-33 is a conserved regulator of lipid homeostasis, and its targets are involved in both degradation and synthesis of fatty acids and TAG. The constellation of phenotypes involving tissues that are highly sensitive to metabolic state suggests that miR-33 serves to prevent extreme fluctuations in metabolically sensitive tissues.Cervical cancer is a major gynecological malignant tumor that threatens women's health. Current cytological methods have certain limitations for cervical cancer early screening. Light scattering patterns can reflect small differences in the internal structure of cells. In this study, we develop a light scattering pattern specific convolutional network (LSPS-net) based on deep learning algorithm and integrate it into a 2D light scattering static cytometry for automatic, label-free analysis of single cervical cells. An accuracy rate of 95.46% for the classification of normal cervical cells and cancerous ones (mixed C-33A and CaSki cells) is obtained. When applied for the subtyping of label-free cervical cell lines, we obtain an accuracy rate of 93.31% with our LSPS-net cytometric technique. Furthermore, the three-way classification of the above different types of cells has an overall accuracy rate of 90.90%, and comparisons with other feature descriptors and classification algorithms show the superiority of deep learning for automatic feature extraction. The LSPS-net static cytometry may potentially be used for cervical cancer early screening, which is rapid, automatic and label-free.
Fluazaindolizine is a new compound for the control of plant-parasitic nematodes (PPNs) with an unknown and novel mode-of-action. This compound is very effective against important PPNs. However, investigations elucidating the impact of sublethal fluazaindolizine doses on early nematode virulence and plant-nematode interaction parameters are lacking.
The effect of direct exposure of Heterodera schachtii juveniles to 50 ppm fluazaindolizine was negligible. Infection assays revealed a 57% reduction in adult females at 1.25 ppm and a 46% reduction in offspring at 40 ppm when juveniles were soaked in the compound for 48 h and subsequently inoculated onto Arabidopsis thaliana. Pre-incubation of A.thaliana roots with fluazaindolizine was not effective against H.schachtii. Piceatannol in vivo Conversely, supplementing the plant growth medium with fluazaindolizine led to a significant reduction of adults (-35%), females (-75%) and female size at 1.25 ppm and nearly completely inhibited nematode parasitism at 5 ppm. The impact of fluazgly reduced. It will be interesting to identify the underlying mechanism in the future. © 2021 The Authors. The American Thoracic Society (ATS) guideline for methacholine challenge testing (MCT) recommended using the English Wright (EW) nebuliser. However, other brands of nebulisers are also indicated to be acceptable for this technique, but further validation of nebuliser performance is recommended.
To compare the methacholine provocation concentration causing a 20% fall in forced expiratory volume in 1 second (PC
-FEV
) measured by using EW nebuliser and DV 646 nebuliser.
Subjects were randomly assigned to undergo 2-min tidal breathing methacholine challenge with either EW or DV 646 nebuliser on two separate days, which were at least 24 hours but not more than 7 days apart. The above procedure was repeated for each subject in 1 month, but the nebulisers were selected in a reverse order.
The study includes 15 mild and stable asthmatic patients. The geometric means (SD) of methacholine PC
measured with using EW and DV 646 nebulisers were 1.82 (6.38) mg/mL versus 0.83 (1.82) mg/mL, respectively in the initial two visits and 2.56 (6.29) mg/mL versus 0.78 (1.40) mg/mL in the following two visits (both P < 0.05). There are well correlations between PC20-EW1 and PC20-EW2 (r=0.99, P<0.01), PC20-DV1 and PC20-DV2 (r=0.88, P<0.01), and between PC20-EW1 and PC20-DV1 (r=0.91, P<0.01), PC20-EW2 and PC20-DV2 (r=0.78, P<0.01).
PC
-FEV
measured by using the two conventional jet nebulisers was both repeatable and the results were highly correlated.

The aim of this case-control study was to compare parental stress, depression, anxiety and bonding problems between fathers and mothers of babies with infant colic and parents of control infants.
Parents of 34 infants with infant colic and 67 control dyads were included. Parental feelings were assessed using validated questionnaires.
Fathers as well as mothers of infants with infant colic showed significantly higher mean scores compared with controls on stress (20.9±5.8 and 25.5±7.2 vs 16.4±6.1 and 14.7±7.0), depression (5.6±4.0 and 9.1±4.8 vs 2.9±2.9 and 4.0±3.1), anxiety (41.9±9.2 and 46.0±10.2 vs 32.4±8.4 and 32.2±9.3) and bonding problems (16.1±8.1 and 13.7±5.9 vs 8.7±6.3 and 5.0±4.4). In fathers, after adjustments for infant and parental confounders and maternal negative feelings, depression and anxiety were significantly increased in the infant colic group (difference of 2.7 (p=0.017) and 8.6 (p=0.002)).
In fathers of infants with infant colic, the experienced distress is strongly associated with maternal distress, except for depression and anxiety. Paediatricians should be aware of these paternal feelings as parental reassurance and support is one of the cornerstones in the treatment of infants with colic.
