This study was aimed to explore the biological function and underlying mechanism of a new lncRNA LINC00200 in gastric cancer (GC).
qRT-PCR analysis was conducted to examine the LINC00200 expression level in both GC tissues and cell lines. Functional assays were carried out to detect the effect of LINC00200 on GC cell proliferation, invasion and migration. The interaction between LINC00200 and miR-143-3p was confirmed by luciferase reporter assays. Rescue assays were performed to confirm the influence of LINC00200-miR-143-3p-SERPINE1 axis on GC development.
LINC00200 was found to be upregulated in GC tissues and cell lines. Moreover, knockdown of LINC00200 suppressed GC cell proliferation, invasion and migration in vitro and inhibited tumorigenesis in mouse xenografts. Finally, mechanism research indicated that LINC00200 functioned as a ceRNA to sponge for miR-143-3p, thus leading to the disinhibition of its target gene SERPINE1.
LINC00200 is significantly overexpressed in GC and accelerates GC progression through regulating miR-143-3p/SERPINE1 axis. Our results may provide a potential diagnostic biomarker and therapeutic target for the management of GC patients.

Though there are an increasing number of female medical graduates, women remain underrepresented in academic medicine. There have been several reasons to explain this gender disparity, including marital status, number of children, number of hours worked, job flexibility, perceptions of women as inferior leaders, gender bias, sexual harassment, and unsupportive academic climates.
This study aimed to investigate the relationship between scholarly productivity and the representation of female gastroenterologists in academia. Specifically, scholarly productivity measured by the h-index and academic rank were explored to determine if there were gender disparities in academic productivity and rank in gastroenterology.
Gastroenterology departmental listings were obtained from the Fellowship and Residency Interactive Database of the American Medical Association. The Scopus database was used to record each physician'sh-index. Statistical analyses were conducted with Wilcoxon rank-sum test, which compared matchedtrong inherent leadership skills outside of academic productivity that are also conducive to leading a department and may be contributing to their rise to Chair.Environmental risks of silver (Ag) nanoparticles (NPs) have aroused considerable concern, however, their ecotoxicity in soil-plant systems has yet not been well elaborated, particularly in agroecosystems with various fertility levels and soil biota. The aims of the present study were to determine AgNPs impacts on maize as influenced by mycorrhizal inoculation and P fertilization. A greenhouse pot experiment was conducted determine the effects of mycorrhizal inoculation with Rhizophagus intraradices and P fertilization (0, 20, and 50 P mg/kg soil, as Ca(H2PO4)2) on plant growth, Ag accumulation and physiological responses of maize exposed to AgNPs (1 mg/kg), or an equivalent Ag+. Overall, AgNPs and Ag+ did not significantly affect plant biomass and acquisition of mineral nutrients, activities of superoxide dismutase (SOD), catalase (CAT), and peroxidase (POD), chlorophyll contents and photosystem (PS) II photochemical efficiency. In most cases, AgNPs and Ag+ caused similar Ag accumulation in plant tissues. P fertilization significantly increased Ag bioavailability and plant Ag accumulation, but only promoted the growth and P uptake of nonmycorrhizal plants. AM inoculation produced positive impacts on plant biomass, nutritional and physiological responses, but slightly affected extractable Ag in soil and Ag accumulation in plants. Mycorrhizal responses in plant growth and P uptake were more pronounced in the treatments without P but with Ag. By and large, AgNPs exhibited similar phytoavailability, phytoaccumulation and low phytotoxicity compared to Ag+, but higher fungitoxicity (i.e., lower root colonization). In conclusion, both AM inoculation and P fertilization can improve plant performance in the soil exposed to Ag, but P increases environmental risk of Ag. Our results indicate a beneficial role of arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi but a dual role of P in soil-plant systems exposed to AgNPs or Ag+.Interstitial lung disease (ILD) represents one of the most severe extra-muscular features of idiopathic inflammatory myositis (IIM). We aimed to identify any clinical and serological predictors of ILD in a monocentric cohort of 165 IIM patients.ILD+ patients were defined as having restrictive impairment in lung function tests and signs of ILD at chest high-resolution computed tomography (HRCT). Available HRCT images were centralized and classified in different ILD patterns non-specific interstitial pneumonia (NSIP), organizing pneumonia (OP), usual interstitial pneumonia-like (UIP), indeterminate for UIP, and interstitial lung abnormalities (ILA). TGFbeta inhibitor Lung function test data were recorded at onset, at 1 and 5 years after ILD diagnosis.ILD was found in 52 IIM patients (31.5%) 46.2% was affected by anti-synthetase syndrome (ARS), 21% by polymyositis (PM), 19% by dermatomyositis (DM), and 13.5% by overlap myositis. Most of ILD+ showed NSIP (31.9%), OP (19%), indeterminate for UIP (19%), and UIP (12.8%) patterns. At multivariate analysis, ILD was predicted by anti-Ro52 (p 0.0026) and dyspnea (p 0.015) at IIM onset. Most of ILD onset within is 12 months after IIM. In five cases, ILD occurs after 12 months since IIM diagnosis these patients more frequently show dry cough and anti-Ku antibodies. Anti-Ro52 + ILD patients showed a significant increase of DLCO at 1 and 5 years of follow-up, compared with anti-Ro52 negative cases.ILD occurs in about one third of IIM and was predicted by dyspnea at onset and anti-Ro52 antibodies. Anti-Ro52 defines a subgroup of ILD showing a significant improvement of DLCO during follow-up.
