The Swedish ambulance service has undergone major changes in recent decades due to advancements being made in medical and technical resources, professional competence, and patient care. Registered and specialist nurses share the same role, accountabilities, and responsibilities in the ambulance service, and their professional competence has not yet been evaluated.
The aim of the study was to investigate and compare self-reported professional competence among nurses working in the ambulance service and to explore associations between potentially predictive background factors and self-reported professional competence.
A cross-sectional study with a digital questionnaire was used for collecting data from 34 registered nurses and 71 specialist nurses. The Ambulance Nurse Competence Scale and the Research Utilization Questionnaire were used for data collection.
Significant differences were found among the nursing categories in terms of age, gender, education, and work experience. Prehospital emergency nurses reported the highest professional competence. Nurses with a master's degree did not report significantly higher professional competence than nurses with a bachelor's degree.
The findings indicated that there are differences in the professional competence of registered nurses and specialist nurses. Length of work experience in the ambulance service is an important factor associated with higher professional competence.

The effects of different concentrations of benzyl adenine (BA), 6-phurphurylaminopurine (KIN), indole-3-butyric acid (IBA) and naphthalene acetic acid (NAA) on shoot propagation and rooting of G. clusii were investigated. The optimal in vitro conditions for shoot propagation and long-term maintenance were achieved using woody plant medium (WPM) supplemented with 0.5 mg l-1 KIN, and subsequent application of IBA at 0.5 mg l-1 significantly improved rooting of these shoots. Root culture was established from excised root tips cultured in ½ MS liquid media with increasing concentrations of IBA (0.1-1.0 mg l-1). A high root growth rate and considerable biomass yield were obtained by addition of 1.0 mg l-1 IBA. HPLC analysis revealed that in vitro culture considerably promoted the production of secondary metabolites in G. clusii. The selected protocol for shoot propagation (WPM + 0.5 mg l-1 KIN) increased the content of sweroside, gentiopicrin and norswertianin-1-O-primeveroside (N-1-P) for more than 2-fold compared with the wild plants. IBA promoted N-1-P and norswertianin production in root cultures; their contents were enhanced 6.4- and 18.6-fold, respectively, compared with the wild plants. The extract of these roots displayed the highest antioxidant capacity (IC50 = 66.57 μg ml-1). The established shoot and root propagation protocols facilitate in vitro conservation of G. clusii, and provides a promising tool for the large scale production of valuable secoiridoids and xanthones.This study investigated the proteome modulation and physiological responses of Sorghum bicolor plants grown in nutrient solutions containing nitrate (NO3-) or ammonium (NH4+) at 5.0 mM, and subjected to salinity with 75 mM NaCl for ten days. Salinity promoted significant reductions in leaf area, root and shoot dry mass of sorghum plants, regardless of nitrogen source; however, higher growth was observed in ammonium-grown plants. The better performance of ammonium-fed stressed plants was associated with low hydrogen peroxide accumulation, and improved CO2 assimilation and K+/Na+ homeostasis under salinity. Proteomic study revealed a nitrogen source-induced differential modulation in proteins related to photosynthesis/carbon metabolism, energy metabolism, response to stress and other cellular processes. Nitrate-fed plants induced thylakoidal electron transport chain proteins and structural and carbon assimilation enzymes, but these mechanisms seemed to be insufficient to mitigate salt damage in photosynthetic performance. In contrast, the greater tolerance to salinity of ammonium-grown plants may have arisen from i.) de novo synthesis or upregulation of enzymes from photosynthetic/carbon metabolism, which resulted in better CO2 assimilation rates under NaCl-stress; ii.) activation of proteins involved in energy metabolism which made available energy for salt responses, most likely by proton pumps and Na+/H+ antiporters; and iii.) reprogramming of proteins involved in response to stress and other metabolic processes, constituting intricate pathways of salt responses. Overall, our findings not only provide new insights of molecular basis of salt tolerance in sorghum plants induced by ammonium nutrition, but also give new perspectives to develop biotechnological strategies to generate more salt-tolerant crops.Aggression is a complex behavior, underpinned by cross talk between several biomolecules. click here To date a composite molecular network of the behavioral disorder has not been constructed. In short, 327 genes were recruited in the study after extensive literature survey and subsequent shortlisting by sieving out the comorbidities like cancer and other pathological and physiological ailments, other languages and repeated citations. Subsequent String network analysis coalesces 275 genes in a network with 2223 edges. The developed network was then subjected to delineate modules using MCODE which via gene clustering on the basis of gene ontology segregate all genes into 14 modules. Of these, as expected top 5 modules involved entailing of neuronal signaling pathways with redundant repetitions. Finally, 10 genes (known) were picked randomly, accounting average module size, and subjected to the network analysis with 100,000 bootstrap replicates.
