Eventually the schools are going to be closed.
Kids were either forced or told to join the red guard.
More academic students were sent to prison camps (but only if they were against the government)
The cultural revolution ended when Mao dies in 1976.
China really evolves after the death of Mao.
By the 90's everything is made in China, almost everything in America is made in China.
Somewhere around 1.5million people died during the cultural revolution.
Most people committed suicide.
After Mao, everything changed.
They offered benefits for couples.
One Child Policy - It didn't apply to people in rural places because if you lived on a farm, you needed more children.
India botched their one child policy except they hired doctors to go into the jungles and perform a prosedure so there could be no babies.
In terms of Korea, things get tense in the 1950s.
The North wants to unify in the 1950. In June 25th, 1950, the North invades the South. (North is communist, South is democratic).
The South Koreans were not prepared for this at all, and the U.S. troops were gone. So the North crushed the South during that summer.
Then president Truman gets involved. Now the Americans are pushing the Northern Koreans out of the South and back into China.
But China doesnt want any U.S. soldiers in China. So China fears the United States. So the Chinese give North Korea 300,000 troops to fight.
38th parallel - the boundary between North and South Korea.
Eventually both sides end up back at the 38th parallel and no one is advancing.
There is about a year of prisoner exchange.
They eventually start peace talks, but North Korea keeps threatening Nuclear War.

Vietnam was eventually a french colony.
