01). Different alleles and genotypes of the genes under study were detected. Short interspersed nuclear element (SINE) -/- genotype of FSHβ revealed significantly higher litter traits (p less then .05, LSB p less then .01). The LWW was also found to be significantly influenced by ESR BB and AB, EGF AB and BB, and PRLR CC genotypes (p less then .05). Although we did not find statistically significant and consistently superior litter traits with respect to different genotypes of other studied genes than genotype SINE -/- of the FSHβ, PRLR CC genotype demonstrated superior performances for all the litter traits. Our study revealed the FSHβ as a potential candidate genetic marker for litter traits in indigenous pig breeds of India.
Little is known about the demand for out-of-hours (OOH) dermatology in the UK, and this can make commissioning of acute services difficult. The East Midlands region has a population of 4.5 million people, with variable access to OOH dermatology services.
We sought to investigate the provision of, and demand for, OOH dermatology services across the region with a view to informing commissioning decisions for the future.
We contacted all dermatology departments in the East Midlands region to establish what level of service was commissioned at evenings and weekends. At the sites providing any form of OOH service, we recorded all requests for advice received after 17.00h on weekdays, or at any time during weekends and bank holidays over a 3-month period from October to December 2019.
The OOH services provided ranged from 24h/day cover 7days/week at one site, to no formal provision across much of the rest of the region. In total, 125 calls were received during the study period, averaging 1 call per day on weekday evenings, and 2 calls per day at weekends and on bank holidays. Of these 125 calls, 11 patients (9%) were prioritized and seen by the on-call dermatologist on the day of referral, and 9 of these had potentially life-threatening skin conditions. A further 39 (31%) were deemed to need review within 24h and 22 (18%) within 48h. The remaining 42% were given appointments within 7days or dealt with by telephone advice.
The demand for OOH dermatology across the East Midlands is low, but access to timely dermatology advice is essential in some situations. find more Commissioning of a regional dermatology OOH service incorporating digital technology may help to improve the equity of access for all patients across the region.

Although a food acceptance questionnaire is useful for subjective masticatory function assessments, its characteristics and limitations when applied to patients with removable dentures have been unclear. We therefore assessed the relationship between the subjective and objective masticatory function and explored whether or not a decreased masticatory function could be evaluated by food acceptance questionnaire.
One hundred and nineteen patients >60years old with removable partial and/or complete dentures participated. Food acceptance score (FAS) was calculated by using Sato's questionnaire with 20 food items. Masticatory performance (MP) was assessed by a visual scoring method using a test gummy jelly (UHA Mikakuto). Simple/multiple regression analyses were performed to explain the objective masticatory function. The cut-off value of FAS was determined to predict a decreased masticatory function by sensitivity, specificity and receiver operating characteristics curve.
No significant gender differences in MP or FAS were noted. Although both MP and FAS increased with the number of functional teeth, FAS was not significantly affected by age. The number of functional teeth, FAS and age had significant correlations with MP, with the number of functional teeth showing the strongest correlation. Multiple linear regression analyses identified the FAS as a significant explanatory variable for MP, and 70 was the optimal cut-off value for detecting a decreased masticatory function (MP score≤2) in the diagnosis of 'oral hypofunction'.
Using FAS to assess the MP was deemed appropriate, and a score of 70 was the optimal cut-off value for detecting a decreased masticatory function.

Also, the stress-response function of the KMM emulsions was compared with that of the whey protein concentrate (WPC) emulsions in terms of zeta potential, size, and rheology. The stress experiments were conducted at different pH (3 to 9), ionic composition (0 to 500 mM NaCl), and temperatures (30 to 90 °C). The extracted KMM with a molecular weight of 107.2 kDa had 28.8% proteins and 68.22% carbohydrates. With increasing the KMM concentration to 1.5% (w/w), the zeta potential, droplet size, and apparent viscosity of the emulsions reached -35 mV, ∼1 μ, and ∼9 mPa·s, respectively. After applying pH, ionic composition, and temperature, the KMM emulsions were more stable than the WPC emulsions. In conclusion, KMM can be used as a bioemulsifier and be more effective in stabilizing emulsions than WPC. PRACTICAL APPLICATION Yeasts are a rich source of natural materials. In this study, we extracted mannoproteins from the yeast cell wall and evaluated their functional properties to be used as an emulsifier in oil-in-water emulsions. The results of this study confirm that the yeast-derived mannoproteins are good at stabilizing these emulsions either in the presence or absence of different environmental conditions.
The objective of this study was to evaluate patients with ganglionic acetylcholine receptor antibody (gAChR-Ab) positive autoimmune autonomic ganglionopathy using a multimodal testing protocol to characterize their full clinical phenotype and explore biomarkers to quantify immunotherapy response.
We conducted a cohort study of 13 individuals (7 women, 21-69 years of age) with autonomic failure and gAChR-Ab >100 pM identified between 2005 and 2019. From 2018, all patients were longitudinally assessed with cardiovascular, pupillary, urinary, sudomotor, lacrimal and salivary testing, and Composite Autonomic Symptom Score (COMPASS-31) autonomic symptom questionnaires. The orthostatic intolerance ratio was calculated by dividing change in systolic blood pressure over time tolerated on head-up tilt. Eleven patients received immunotherapy.
At first assessment, all 13 patients had cardiovascular and pupillary impairments, 7 of 8 had postganglionic sudomotor dysfunction, 9 of 11 had urinary retention and xeropthalmia, and 6 of 8 had xerostomia.
