Copyright ©ERS 2020.Professional drivers show a higher prevalence of obstructive sleep apnoea (OSA) compared with the general population. Furthermore, there is concern about the association between OSA and car crash risk given that drivers with OSA show an increased risk for car accidents. Despite this risk, OSA is often underdiagnosed and undertreated in this population, mainly due to lack of appropriate screening and sleep study referrals. Polysomnography (PSG), the gold standard test, is inappropriate for systematic screening because of its high expense, complexity and relative inaccessibility in this population. Therefore, there is a strong demand for good screening tools, including both subjective and objective data that may assist in early identification of possible OSA among professional drivers and, thus, aid in PSG examination referral and OSA management in an accredited sleep centre. However, there is considerable disagreement over screening methods and criteria for triggering a sleep study referral in different countries. There is also a strong need for further research in the area of OSA screening of commercial drivers in order to improve the diagnostic accuracy of screening tools and ensure that patients with OSA are accurately identified. Copyright ©ERS 2020.This study explored the target of miR-205 and the effect of miR-205 on the proliferation and migration regulating its target in thyroid cancer cells (TC). Twenty-five pairs of TC and adjacent tissues were collected after surgical resection. Real-time fluorescence quantitative PCR (qRT-PCR) was used to detect the expression of miR-205 in TC tissues and cells (SW579, B-CPAP, TPC-1, WRO). SW579 cells were transfected with miR-205 mimic, and SW579 cells with overexpression of miR-205 were constructed. see more The effects of miR-205 overexpression on the proliferation and migration of SW579 cells were observed by cell counting kit-8 (CCK-8) and Transwell assays, respectively. Luciferase reporter assay was further used to look for the target of miR-205 and to study the mechanism of miR-205 in the proliferation and migration of TC cells. Compared with normal tissues and cells, the expression of miR-205 was significantly reduced in TC tissues (t=3.47, P=0.031) and cells (t=5.41, P=0.016). Overexpression of miR-205 inhibited the proliferation (t=4.12, P=0.035) and migration (t=4.47, P=0.027) of SW579 cells. Luciferase reporter assays found that CCNB2 was a target gene of miR-205 (t=4.63, P=0.024), qRT-PCR and western blot assays confirmed there was negatively correlation between CCNB2 and miR-205 (t=3.55, P=0.029; t=2.86, P=0.043). CCNB2 overexpression reversed the inhibition of miR-205 on the proliferation (t=3.70, P=0.031) and migration (t=4.12, P=0.022) of SW579 cells. In conclusion, miR-205 inhibits the proliferation and migration of TC cells by targeting CCNB2, which may be a potential target of TC therapy. Copyright © Wang et al.Correlation of APOBEC3G expression with liver function indexes of patients with chronic hepatitis B and its expression in chronic hepatitis B, liver cirrhosis and liver cancer were investigated to evaluated the significance of APOBEC3G. Fifty-eight patients with chronic hepatitis B were selected, including 20 cases of chronic hepatitis B, 19 cases of liver cirrhosis and 19 cases of liver cancer. Liver function indexes were detected and analyzed, and messenger ribonucleic acid (mRNA) and protein expression levels of APOBEC3G in liver tissues were detected via reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR), western blotting and immunohistochemistry, followed by correlation analysis. Certain liver function indexes had significant differences among the three groups of patients (P0.05). APOBEC3G expression has a certain correlation with some liver function indexes of patients with chronic hepatitis B. There are significant differences in the expression level of APOBEC3G in patients with hepatitis, liver cirrhosis and liver cancer. A total of 105 cases of patients with leukemia admitted to The First Affiliated Hospital of Bengbu Medical College from August 2016 to November 2018 were selected as research subjects. A total of 49 patients received transfusion of apheresis platelet suspension, and were group A. Fifty-six patients who received mixed multi-person platelet suspension were group B. The percentage plate recovery (PPR) and corrected count increment (CCI), interleukin-11 (IL-11) and soluble glycoprotein 130 (sgp130) levels were compared between the two groups, and the correlation of PPR and CCI with serum IL-11 and sgp130 levels was analyzed. Multivariate logistic regression was used to analyze the independent risk factors affecting ineffective transfusion in patients with leukemia.
