However, their low level in SIF and difficulty to sampling are the biggest obstacle to further potential application. Here, a swellable microneedle array patch (MNAP) with high mechanical strength is presented, and the rapid enrichment of positively charged metabolites is achieved. The MNAP is fabricated by poly (chondroitin sulfate-acrylamido-2-methylpropane sulfonic acid)-gold nanoparticles (GNPs) composites via a micro-molding. The negatively charged copolymer hydrogel not only enrich positively charged metabolites, but also provide swellable capacity. The in situ synthesis of GNPs in the process of copolymerization make the GNPs cross-link to the hydrogel, which further enhance the MNAP mechanical strength and enrichment efficiency for positively charged metabolites. By using the MNAP, around 5 mg SIF in 10 min from the high fat/cholecalciferol/methimazole-induced atherogenesis rat is extracted and 23 metabolites including 13 quaternary ammonium cationic compounds can be detected and quantified by using a LC-QTOF-MS. Dysregulated L-carnitine and choline metabolism are discovered a week earlier in the SIF than in the serum, achieving early diagnosis of the metabolism syndrome disease. This MNAP also helps users complete home sampling for early disease diagnosis and monitoring.
To investigate the risk factors for interstitial lung disease (ILD) and prognosis in patients with idiopathic inflammatory myopathy (IIM).
A retrospective longitudinal study was performed in patients diagnosed with IIM between January 2012 and December 2018.
The study cohort included 91 men and 195 women who were classified as having dermatomyositis (DM, n=183), polymyositis (PM, n=77), or clinical amyopathic DM (CADM, n=26). ILD was identified in 46.5% (n=133) of patients with IIM. The independent risk factors for ILD were age at disease onset, presence of anti-Ro-52 antibody, Gottron's papules, elevated serum immunoglobulin M levels and hypoalbuminemia. Older age at disease onset, ILD, malignancy, and increased serum aspartate aminotransferase and neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (NLR) were identified as the independent predictors for mortality, whereas elevated serum albumin level was associated with a better prognosis. A total of 73 deaths (25.5%) occurred after a median follow-up time of 33months. Infection (49.3%) was the leading cause of death. In the overall cohort, the 1-year, 5-year and cumulative survival rates were 83.2%, 74.2% and 69.4%, respectively. The receiver operating characteristic curve indicated that the optimal cut-off value of NLR for predicting death in IIM was 6.11.
IIM patients have a poor prognosis with substantial mortality, especially in patients who have older age at onset, ILD, malignancy and higher NLR. Close monitoring and aggressive therapies are required in patients having poor predictive factors.

Among various cathode materials in AZIBs, environment-friendly and sustainable organic electrode materials stand out owing to their structural diversity and tunability. However, their limited rate capability and cycle stability remain the obstacles to their further application in AZIBs. Herein, a mixed cathode design strategy including polymerization and carbon materials hybridization is adopted to assemble high-rate and durable AZIBs. Specifically, a polymer/graphene composite cathode with active carbonyls and secondary amine moieties is prepared to construct high-performance aqueous Zn-organic batteries. Furthermore, a hybrid energy storage mechanism involving dual-ion mechanism is confirmed by various ex situ characterization techniques, providing promising battery chemistry. Thus, this work opens up a new path to high performance AZIBs through a rational cathode design.
I-meta-iodobenzylguanidine (
I-MIBG) is effective in relapsed neuroblastoma. The Children's Oncology Group (COG) conducted a pilot study (NCT01175356) to assess tolerability and feasibility of induction chemotherapy followed by
I
MIBG therapy and myeloablative busulfan/melphalan (Bu/Mel) in patients with newly diagnosed high-risk neuroblastoma.
Patients with MIBG-avid high-risk neuroblastoma were eligible. After the first two patients to receive protocol therapy developed severe sinusoidal obstruction syndrome (SOS), the trial was re-designed to include an
I-MIBG dose escalation (12, 15, and 18 mCi/kg), with a required 10-week gap before Bu/Mel administration. Patients who completed induction chemotherapy were evaluable for assessment of
I-MIBG feasibility; those who completed
I-MIBG therapy were evaluable for assessment of
I-MIBG + Bu/Mel feasibility.
Fifty-nine of 68 patients (86.8%) who completed induction chemotherapy received
I-MIBG. Thirty-seven of 45 patients (82.2%) evalua cooperative group setting, laying the groundwork for a cooperative randomized trial (NCT03126916) testing the addition of 131 I-MIBG during induction therapy.
Adjuvant chemotherapy has been shown to improve survival in patients with completely resected early-stage non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). This study evaluated real-world relapse rates and healthcare resource utilization in patients with stage II-IIIB NSCLC receiving adjuvant therapy in a community oncology setting after complete resection.
The study included patients with stage II-IIIB NSCLC and complete resection receiving any adjuvant therapy during 06/2008-04/2017 at US Oncology Network clinics, with follow-up through 04/2019. Primary endpoints were rate of relapse, time to relapse (TTR), disease-free survival (DFS), overall survival (OS), and monthly emergency department (ED) visits and hospitalizations before and after relapse.
The study identified 456 patients; median age was 66 years, 50% were male. In patients with relapse (45.2%), median follow-up was 31.7months and median TTR was 13.7months. Median DFS in the overall population was 42.9months. Median OS was 82.4months in the overall population and shorter in patients with relapse than without relapse (41.
