In late 2019, a new coronavirus capable of infecting humans, SARS-CoV-2, was identified in Wuhan, China. The resultant respiratory disease was subsequently named COVID-19. In March 2020, in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, primary care optometry practices only remained open to deliver essential or emergency eye care. This study aimed to characterise the experiences of United Kingdom (UK)-based primary care optometrists during the COVID-19 pandemic.

An email invitation to participate in an online cross-sectional survey was sent to 3000 UK-based, currently practicing members of The College of Optometrists (UK). Responses to the structured questionnaire were analysed using descriptive statistics, including frequencies, means and standard deviations. Frequency analyses were used to evaluate items with multiple responses. Free-text responses were examined using thematic analyses.

After data cleaning, a total of 1250 responses remained. Sixty-three percent were female, 70% self-identified as being of white d any future pandemics.
The findings provide an overview of changes to optometric practice in the UK during the COVID-19 pandemic. The results may be used to inform the development of professional guidance and facilitate resource allocation for safe and effective eye care during this and any future pandemics.Eviction of renter-occupied homes is an emerging public health crisis adversely impacting populations already at risk. Although housing quality and home-owner foreclosures have been linked to health outcomes, the relationship between eviction of renter-occupied homes and health has not been well established. The demographics and socioeconomic status of renters differs from homeowners, as such any relationship with health outcomes should be distinguished between the two. The aim of this study is to provide a descriptive analysis of the relationship between renter-specific eviction and unhealthy behaviours at the census tract level. Using data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention 500 Cities Project, the Eviction Lab and the U.S. Census Bureau, this study assesses the relationship between eviction rates and health indicators for 1,267 urban census tracts in Illinois in 2016. Binge drinking, current smoking, no leisure-time physical activity, obesity and sleeping less then 7 hr were used as indicators of unhealthy behaviour as categorised by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention500 Cities Project. Unadjusted and adjusted linear regression models were used to assess and describe the relationship between each of the dependent variables and each of the independent variables. All five of the unhealthy behaviour indicators were found to be significantly associated with eviction rates and eviction filing rates after adjustment for confounding variables. This study contributes to the understudied area of research focused on how eviction rates contribute to the social determinants of health for already at-risk populations.
This research aimed to survey a sample of nursing students and PharmD students in Jordan about their knowledge of pediatric palliative care (PPC) in the context of treating terminally ill children.

A descriptive, cross-sectional, correlational design was used to fulfill the goal of this research. A convenience sample of nursing and PharmD students currently studying in Jordan University of Science and Technology in Jordan was recruited to complete a survey that contained 20 statements about issues on and around the subject of PPC RESULTS The results showed that there a significant difference in PPC between nurses and PharmD students. Mother's education (t= 2.158, p= .032) and being a nursing or PharmD student (t=1.969, p=.050) were associated with knowledge toward PPC. Other listed factors such as gender, working ward, and age were not associated with knowledge toward PPC.

This study was conducted to investigate whether Melasolv™ is effective for the skin of ASEAN (Southeast Asia) women.

We recruited ASEAN women in Singapore and divided them into two groups (active group vs. placebo group). Melasolv
and placebo formulations were applied twice a day for 12weeks. The changes in the pigmented spots were visually evaluated by an expert and assessed using a spectrophotometer and Mexameter at 0, 4, 8, and 12weeks.

The visual evaluation revealed significant improvements, in both size and color intensity, in the active group compared with those in the placebo group at 12weeks. In the spectrophotometric evaluation, the L* value of the pigmented spots in the active group was significantly higher than that in the placebo group at 12weeks.
