4 ± 8.6) than the CG (19.4 ± 11.1; p 0.05). CONCLUSIONS A structured exercise program might be a useful treatment option for women at risk for prenatal depression.BACKGROUND Studies of Internet gaming disorder (IGD) suggest an imbalanced relationship between cognitive control and reward processing in people with IGD. However, it remains unclear how these two systems interact with each other, and whether they could serve as neurobiological markers for IGD. METHODS Fifty IGD subjects and matched individuals with recreational game use (RGU) were selected and compared when they were performing a cue-craving task. Regions of interests [anterior cingulate cortex (ACC), lentiform nucleus] were selected based on the comparison between brain responses to gaming-related cues and neutral cues. Directional connectivities among these brain regions were determined using Bayesian estimation. selleck We additionally examined the posterior cingulate cortex (PCC) in a separate analysis based on data implicating the PCC in craving in addiction. RESULTS During fixed-connectivity analyses, IGD subjects showed blunted ACC-to-lentiform and lentiform-to-ACC connectivity relative to RGU subjects, especially in the left hemisphere. When facing gaming cues, IGD subjects trended toward lower left-hemispheric modulatory effects in ACC-to-lentiform connectivity than RGU subjects. Self-reported cue-related craving prior to scanning correlated inversely with left-hemispheric modulatory effects in ACC-to-lentiform connectivity. CONCLUSIONS The results suggesting that prefrontal-to-lentiform connectivity is impaired in IGD provides a possible neurobiological mechanism for difficulties in controlling gaming-cue-elicited cravings. Reduced connectivity ACC-lentiform connectivity may be a useful neurobiological marker for IGD.Sierra Leone is the country with highest maternal mortality and infections are the underlying cause in 11% of maternal deaths, but the real burden remains unknown. This study aims to determine the incidence and risk factors of surgical site infection (SSI) post-caesarean section (CS) in women admitted to Princess Christian Maternity Hospital (PCMH) in Freetown, Sierra Leone. A prospective case-control (13 ratio) study was implemented from 1 May 2018 to 30 April 2019 and 11 women presenting with suspected or confirmed infection post-CS were screened for inclusion as a case. For each case, three patients undergoing CS on the same day and admitted to the same ward, but not presenting with SSI, were selected as controls. The post-CS infection rate was 10.9%. Two hundred and fifty-four clinically confirmed cases were enrolled and matched with 762 control patients. By multivariable analysis, the risk factors for SSI were being single (odds ratio (OR) 1.48, 95% confidence interval (CI) 1.36-1.66), low education level (OR 1.68, 95% CI 1.55-1.84), previous CS (OR 1.27, 95% CI 1.10-1.52), presenting with premature membranes rupture (OR 1.49, 95% CI 1.18-1.88), a long decision-incision time (OR 2.08, 95% CI 1.74-2.24) and a high missing post-CS antibiotic doses rate (OR 2.52, 95% CI 2.10-2.85).OBJECTIVE We investigated the association between the consumption of tomato and lycopene and cancer mortality among US adults. DESIGN Prospective. SETTING The National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (1999-2010). PARTICIPANTS Participants with estimated dietary data on tomato and lycopene consumption were included. Outcome data up until 31 December 2011 were also ascertained. Cox proportional hazard regression models were used to relate baseline tomato and lycopene consumption with cancer mortality. We conducted a competing-risk survival analysis to account for deaths from other causes. RESULTS Adjusted Cox models showed that tomato and lycopene intake were inversely related (hazard ratio (95 % CI)) to cancer mortality 0·86 (0·81, 0·92) and 0·79 (0·74, 0·82), respectively. In the adjusted competing-risk models, the sub-hazard ratios (95 % CI) were 0·89 (0·83, 0·94) and 0·82 (0·78, 0·86) for cancer mortality for tomato and lycopene intake, respectively. No significant interaction was found for the association between tomato and lycopene consumption and cancer mortality while comparing older (aged >50 years) v. younger adults (Pinteraction > 0·173 for all) and obese v. non-obese (Pinteraction > 0·352 for all). CONCLUSIONS Our results demonstrate the potential beneficial effects of a high dietary intake of tomato and lycopene on cancer death. Further prospective studies are needed to explore the association.Ventricular septal defect is the most common type of CHD, and transcatheter ventricular septal defect closure has been shown to be an alternative to surgical closure with acceptable mortality and morbidity as well as encouraging results. Short-term and mid-term follow-ups have indicated the safety and efficacy of transcatheter closure, but long-term follow-up results were rare. In this report, we first found that aortic regurgitation occurred in patients 9-12 years following transcatheter closure and regurgitation were gradually increased. The findings indicate that the long-term outcome of transcatheter closure of ventricular septal defect may not be as satisfied as expected.OBJECTIVE To assess the Na content and price of bread available in bakeries in the city of Maputo in 2018 and describe trends since 2012. DESIGN Cross-sectional evaluation of bread sold in twenty bakeries in the city of Maputo. Three loaves of white and three loaves of brown bread were collected from each bakery when available, and Na contents were quantified by flame photometry. To assess trends, samples of white bread collected in 2012 and analysed using the same methodology were compared with samples of white bread collected in 2018 from the same bakeries. SETTING City of Maputo, capital of Mozambique. RESULTS In 2018, the mean (range) Na content in mg/100 g of white and brown breads were 419·1 (325·4-538·8) and 389·8 (248·0-609·0), respectively. Non-compliance with Na targets in bread according to the South African regulation ( less then 380 mg/100 g) was observed in 70 % of white and 43 % of brown bread samples. A total of twelve bakeries had samples evaluated in both 2012 and 2018; among these, the mean Na content in white bread decreased by just over 10 % - the mean difference (95 % CI) was 46·6 mg/100 g (1·7, 91·5); and there was a significant increase of 3·7-5·4 meticais in the mean price per 100 g of white bread.
