Are You In Search Of Inspiration? Look Up Best Coffee Machine Pod
Best Coffee Machine Pods

Pod coffee machines make it simple to get your caffeine fix in the morning. Unlike a traditional machine they offer pre-packed pods of espresso or ground coffee to make the process faster.

If you are looking for the best pod coffee machine, choose one that has the best options to adjust the size of the drink and temperatures. Also, make sure that the machine can handle the use of reusable pods.

1. Nespresso Vertuo

Nespresso is a leader in pod-brewing, and a favourite of espresso lovers. The capsules and machines of the company are highly evaluated in terms of quality and sustainability. The capsules are made of 80 percent recyclable materials and are fully compostable. They contain less plastic and have a smaller carbon footprint than traditional coffee bags. In addition, Nespresso partners with green-certified organizations to promote responsible farming and fair working conditions.

The Nespresso Vertuo range includes several machines that make a rich and delicious cup of coffee or espresso with a perfect crema. VertuoPlus Deluxe and VertuoPlus models have advanced features, such as automatic milk heating as well as customizable drink settings. These machines are easy-to-use and feature a sleek design that will look great on your kitchen counter.

Both the X model and the Deluxe model feature a large reservoir as well as a slim body. Centrifusion, a new innovative extraction technique, makes up to 7,500 revolutions per minute to make espresso or coffee. This produces a smooth, consistent crema that is saturated to a high degree even in smaller cups.

Nespresso capsules are more expensive than compatible pods from third parties sold in grocery stores and online retailers. However, they offer an array of flavors and intensities. The company frequently offers limited-edition items as well. The machines of the company are very easy to use, and the Vertuoline has fewer steps than the original Nespresso line which only produces espresso.

The Vertuoline also comes with two sizes of capsules -- the smaller espresso size and the gran lungo size -- for those who prefer shorter drinks. The larger alto and mug capsules are suitable for hearty cups that require more intensely roasted coffee. The Nespresso Vertuoline makes a great cup of drip coffee, unlike some of the other pod machines we tried.

2. Illy X7.1

This pod coffee maker is a sleek, high-spec machine made with durable and appealing materials. It is a little more expensive than the other machines we tried, but it provides excellent, reliable performance with an attractive design that can be a perfect fit for any kitchen.

The X7.1 utilizes a patent-pending system that reads the barcodes on every capsule to determine their identity. It then pre-wets and infuses with the correct amount of distilled water. This is a great benefit for those who desire a hassle-free, hands-off automation. However, it could be a problem for those who prefer to alter settings and choose their own brew strength or size. The machine can dispense espresso double espresso, gran lungo alto and mug drinks with a fine layer of crema.

The X7.1 is not only an absolute standout in its brewing technology but also for its other features. For instance, it is one of the only coffee machines we've tested that offers a height-adjustable drip tray to optimise the dimensions and shape of the coffee mug. It comes with a stainless-steel milk jug that can be used to make cappuccinos or lattes. The X7.1 includes an energy-saving sleeping mode as well as a detachable holder for pods that makes cleaning easy.

It is compatible with most Keurig K-Cups and Nespresso capsules and Bruvi's own B-Pods. These pods differ from K-Cups or other popular pods because they are made up of ground coffee instead of a teabag and contain more caffeine than regular espresso. The Bruvi also comes with app compatibility and can be set to brew remotely and on time. It has an ice wand, which can be used to make cappuccinos or lattes frothy.

3. Grind One

If you're not a fan of the plastic-y Nespresso pods or are looking for something less quite as bulky, then the Stockholm-designed Grind One may be the most suitable option for you. Two members of the Real Homes team have been testing it in their kitchens and both absolutely love it. It's a sleek stainless steel geometric machine that looks super stylish and is simple to use. Simply place a pod, choose whether you'd like a lungo or a short express and press the button. The light that flashes will inform you whether it's brewing or completed, and the coffee starts coming out. There's no steam wand nor milk carafe. However, you can add toppings to your coffee with hot or cold milk however you'd like.

This machine is designed to work with Grind's own compostable, recyclable and reusable pods. This means you're not only cutting down on your coffee waste (which could take hundreds of years to break down) but the pods themselves are made of no plastic and are organic. They cost around 50p each and you can throw them into your food waste bin or garden compost after they're empty.

best cheap coffee machine is PS275, and you can also add an additional milk frother for an additional PS325. It's more expensive than a lot of Nespresso-branded pods but it's a very sleek, well designed, and versatile machine. It is also the smallest and therefore won't require much counter space. It has a raised tray that latches on to a series notches, which can be used with the waste bin to adjust the height.

4. Grind 2

If you're looking for simple and quick cups of coffee, this pod machine eliminates the hassle making espresso. It can brew a quick or long shot, with three different settings for temperature and extraction. Our coffee enthusiast was enthralled by its ability to create an excellent espresso. Its temperature and crema (which should have a chestnut colour that lasts until the final sip and is a warm shade of brown) were flawless. Its sleek design and sturdy appealing materials also helped it stand out from the competition.

Our coffee lover also tested the Grind One for its ease of use. The robust switch has a satisfying feel, with the option to programme your preferred length or short shot, as well as a clear display. You can also choose to automatically dispense hot water with your coffee that helps the ground settle and enhances your drink's flavour. A milk frother that is useful is included, making this pod coffee maker an excellent all-rounder.

These machines also take out the sloppy parts of espresso making, such as grinding, dosing, and tamping of the ground beans. This also reduces the number of items that have to be cleaned and recycled. This makes them an ideal option for those with limited kitchen space. If you're looking to broaden your options you can use an additional milk frother to make lattes and cappuccinos. Alternatively, you could go with a manual coffee press, like the Aeropress, which combines an environment-friendly design with an opulent taste that machines can provide. It's a bit more work, which means it's not suitable for everyone.

5. Lavazza Idola

Unlike the more expensive Lavazza Voicy pod coffee maker, this model doesn't include a milk frother but is ideal for those who love espresso, ristretto, or caffe lungo. It's also one of the quietest machines on the market so you can sip your morning coffee while your kids are asleep.

You can set a size for your cup that is suitable for your taste and select to increase the temperature to help the brew to go through faster with the push of one button. You can also keep up with the maintenance schedule by receiving notifications when the capsule bin is empty or when the water tank is due to be filled up.

The machine does not do any frothing, however you can make cappuccinos as well as flat whites using an additional milk container. Many buyers have left positive reviews on Amazon and John Lewis. They laud the quiet operation and flexibility of the machine, such as different lengths of brews and the capacity to hold capsules that are used.

While there's not a huge number of reviews from customers however, the general consensus is that this is a great value pod coffee machine for those who like an easy set-up. It's more expensive compared to the Nespresso Vertuo Pop but comes with the best Lavazza pods. It is also among the quietest machines on the market. If you want to make various coffees, we recommend you look into one of our top alternatives. For more information, read our full Lavazza Idola review.
