Palladium-Catalyzed Amination of N-Free 2-Chloro-7-azaindole.
Surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) is recognized as one of the most sensitive spectroscopic tools for chemical and biological detections. Hotspots engineering has expedited promotion of SERS performance over the past few decades. Recently, molecular enrichment has proven to be another effective approach to improve the SERS performance. In this work, we propose a concept of "motile hotspots" to realize ultrasensitive SERS sensing by combining hotspots engineering and active molecular enrichment. High-density plasmonic nanostructure-supporting hotspots are assembled on the tubular outer wall of micromotors via nanoimprint and rolling origami techniques. The dense hotspots carried on these hierarchically structured micromotors (HSMs) can be magnet-powered to actively enrich molecules in fluid. The active enrichment manner of HSMs is revealed to be effective in accelerating the process of molecular adsorption. Consequently, SERS intensity increases significantly because of more molecules being adjacent to the hotspots after active molecular enrichment. This "motile hotspots" concept provides a synergistical approach in constructing a SERS platform with high performance. Moreover, the newly developed construction method of HSMs manifests the possibility of tailoring tubular length and diameter as well as surface patterns on the outer wall of HSMs, demonstrating good flexibility in constructing customized micromotors for various applications. The emerging organic ion plastic crystals (OIPCs) are the most promising candidates used as solid-state electrolytes in a range of ionic devices. To endow an OIPC with additional functionality may create a new type of material for multifunctional devices. Herein, we present an ion plastic crystal, [EMIm][Ni(mnt)2] (1; [EMIm]+ = 1-ethyl-3-methylimidazolium and mnt2- = maleonitriledithiolate), and its crystal consists of twin dimeric chains of [Ni(mnt)2]- anions, embraced by [EMIm]+ cations. A crystal-to-plastic crystal transformation with a large latent heat that occurred at ∼367/337 K on heating/cooling is confirmed by the differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) technique. The plastic crystal phase in 1, characterized by variable temperature powder X-ray diffraction (PXRD) and optical microscopy images, spans a broad temperature range with ΔT ∼123/153 K on heating/cooling (DSC measurement), and the wide ΔT is relevant to an extra stable anion chain owing to the strong antiferromagnetic (AFM) interactions protecting the chain from collapse in the plastic crystal state. 1 is a single-component ion plastic crystal with a record high ion conductivity, 0.21 S·cm-1, at 453 K. The crystal-to-plastic crystal transformation in 1 is coupled to a bistable magnetic transition to give a multi-in-one multifunctional material. This study provides a creative thought for the design of OIPCs with striking thermal, electrical, and magnetic multifunctionality. Objective To develop an emergency training program of personal protective equipment (PPE) for general healthcare workers (HCWs) who may be under the threat of Corona Virus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) and evaluate the effect of the program. Methods A three-stage training program was designed. The complete clinical workflow together with infectious disease ward was simulated. To verify the effect of the program, an experimental training with pre- and post-test was conducted before large-scale training. Results Post-test scores were significantly improved when compared with the pre-test scores. Among all PPE, N95 respirator and protective coverall needed training most. Meanwhile, "proficiency level" and "mutual check & help" also needed to be strengthened as independent scoring points. Conclusion This training program significantly improved the performances of participants. It may therefore be applied for general HCWs on a larger scale.Transgender men are individuals who identify as men but were assigned female at birth. Gender-affirming medications include testosterone hormone therapy, known for its diverse effects throughout the body, which include endometrial atrophy and the induction of amenorrhea by suppressing ovulation, without however affecting the ovarian follicle pool. This paper reports the first case in Brazil involving a transgender man and a cisgender woman attempting to form a family. A 34-year-old transgender man and a 28-year-old woman came to our assisted reproduction service. He had been on testosterone for two years. At their initial consultation, testosterone therapy was discontinued. Controlled ovarian stimulation for the transgender man was achieved using a combination of recombinant gonadotropins FSH and LH. Pituitary blockage was performed using a GnRH antagonist protocol. Twenty follicles were aspirated and 16 oocytes were retrieved, 12 of which mature. They were inseminated with donor semen. On the fifth day of development, one high quality blastocyst was transferred to the cisgender woman, resulting in an ongoing pregnancy. Five supernumerary embryos were cryopreserved. Controlled ovarian stimulation with high quality oocytes, high quality embryos, and clinical pregnancy are possible for transgender men, even with a history of testosterone use. Objective School-based reproductive health education programs (RHEP) motivate adolescent girls to maintain and improve their health, and prevent diseases. learn more The purpose of this PAR was to design, implement and evaluate RHEP to strengthen adolescent girl's reproductive health. Methods The PAR process was selected as an RHEP strategy, and it has four main phases, including 1) assessment to explore the reproductive health education needs (RHEN) of adolescent girls. We collected data through in-depth individual interviews with 11 adolescent girls (12-18 years) in high school, 2 focus group discussions (FGD), and 4 interviews with the key informants. 2) Intervention design involved a Delphi approach to design an intervention that would address each need using 7 expert participants with a background in primary health, health promotion and other youth-focused professions. 3) In the action plan phase, the workshops, lecture meetings, counseling, and FGD were organized by the research team. 4) The impact of the intervention was evaluated through a mixed evaluation methodology, a semi-structured interviews with stakeholders and key informant, quasi-experimental assessment and FGD.
