We evaluated the time constants of gain recovery after high ion-flux detection for two sets of two-stage MCP detectors to obtain values of 1,600 and 180 μs for channel plate resistances of 500 and 71 MΩ, respectively. The obtained time constants from the gains determined at various values of ∆t were 0.48 and 0.38 fold (for 500 and 71 MΩ, respectively) of the values suggested from the channel plate resistance and capacitance. The search for novel bioactive compounds and the identification of known ones in the plant kingdom are a challenge for the scientists working in different fields of plant science. In the recent years, mass spectrometry is the most frequently applied method for analysis of complex mixtures of plant metabolites. Twenty-two alkaloids of different lycorine skeleton subtypes (with a Δ3,4 double bond, with a Δ4,11 double bond, with saturated rings C and D, and with aromatic ring C) were subjected to separation with gas chromatography and studied with electron impact mass spectrometry including single quadropole (GC-EIMS), tandem mass (GC-EIMS/MS) and high resolution mass (EI-HRMS) detectors in order to determine their fragmentation pattern. The compounds showed excellent separation and specific MS fragmentation allowing structural determination. The GC-MS can be successfully applied for searching new and identification of known bioactive molecules, chemotaxonomical and chemoecological studies, among others, within the Amaryllidoideae subfamily. Our study aimed to determine if congenital anomalies are associated with breech presentation at delivery. We conducted a nationwide, retrospective population-based record linkage study and analyzed all singleton births in Finland from 1996 to 2016 using the mandatory health register data collected by the Finnish Institute for Health and Welfare. We compared all major congenital anomalies detected during pregnancy, birth, or the first year of life according to the fetus's presentation at the time of delivery using X2 -square statistic and Student's t test. We adjusted the results for known risk factors for congenital anomalies to estimate adjusted odds ratios and 95% confidence intervals. Fetuses in breech presentation at delivery had an increased risk for congenital anomalies (6.5%) compared with fetuses in cephalic presentation (3.6%), P less then .001. Breech presentation was associated with nearly all types of examined congenital anomalies. The strongest associations were observed with congenital deformities of the hip, the central nervous system, the respiratory system, and the musculoskeletal system. Our study supports the theory that breech presentation is, in many cases, a symptom of a fundamental problem in fetal morphogenesis or function. Neonates born in the breech presentation have a higher risk of congenital anomalies and should undergo a postnatal screening.
Globally, antibiotics misuse by the public has been reported in the era of COVID-19, despite the discouraging instructions of the World Health Organization, especially for mild cases.
Is to describe this antibiotic misuse and its contributing factors. Also, to measure the pharmacists' application of infection preventive practices during the pandemic.
A cross-sectional study was conducted among randomly selected Egyptian community pharmacists (Center, East, Delta, and Upper Egypt) using a questionnaire and direct interviews from 1 to 30 August 2020. The questionnaire consisted of two parts, the first covered pharmacist's demographic data and their application of basic infection preventive practices (eg, wearing face masks, regular hand sanitization, etc), and the other part was related to antibiotic dispensing patterns. Data were descriptively analyzed and the impact of participant experience on the responses was evaluated using the χ
test.
From 480 randomly selected Egyptian community pharmacists, 4ations supporting the idea of antibiotic misuse.
Pharmacists applied suitable sanitation and infection control protocols. Meanwhile, antibiotics were dispensed heavily during this pandemic without proper clinical indication and for long durations supporting the idea of antibiotic misuse.
To develop a reliable and valid measure of social connectedness among nursing home residents with Alzheimer's disease and related dementias (ADRD) using items available in the Minimum Dataset 3.0 (MDS).
We conducted a retrospective scale development study using the 2016 MDS with two populations of nursing home residents with ADRD (1) new admissions (not post-acute care) (n=146,694); (2) residents with comprehensive annual assessments (n=294,704). Twenty-nine items were included for consideration. Psychometric evaluation included content validity, item analysis, internal consistency reliability, criterion-related validity, and exploratory factor analysis. Analyses were stratified by self- or staff-assessed pain.
The resulting five item Social Connectedness Index (SCI) has good content (Fleiss Kappa=0.67), criterion-related and construct validity and adequate internal consistency reliability (Kuder Richardson-20 0.63-0.74) in persons with ADRD. As anticipated, younger residents, men, and those with severe cognitive impairment, anxiety, and depression were more likely to be categorized in the low social connectedness group.
The SCI is a promising measure for estimating the amount of social connectedness present for nursing home residents with ADRD. learn more Further work needs to be done to evaluate the usefulness of the SCI for evaluating health and well-being among this population over time.

A synergistic effect of cyclooxygenase inhibitors (COX-I) and immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs) has been suggested. However, the impact of COX-I on the efficacy of ICIs is unclear. Here, we aimed to evaluate the relationship between COX-I use and the efficacy of ICI in patients with non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC).
We retrospectively reviewed NSCLC patients who received ICI monotherapy. We defined COX-I use as regular use of COX-I other than low-dose aspirin during the initiation of ICIs to the first evaluation of efficacy. The efficacy of ICIs was evaluated with response rate (RR), disease control rate (DCR), progression free survival (PFS), and overall survival (OS). Differences in baseline characteristics by COX-I use were controlled by using an inverse probability of treatment weighting (IPW) adjusted analysis.
A total of 198 patients with NSCLC received ICIs; 128, 50, and 20 patients received nivolumab, pembrolizumab, and atezolizumab, respectively; there were 65 (32.8%) COX-I users. While there was no significant difference in RR (15.
