Cutoff values were pepsinogen I ⩽70 and pepsinogen I/II ratio ⩽3.0. Using ROC curve analysis, the accuracy, sensitivity, specificity, positive predictive value, and negative predictive value were determined to be 87.22%, 78.12%, 90.10%, 71.43%, and 92.86%, respectively, for the diagnosis of GC. The area under the curve was 0.700 (95% confidence interval 0.57-0.83).

The development of neointimal hyperplasia and subsequent stenosis is common in vascular access and is associated with significant morbidity. Percutaneous transluminal angioplasty using balloon inflation was the standard therapy of these lesions. However, the balloon-based approaches were associated with poor vascular access patency rate necessitating new inventions. In this article, we review the available literature regarding the use of stents in treating dialysis vascular access stenotic lesions. Further, we review the major clinical trials of stent use in different anatomic locations and in different clinical scenarios.This study aimed to assess whether educational level is an independent determinant for sexually transmitted infections (STIs) among clients consulting Dutch sexual health centres (SHCs). With data from the National STI surveillance database (2015-2017), generalized estimating equations corrected for (sexual) risk factors were used to estimate associations between educational level and chlamydia and gonorrhoea among women (n = 146,020), heterosexual men (n = 82,882) and men who have sex with men (MSM) (n = 52,149) and syphilis and HIV among MSM. Compared to the highest educational level (bachelor/master), all lower educational levels were associated with gonorrhoea among women (adjusted odds ratio 1.40; 95% CI 1.18-1.66 for higher general/pre-university level to 3.57; 95% CI 2.66-4.81 for no education/elementary school level) and heterosexual men (respectively 1.36; 1.06-1.74 to 3.84; 2.89-5.09). Women with no education/elementary school level (1.37; 1.17-1.62) and heterosexual clients with (pre-)vocational secondary educational level were more likely to test positive for chlamydia (women 1.43; 1.39-1.48 and heterosexual men 1.31; 1.26-1.37) than clients with higher general/pre-university level or bachelor/master level. In MSM, (pre-)vocational secondary educational level was associated with chlamydia (1.16; 1.11-1.22), gonorrhoea (1.15; 1.10-1.21) and syphilis (1.18; 1.08-1.29), and both (pre-)vocational secondary educational level (1.48; 1.25-1.76) and no education/elementary school level (1.81; 1.09-3.00) were associated with HIV. Lower educational levels were independent determinants of STI in SHC clients. Sexual health centres could facilitate STI testing and care among lower educated people by prioritizing their access.
To compare the phaco time parameters including ultrasound time (UST), effective phaco time (EPT), and average phaco power (APP) in eyes with pseudoexfoliation glaucoma (PEG) and had or had not glaucoma filtration surgery.

In this retrospective comparative study, Group 1 was constructed with 84 PEG patients who had not operated previously, and Group 2 was constructed with 49 PEG patients who had glaucoma filtration surgery. The mean values of UST, EPT, and APP were compared. The preoperative clinical characteristics and surgical manipulations were also compared.

The mean ages and male-to-female ratios of the groups were similar (
 > 0.05, for both). There was no difference in the preoperative clinical characteristics, including biometric values between the groups (
 > 0.05, for all). Some surgical manipulations, including pupillary stretching (
 = 0.004), pupillary membrane peeling (
 = 0.021), iris hook using (
 = 0.041), and capsular tension ring implantation (
 = 0.041), were significantly performed more commonly in Group 2. Although the mean UST and EPT values were similar (
 > 0.05, for both), the mean APP value was significantly lower in Group 2 (
 = 0.011).

Needing more surgical manipulation to overcome poor pupillary dilation and weak zonular instability can be a reason for this result.With the increasing number of individuals accessing online child sexual exploitation material (CSEM), there is an urgent need for primary prevention strategies to supplement the traditional focus on arrest and prosecution. We examined whether online warning messages would dissuade individuals from visiting a honeypot website purporting to contain barely legal pornography. Participants (n = 419) seeking the site were randomly assigned to one of five conditions; they went straight to the landing page (control; n = 100) or encountered a warning message advising of the potential harm to viewers (n = 74), potential harm to victims (n = 65), ability of police to track IP addresses (n = 81), or possible illegality of such pornography (n = 99). We measured the attempted click-through to the site. Attrition rates for the warning message conditions were 38% to 52%, compared with 27% for the control group. The most effective messages were those that warned that IP addresses can be traced (odds ratio [OR] = 2.64) and that the pornography may be illegal (OR = 2.99). We argue that warning messages offer a valuable and cost-effective strategy that can be scaled up to help reduce the accessing of CSEM online.
