The South Oaks Gambling Screen (SOGS) is one of the most widely used screening instruments for evaluating addiction to gambling.
The main objective of this study is to analyze whether the SOGS is a reliable instrument and what characteristics of studies on the SOGS are linked to its reported reliability.
A meta-analysis was carried out with 63 studies including 65 independent samples. The mean value of a was .86 (95% CI of .84–.88), with high heterogeneity (I2 = 98.27%). The variables that explain the most heterogeneity were the continent where the study was performed (R2 = .61), application to participants with or without clinical problems (R2 = .58), the form of administration of the questionnaire (R2 = .56), and the standard deviation in the SOGS score (R2 = .13).
The results show that the SOGS is a reliable instrument for evaluating gambling addiction. However, the meta-analysis highlights the need to report the reliability values for each empirical study and to provide a set of recommendations for researchers and professionals who use this instrument.

The Dimensional Obsessive-Compulsive Scale (DOCS) is a well-established tool for assessing obsessive-compulsive symptomatology. A reliability generalization meta-analysis was conducted to estimate the average reliability of DOCS scores and how reliability estimates vary according to the composition and variability of samples, to identify study characteristics that can explain its variability, and to estimate the reliability induction rate.
A literature search produced 86 studies that met the inclusion criteria.
For the DOCS total scores, an average alpha coefficient of .925 was found (95% CI [.920,.931]), as well as mean alphas of .881, .905, .913, and .914 for Contamination, Responsibility, Unacceptable Thoughts, and Symmetry subscales, respectively. Moderator analysis showed that internal consistency fell significantly the more clinical and subclinical participants there were in the sample, and the larger the mean score in the sample for the total scores. The most important moderator variables for the subscales were the standard deviation and the mean of the scores.

There is little research on self-reported negative symptomatology measures in schizophrenia. The aims of this study were to validate the Spanish version of the Motivation and Pleasure Scale-Self-Report (MAP-SR) and determine the concordance between patient-reported outcome measures for reflecting the severity of negative symptoms of schizophrenia and clinician-rated outcome measures.
A sample of 174 subjects who completed the MAP-SR and 104 who completed the Self-Evaluation of Negative Symptoms (SNS) were analyzed. The clinician-reported outcome measures (CROMs) were the Spanish versions of the Clinical Assessment Interview for Negative Symptoms (CAINS) and the Positive and Negative Syndrome Scale (PANSS), while the patient-reported outcome measures (PROMs) were MAP-SR and SNS. Cronbach's a, bivariate analyses and Lin's concordance correlation coefficient (CCC) were calculated.
The Spanish version of the MAP-SR demonstrated excellent reliability (Cronbach's α=.923). Its correlation coefficients were higher with CAINS [CAINS-Total r=.608, p<.005; CAINS-Motivation and Pleasure subscale(CAINS-MAP) r=.662, p<.005] than with PANSS negative scales [PANSS-Negative scale(PANSS-N) r=.393, p<.005; PANSS-Marder Negative Factor(PANSS-MNF) r=.478, p<.005]. Finally, concordance between clinician and patient ratings was low in all cases, varying from a CCC of 0.661 to .392.

Active breaks (ABs) (periods of physical activity during lessons) have demonstrated very positive results on executive functions (EFs) and emotional intelligence (EI).
A sample of 166 Primary school students (83 students in the experimental group and 83 in the control) was involved in this study. The experimental group received 20 periods of weekly ABs (a period of 5-10 minutes, 3-5 times a day for 17 weeks), where physical activity (PA) was combined with curricular content (CC), cooperative work (CM) and EI.
The students in the experimental group improved in all the EF variables and the EI mood, stress management and global indices.

We conducted a literature review following a two-step procedure, looking for papers using the major search engines and selection based on certain criteria.
The document search process yielded 133 results, 82 of which were selected in order to answer some essential research questions in the area. The selected papers were grouped and described by the type of educational systems, the data mining techniques applied, the variables or features used, and how early accurate prediction was possible.
Most of the papers analyzed were about online learning systems and traditional face-to-face learning in secondary and tertiary education; the most commonly-used predictive algorithms were J48, Random Forest, SVM, and Naive Bayes (classification), and logistic and linear regression (regression).
