Generasi pertama komputer adalah ENIAC, dengan bobot 30 ton dan panjang 30 M. Generasi kedua komputer adalah IBM. Generasi ketiga komputer adalah IC. Generasi keempat komputer adalah LSI dan VLSI. Generasi kelima adalah PC, terdapat pentium 1,2,3, dan 4 disana. Generasi ke enam adalah komputer yang akan datang.
