The function of circRNA in the HCC oxaliplatin (OXA) resistance remains largely unknown. In this study, we found that circRNA circFBXO11 was significantly up-regulated in HCC tissues, and the circFBXO11 overexpression was associated with poor prognosis. CircFBXO11 was found to promote the HCC proliferation, cycle progress and OXA resistance. Mechanistically, circFBXO11 was predominantly localized in the cytoplasm and harboured the miR-605, thereby targeting FOXO3 protein. Furthermore, FOXO3 targeted the promoter region of ABCB1 to accelerate its expression. In conclusion, this research reveals the role of circFBXO11/miR-605/FOXO3/ABCB1 axis in the HCC OXA resistance, providing new insight for circRNA-based diagnostic and therapeutic strategies. © 2020 The Authors. These processes can provide greater insight into cognitions and behaviours related to depression and anxiety disorders. This review aimed to examine the relationship of social comparison with depression and anxiety in clinically relevant samples, using a process-based approach. Studies of clinical and subclinical populations that utilized observational or experimental social comparison assessment were considered for review. A systematic literature search in Medline and PsycInfo databases produced 54 relevant studies (49 studies on adults and five on child and adolescent populations), 14 of which were suitable for a meta-analysis. A meta-analysis of the association of social comparison evaluation with depression and anxiety in clinical populations revealed weighted correlations of -0.53 and -0.39, respectively. No subclinical studies were included in a meta-analysis due to a lack of comparable outcomes. Evidence suggests differences between depression and anxiety disorders in information seeking, where frequency and diversity of social comparisons vary; however, studies comparing disorders are lacking. Heterogeneity of experimental studies precluded inclusion in a meta-analysis. A narrative review of experimental data indicated depression and anxiety status is related to reactions to upward comparisons in the domains of affect and behaviour, where individual differences in evaluation can determine affective reactions and how comparison information is further sought. This review suggests social comparison has a significant association with depression and anxiety. All rights reserved.BACKGROUND Accurate prediction of preterm birth (PTB) is still difficult, mostly because of the multifactorial etiology of PTB. Previous studies have been mostly focused on the prediction of PTB in symptomatic women or those presenting with threatened preterm labor. We aimed to study whether complete blood count (CBC) parameters at 20-30 weeks of pregnancy can predict asymptomatic PTB. METHODS In this retrospective case-control study, the preterm and term delivery groups were matched by propensity score-matched (PSM) analysis. Baseline data and the CBC parameters examined at 20-30 weeks of gestation were recorded. RESULTS The combined marker of neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (NLR), hemoglobin (HGB), and platelet distribution width (PDW) accurately predicts PTB at a cutoff value of 0.25, with sensitivity and specificity of 88.6% and 40.5% and negative and positive predictive value of 97.9% and 10.2%, respectively. CONCLUSION The combined marker of CBC parameters can supplement other markers to predict PTB about 10 weeks in advance. This combined marker had a very high negative predictive value for PTB. Therefore, in subjects with normal combined marker value, further screening tests for PTB may be eliminated unless clinical suspicion is high. © 2020 The Authors. Pyrethroid, including lambda-cyhalothrin, has been widely used to control R. padi in the field. This work investigated the resistance levels of R. padi field populations to lambda-cyhalothrin, and analysed biochemical and molecular mechanisms of aphid resistance to the insecticide pyrethroid. RESULTS A lambda-cyhalothrin-resistant field population (JY) was sampled, and a super-kdr mutation, M918L, in the voltage-gated sodium channel (VGSC) was identified in the population. The lambda-cyhalothrin-resistant strain (LC-R) was subsequently established by selecting the field population with lambda-cyhalothrin. All individuals of the R. padi LC-R strain showed the M918L heterozygous mutation in the VGSC IIS4-IIS6 region. Cross-resistance profiles of the LC-R strain to nine insecticides were detected. Both synergistic and enzyme activity studies indicated that cytochrome P450 monooxygenase played an important role in this resistance. Further gene expression analysis showed that seven P450 genes were significantly upregulated in the LC-R strain compared with the susceptible strain. CONCLUSION Field-evolved resistance to pyrethroid insecticides has been found in R. padi. selleck chemical The M918L (super-kdr) mutation in the VGSC was documented for the first time in field samples obtained from an important wheat-growing area.
