De kleine panda leeft hoog in het himalaya gebergte in Azië. Ze leven in de bamboebossen, loofbossen en het liefst bij een snelstromende rivier. Maar omdat het niet makkelijk is om in het himalaya gebergte te komen is er niet veel bekent over de leefomgeving van de kleine panda. Ze hebben de bomen nodig omdat ze veel klimmen en het liefst hoog in de bomen slapen. Ze hebben dan ook brede poten met haren die ervoor zorgen dat ze niet uitglijden. Als ik kijk naar de leefomgeving in Aquazoo en hoe het op internet beschreven staat valt het me wel op dat er geen snelstromende rivier is maar dat is waarschijnlijk niet zo heel belangrijk. Gelukkig zijn er wel veel hoge bomen waar ze in klimmen en slapen. Ook zie je tonnen met voedsel en bruggetjes die te bomen met elkaar verbinden. Ik denk dat Aquazoo bamboebossen in het verblijf moeten doen om het te verbeteren.

Bedreigd
De kleine panda wordt bedreigd doordat zijn leefgebied kleiner wordt. Ook worden ze gedood voor hun vacht en mensen willen ze verkopen als huisdier. Omdat we weinig weten over het leefgebied van de kleine panda is het moeilijk hem te beschermen. Maar gelukkig wordt er in de dierentuin veel onderzoek gedaan.
