The Next Big Event In The Category A1 Rules Industry
Category A1 Rules For Motorcyclists

The category a1 rules apply to those who wish to ride small motorcycles. They have a maximum cylinder power of 35kW. They cannot be directly derived from vehicles with more than double their power.

The open category of drone operations can be divided into three subcategories A1 to A3. You can fly drones with the class label C0 or A1 in the A1 subcategory (flying over people) until January 2024.

A1

Category A1 is the first of three drone categories that are subject to the control of EASA. It applies to aircraft that are up to the maximum takeoff mass (MTOM) that is 25 kilograms. It requires a flight plan as well as a flight log as well as remote identification systems and geoawareness systems. The drone must also be visible to the pilot at all at all times. It is prohibited to fly in the vicinity of people or areas used for recreational, commercial or industrial reasons. The drone must remain below 120 meters.

If you want to fly a drone which is not listed in the categories above, you will need an additional licence from the Civil Aviation Authority. This is called an operational authorization. Here you can learn more about how to apply.

A1 applicants must have a minimum 16 years experience in riding two-wheeled vehicles. They must also have completed the obligatory basic training and pass both a theory and practical test. They also need to have an official medical certificate.

A1 license holders are able to drive mopeds with an engine capacity of not greater than 1250 cc and a power-to-weight ratio that is not more than 0.01 kW/kg. They can also operate motorcycles with an cylinder capacity of not more than 125cc, as also trikes and quad bikes.

The category A1 driving license is designed to provide easier access to the next vehicle category, which permits license holders to drive vehicles with a maximum authorised mass of up 35 kW. This is a reason to get some experience driving less powerful vehicles before moving onto the higher categories of licence.

Up to January 1, 2024, current drones that do not have an CE mark are able to be used in the subcategory A1. This is because they are considered low risk and don't pose a significant threat to the public. However, they must be at least 150 meters away from industries, buildings and recreational areas. In addition, they must not fly over crowds or operate within 5 km of airports and airfields.

A2

You may be eligible to apply for an A1 motorcycle license if you have completed your CBT and are interested in getting a motorcycle license. This allows you to drive an unrestricted motorcycle with no sidecar. The bike must have a maximum cylinder capacity of 125cc, and a maximum power output of 11kW. The licence is only accessible to those who are at least 16 years old. You can find out more about the different categories and the rules they apply to by looking up your driving licence information online.

You can also fly in the A2 sub-category with drones that weigh a total of up to 4kg however, you must keep them at a safe distance from other people during take off and landing. The distances of separation are lateral, not vertical, and the drones must be kept at a minimum of 30m horizontally away from other people, or 5m when in 'low-speed mode'. To fly in this category, you need to also pass the A2 Certificate of Competence exam (A2 CofC).

If you wish to fly larger drones, you will need to apply for a specific category operator's permit that requires you to complete the General VLOS Certificate (GVC) training and flight assessment, plus creating an Operations Manual. The application process is similar to applying for a PfCO. You can learn more about the requirements in our comprehensive guide.

A2 allows you to fly drones with transitional capabilities, which are not yet CE-marked but have been modified to decrease collision risks with people. szkoła motocyklowa will only be able to fly these drones in A2 until the end of 2022, following which they'll need to comply with the A3 regulations.

The A1 and A2 categories are designed to aid you in becoming a safer and confident motorcyclist. The amount of lessons you will need to complete depends on your ability and learning development, but a certain amount of special rides must be taken. This includes at least five-hour lesson on country roads, four on highways, and three at dawn or at night.

A3

This class of drones can be used with a an maximum takeoff mass of 25 kg. It is a less risky operation but stringent precautions must still be taken to prevent incidents. A distance of 150 metres is required between drones and residential, commercial industrial, recreational, and residential areas. This category also requires drones be equipped with an identification system for remotes and Geoawareness Systems.

The tier is also split into sub-categories, A1, A2, or A3. The A1 subcategory allows drones sporting Class Identification Label C0 or C1 to fly over individuals who are not in the drone. It requires an absolute distance of 30m from other drones when flying at a high altitude, or 5 meters in slow flight mode.

Drones bearing the Class Identification Label C2 may be operated under subcategory A2 provided they meet the requirements of size and the remote pilot has passed an additional theory test. This test is designed to assess the remote pilot's knowledge of the operational and technical mitigations to mitigate the dangers of flying larger drones (class C2, weighing less than 4kg mass) close to people. Successful completion of this exam is rewarded with an 'attestation of competence to fly category A2'.

Due to the limited supply of certified drones in this category There are transitional arrangements that allow non-certified 'legacy' drones to be operated in categories A1 and A2 for two years following the new EU regulations come into force. Legacy drones cannot be used to fly over people and must be equipped with an A2 CofC.

To operate a drone in this category you must pass the normal online flyer ID test, and follow up with a second test in the theory department. In addition, you must declare that you have gained some practical knowledge of your drone, and submit an official declaration of competency. These requirements are similar to the driving licence model, where the person who is first granted an endorsement for a less powerful vehicle category will be able to gain access to the higher category.

A4

The DOH is currently working on specific guidelines to be used for category A4. These guidelines will be consistent with other operations, and will include details like the number of dressings changed every day. They will be presented to the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infections (IATF-EID) and the DOH National Immunization Technical Advisory Group. The IATF-EID and the DOH-National Technical Advisory Group on Immunization will review and approve these guidelines before they are finalized.

In this category, drones with the class identification labels C0 and C1 are permitted to fly within a distance of 50 metres from people who are not involved. This is a relatively low-risk subcategory, however, strict precautions must still be taken to mitigate incidents. Drones that do not fall in either A1 or A2 must have passed an additional test of knowledge in order to operate in this subcategory.

This test is designed to test your understanding of the additional risks that are associated from flying drones in close proximity to people. The certificate of competence is issued after successful completion of this test. The operator must maintain a minimum distance of 30 metres between the aircraft and any uninvolved persons or 5 metres when flying in slow-flight mode.

You must take an amount of lessons to pass the theory test, and then the practical test. This depends on your age, capabilities and the level of learning. A minimum of 12 90-minute lessons must be completed.

In these classes, you will become familiar with your vehicle and traffic laws. Additionally, you will get helpful tips for driving in difficult places. You should also take part in a certain number of special rides in addition to the mandatory driving lessons.

The new category E combines the classes A1 (retail), A2 (financial services and professional services), B1 (offices) A4 (restaurants/cafes) and B5 and A5 for hot food takeaway. This category also includes health/medical purposes, creches and nursery schools, as well as indoor facilities for recreation and sports. The new licensing system is expected to simplify and cut costs. It will also allow landlords to use their buildings in ways that are not currently permitted.
