The Unknown Benefits Of Motorcycle School
Motorcycle School - How to Pass a Driver's License Test

The successful completion of a motorcycle training course will often mean that you don't need to take the driver's test. The course will teach you to anticipate the movements of other drivers and to maintain a safe following distance and to ride at a safe level.

The training includes both instructor-led classroom sessions and hands-on riding time. Make sure you arrive at the right time, as tardy arrivals could cause disruption to the schedule of the class.

Classroom Instruction

The MSF Basic Rider Course is the perfect course for anyone who wishes to learn to ride a motorcycle or scooter. The class is a combination of classroom instruction and real motorcycle/scooter operation training in an off-street, controlled environment. The BRC is designed for beginner riders and can help avoid MVC's road test. It also teaches you street strategies such as maximum braking efficiency, maneuvering in tight situations, lane changes, passing and avoiding dangers.

The 5-hour ePackage 1 (eP1) is an eCourse that can be completed as a stand-alone course or as a prerequisite to the hands-on portion of the BRC. The eCourse includes interactive lessons, video clips, and graphics to help you experience the fundamentals of motorcycling. You could be eligible for insurance discounts if you successfully complete the course.

The ePackage 1 must be completed in 30 days from the beginning date of your BRC course to receive a certificate and participate in the riding skill assessment. If the eCourse isn't completed, no refund will be provided. Participants must possess a valid driver's licence to participate in the BRC.

The CLASS program is a 2 day rider training class that lets you further develop your riding skills in a safe and secure riding setting on a street legal scooter or motorcycle provided by the school. This class is taught by MSF Certified instructors and focuses on developing your confidence as well as your knowledge of the operating systems on your motorcycle or scooter. The class includes classroom instruction, riding drills and a riding skill evaluation.

The course is based on the teachings of Reg Pridmore, three-time AMA Superbike Champion and his hand-picked team of instructors. Their philosophies are the result of over 50 years of racing and riding, as well as teaching. These ideas are presented in a an easy way so that they are easy to understand and implement. The result is a more confident, skilled and safer rider.

Practice Range

A large portion of your motorcycle school will be conducted at a practice field in which you can improve and test your riding abilities in a controlled space. The site will usually be closed off to traffic so that you can practice in a safe location. Your RiderCoach will guide you through the fundamental controls of your motorcycle and the steps to follow before taking you on the range. At the end of each session on the range, your RiderCoach will score you on five skill assessment exercises that cover maneuvers with limited space, braking and cornering. If you successfully complete the riding-skills test you will be awarded a BRC Road Test Waiver Completion Card (a license waiver).

It is essential to bring your motorcycle safety gear to class- your RiderCoach will provide helmets to students who don't have them, but make sure to wear a helmet that is DOT-approved. Wear long pants made of a non-flare fabric, full-fingered gloves, ankle-high boots or shoes and eye protection.

In the course of a motorcycle safety course it is likely that you will spend approximately five hours in the classroom absorbing the fundamentals of your bike and its operation before you head out to ride around the range. Once there, your instructor will help you develop your riding skills by teaching you straight-line riding shifting and turning before gradually moving on to more complicated maneuvers, such as emergency brakes and swerving. The course will conclude with a final evaluation of your riding abilities. You'll be awarded an award and may be eligible for a discount on your motorcycle.

In many states, passing the motorcycle safety course is the only way for new riders to be licensed. Find out from your local DMV to see if a course or recommendation is required. You must enroll in an Motorcycle Safety Foundation approved program. This could be used to avoid the road test administered by the DMV.

The MSF's Basic RiderCourse is designed for beginners and can be taken in a variety of locations across the country. It combines approximately five hours of instruction in the classroom with 10 hours of riding and is the fastest route to a motorcycle license, as well as a potential insurance discount.

Feedback from Instructors

"The instructors were very knowledgeable and professional. They care about their students, and it is evident. They will teach you the fundamentals of riding a motorbike. I would strongly recommend this class to any rider of any age or level of experience."

The classroom instruction was insightful and thought-provoking. The riding instruction was a combination of both the theory and the practice, but the most memorable part was the instructor feedback. They didn't simply say "OK" they would tell you exactly what went wrong, such as, for example, "You were looking down at the handlebars" or "You did not give it enough gas" or "Your wrists were bent" or "You shifted gear too early" or "You were not pushing down on the foot peg". Then they explained to you how to fix it.

This kind of personal coaching is the cost you pay for a quality training session and the thing that sets this course apart from other. Some riders might consider this to be harsh, but in my opinion it's necessary to give the student the best chance of passing the test and being safe on the bike.

I've been to other classes in the past and there was no individual feedback from the instructor. There's no reason for instructors to have the final say on whether a student can pass a course unless they are an obvious threat or obstructing other students in the group.

I believe that any school offering moto without personalized coaching is missing an important element of their curriculum and is not worthy of the high marks they receive in student reviews. Taking the Basic RiderCourse and then continuing with private lessons is the best way to get started and going quickly and safely. Learn from an experienced instructor learn from a professional, avoid bad habits and begin riding with confidence and skills that you can use for an entire lifetime. Most states waive the written and riding license endorsement tests for graduates of a certified RiderCourse and some insurance companies offer discounts to those who complete the course.

Final Exam

During the second half of the class, you'll learn road skills, including the ability to brake and accelerate and shifting gears, turning and steering. This part of the class will last until you're able to be able to pass a riding skill evaluation. This portion of the course will determine if you will receive your motorcycle license road test waiver card. The test will cover maneuvers that the DMV driver examiner will be looking for in your license exam. It's fine if you don't pass the exam. Keep working hard and strive to be able to pass the next time.

If Karta Express Polska pass the exam, your instructor will give you a certificate of course completion which can be used to obtain a discount on insurance for motorcycles. You will also be a certified motorcycle rider and will be able to legally ride your motorcycle on the streets.

The MSF 3-wheel BRC is a research-based, action-oriented core curriculum designed to teach novice 3-wheel motorcyclists of all ages physical and mental abilities required for riding safely on the streets. The 3-WBRC consists of classroom instruction as well as two days of instruction on motorbikes specifically designed to train. The successful completion of this course qualifies you to receive a NYS DMV road test waiver for operating three-wheeled motorcycles only.

Students must be at least 16 years old and wear a motorcycle helmet that is DOT approved. Before beginning class parents or guardianship must sign an New York State Covid Release waiver and indemnification form if the student is under 18. Eye protection and sturdy riding pants are recommended. Helmets are available to borrow, or you can bring your own.

To receive your certificate of completion for your motorcycle course, you must complete the 5-hour ePackage 1 online course. The eCourse has to be completed within 30 days of the date you begin your riding course. The online eCourse has to be completed using a computer or mobile device. There will be no refunds if you enroll without having a valid driver's license.
