Built In Microwave Over Oven Tools To Enhance Your Daily Life
Benefits of a Built in Microwave Over Oven

A microwave oven that has built-in microwaves lets you cook and heat your food quickly and conveniently. GE offers a variety of designs, cooking techniques and control options to fit your kitchen's needs.

Countertop microwaves sit on the counter and plug into an outlet or outlet, while built-in models can be installed on a recessed wall or in cabinets to create an elegant, built-in appearance. These types of microwaves require professional installation.

Space Saver

The microwave is a common appliance in the kitchen, however it can also take up valuable countertop space. You can make use of counter space by moving the microwave to a different location, like a kitchen island.

One of the most popular options is an over-the-range (OTR) microwave. Tucked away neatly above your stove, this option is particularly useful in kitchens with smaller spaces where space is limited. Some OTR models also double as an air vent for your cooktop. This can help to reduce the amount of steam that builds up.

Installing best integrated microwaves integrated into your cabinetry will save you space. This can give you an elegant, integrated design that can be matched to the style, color, or finish of your kitchen appliances and cabinets. It can also create an elegant look in your kitchen. This is great for homeowners that prefer a minimalist, uncluttered look.

However installing a built-in microwave might require professional installation or a remodeling of your kitchen. Based on the layout of your home it is possible to cut out a space within an existing wall to accommodate the appliance, however, this will require proper framing and reinforcement, which should be left to experts. Built-in microwaves require ventilation to avoid overheating or damaging the appliance. According to Sam Cipiti of R. M. Tunis Kitchens and Baths in Chevy Chase, Maryland the minimum cabinet depth of a built-in oven is 15 inches. However certain manufacturers offer trim kits with up to 1 1/2 inch of extra space for ventilation.

A third option to reduce space is a microwave with a drawer that can be installed below your countertop or inside an island. This configuration is easy to access and is suitable for all users and requires less countertop space. It also helps prevent hot dishes from falling off the edge or being thrown down.

The design of the door is the final factor to consider when choosing a space-saving microwavable. There are many brands that have a swing-out, drop-down or slide-out door that opens with the same motion as other kitchen appliances, allowing you to seamlessly integrate your microwave into your cooking process. Some models have a sleek, smooth exterior that is resistant to fingerprints to give better and cleaner appearance.

Convenience

A built in microwave over oven is attractive design that is easy to clean and convenient. Contrary to countertop models, they're usually at eye level for easier accessibility and can be equipped with turntables that eliminate the need to constantly shift food from plate to plate. Additionally, built-in microwaves often come with options that increase functionality, like EasyConvection oven conversion technology and broiling elements that allow you to cook or brown food items.

In addition to saving counter space, a built in microwave that is atop an oven can boost your home's value and appeal by providing a high-end appearance that other appliances might not be in a position to match. Whether installed above your stove or in a separate cabinet these microwaves blend seamlessly into your kitchen, creating an elegant look that demonstrates you've invested in your kitchen and your home.

Built in microwave over ovens are available in a broad range of dimensions in terms of power levels, features and models to match any kitchen configuration. You can even put them under your counter in a drawer style to create a more seamless appearance that blends seamlessly into existing cabinets and requires no additional space. Designed with top-quality finishes and features These microwaves are guaranteed to complement your kitchen's aesthetic and enhance your cooking and entertaining experience.

While the benefits of a built in microwave over oven is obvious but keep in mind that they aren't as efficient as their freestanding counterparts. They may require more space to operate, depending on the place it's placed. Similarly, they aren't as portable, and you won't be able easily swap the model for a different one if you decide that you'd like a different model.

If you place your microwave above your range, you'll need a larger kitchen to accommodate the ventilation system required by this configuration. You'll need either a ducting system that directs smoke to the outside or a recirculating ventilation system that draws air through the microwave and into the home. For a smaller kitchen, consider a separate microwave built-in which can be fitted into a cabinet, wall or island.

Convenient Controls

Microwaves come with a variety of controls, based on model. Some common features include turntables, preset functions including defrosting and reheating as well as 30 second buttons. Certain models include child safety features to avoid accidental operation.

Many microwaves also have pre-programmed recipes and cooking times that make the process of making meals more efficient and less time-consuming. This feature is useful for cooks who don't know how long to heat certain foods or for those who aren't familiar with the particular cooking techniques used in different cuisines.

KitchenAid offers a range of built-in microwaves and over-therange microwaves that can be matched to your other appliances in style and finish for a seamless look. Select from stainless steel and black finishes that will complement any kitchen. These premium microwaves are boldly designed to bring professional-inspired styles into your home, and they're made with high-quality materials for a longer lifespan.

Contrary to countertop models built-in microwaves are fitted into a fixed space in your kitchen walls or cabinets for a sleek, custom appearance. They typically use the same components inside as regular countertop models, but with some exceptions. They come in a variety of sizes, with some designed to fit into a smaller space, and their exteriors may feature a door that opens in a left-to-right swing-out or drop-down style.

Some microwaves over the range, like the ones made by Whirlpool(r) and Whirlpool(r), can be used as vent hoods. They have an exhaust system built-in to vent fumes outdoors and recirculate the air. Certain microwaves have charcoal filters that eliminate odors and moisture in your kitchen.

Countertop models are installed on the kitchen counter. They don't need venting or a special installation. This makes them a good choice for those who rent their homes or save money on costly changes to their kitchens. Some options also come with trim kits to fill in the gap between your microwave and other freestanding countertop appliances like coffee pots, bread makers or toaster ovens.

Energy Efficiency

Microwaves are much more efficient at heating water and food as compared to other cooking methods. They also use less energy than stovetop ovens due to the fact that they focus the microwaves' energy on the liquid in the, rather than on heating the air or other elements surrounding it. They can also heat dishes quicker than conventional ovens. They can be placed within the upper or lower cabinets and come in modern or retro styles to fit any kitchen.

In this supplemental notification of proposed rulemaking ("SNOPR") the Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy proposes new or revised energy conservation standards for micro-wave ovens, which will save consumers money on operating costs. The Energy Policy and Conservation Act (EPCA) requires DOE to evaluate on a regular basis whether stricter standards are technologically feasible and economically justified, and if they will result in significant energy savings.

This SNOPR includes the analyses and findings that DOE conducted to assess the impact on consumers of the new or revised energy conservation standards for microwave ovens. The analysis includes a market and technology assessment and screening analysis as well as an engineering analysis and national impacts analysis.

The energy usage analysis calculates the average annual microwave oven operating hours for the sample of households. This analysis is used to calculate energy savings and other consumer analyses within this SNOPR. The analysis is built on RECS field data from a variety of regions, and takes into account the different usage patterns of microwave ovens across different households and the variations in the regional electricity prices.

To assess the effects of new or amended standards on household expenses, DOE conducted LCC analyses and PBP analyses in order to estimate the cost over time for purchasing and using a microwave oven at various levels of efficiency. The LCC and PBP calculations are built on the computer model that utilizes a Monte Carlo simulation to incorporate uncertainty and variation into the analysis.

This SNOPR includes an evaluation of the impact of new or amended standards at the national scale based on the NIA spreadsheet. The NIA model estimates the industry's net present value ("INPV") in terms of energy savings resulting from possible new or amended standards in terms of energy savings at the site and FFC energy savings.
