; HbA1c, 8.3% ± 1.7%) underwent metabolic surgery (197, Roux-en-Y gastric bypass [RYGB]; 171, one anastomosis gastric bypass [OAGB]; 437, sleeve gastrectomy [SG]; 130, SG with duodenal-jejunal bypass [SG-DJB]; and 81, single anastomosis duodenal-jejunal bypass with SG [SA-DJBSG]). The OAGB group exhibited significantly higher 1-year total weight loss (30.5%) and type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) remission (78.4%) rates than did the other groups (p < .001). The patients with higher preoperative ABCD scores exhibited higher T2DM remission rates (81.8-100% and 9.5-46.2% in ABCD score subgroups of 9-10 and 1-2, respectively). In multivariate analysis, bypass was found to be an independent predictor of T2DM remission compared with SG (odds ratio of OAGB vs SG, 3.72; RYGB vs SG, 1.96; SG-DJB vs SG, 2.73; SA-DJBSG vs SG, 2.12).

A search was performed in Embase and PubMed, and 25 papers were identified. Thirteen papers on reversal were included. Resolution of postprandial hypoglycemic symptoms occurred in 42/48 (88%) patients after reversal. Twelve papers on pancreatectomy were included. Resolution occurred in 27/50 (54%) patients after pancreatectomy. The optimal surgical treatment for intractable post-RYGB hypoglycemia has not been defined, but reversal of RYGB seems to be more effective than other treatments. Further research on etiology and long-term evaluation of surgical outcomes may refine treatment options.Colorectal cancer is one of the most common malignant tumors. The prognosis of colorectal cancer with ovarian metastasis is poor, and it is an important cause of death in female patients. A variety of clinicopathological factors were found to be related to the prognosis of patients with colorectal cancer with ovarian metastasis, such as menopausal status, metastasis limited to the pelvis, and tumor differentiation. Tumor genetic characteristics also provide a new perspective for the prognostic evaluation of colorectal cancer with ovarian metastasis. The prognosis of ovarian metastasis is also closely associated with treatment. The major treatment methods are prophylactic oophorectomy, surgical resection of the primary and metastatic lesions, cytoreductive surgery combined with hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy and systematic therapy. If feasible, complete surgical resection of the primary and ovarian metastatic macroscopic lesions combined with postoperative chemotherapy might currently be the most effective treatment for improving the prognosis of patients with colorectal cancer with ovarian metastasis. Beyond route of administration as a treatment-related factor of immunogenicity, certain product-related risk factors are particularly relevant to subcutaneously administered proteins. This review attempts to provide an overview of the mechanism of immune response toward proteins administered subcutaneously (subcutaneous proteins) and comments on product-related risk factors related to protein structure and stability, dosage form, and aggregation. A two-wave mechanism of antigen presentation in the immune response toward subcutaneous proteins is described, and interaction with dynamic antigen-presenting cells possessing high antigen processing efficiency and migratory activity may drive immunogenicity. Mitigation strategies for immunogenicity are discussed, including those in general use clinically and those currently in development. Mechanistic insights along with consideration of risk factors involved inspire theoretical strategies to provide antigen-specific, long-lasting effects for maintaining the safety and efficacy of therapeutic proteins.

The purpose of this review is to examine the latest research on patient education for anterior knee pain. We will focus on how we might use patient education to increase the adoption of other efficacious treatment modalities and offer some suggestions for content and form of effective patient education.

New research suggests that patient education, alone, or in combination with targeted exercise therapy, can be effective in reducing pain and improving function in patients with patellofemoral pain. Addressing non-physical or psychological factors may also be an important component of patient education in many patients with chronic pain. Incorporation of new technologies into patient education, such as those available online, or through phone- or tablet-based apps, is likely to be helpful in the future, as we move more towards connecting with patients virtually. Patient education has been shown to be effective in decreasing pain and improving activity in patients with patellofemoral pain.
