Size
A built-in microwave and wall oven combo is a perfect solution for kitchens of all kinds. It is a combination of the convenience of a microwave with the flexibility of wall ovens. Explore our entire selection of combination microwaves and wall ovens to find the best option for your home. Be sure to read the cutout specifications and the installation guide for the appliance you choose to ensure it will work in your space. Our microwave and oven sets include both oven and microwave models with a variety of styles, colors and finishes that will complement any decor. Also, look out for features like intelligent and easy-to-use electronic controls, a power-cook feature and built-in self-cleaning options to help you save time.
Convenience
A built-in microwave oven combo can save space on your kitchen counters and add a sleek look to your space. Because it functions as a microwave and traditional oven, you can heat up leftovers, frozen meals and pre-packaged meals all in one appliance. It also eliminates the need for a separate countertop appliance or the bulky wall oven that is a stand-alone unit. If you want to upgrade your home without having to do major remodeling, a microwave and a convection oven is a great choice.
Microwave oven combos are available in different styles to suit your kitchen decor. Some come with a swing-out right-to-left door, while others feature a drop-down design that opens in the same manner as a traditional oven. You can also get a microwave-oven combo that opens in a drawer, similar to a cabinet. Microwave drawers are easy to reach and are ideal for small spaces where you need to minimize the use of counter space.
Combination microwaves can also provide various features that help make meal prep easier and more practical. Some models feature the option of a sensor steam mode that alters the temperature and time of your food automatically to ensure you get perfect steaming of your fish and vegetables. Other features include the broil element which lets you quickly melt cheese and cook your favorite food. Crispwave(tm) in turn can cook, grill, and crisp food.
When choosing a microwave oven combination, be sure to think about how often you'll be using each function. If you'll use the oven component of your combo more than the microwave, you might be better off using an oven with two walls instead. It's also important to note that a combo oven typically has less capacity than a conventional standalone oven.
Once you've selected the best microwave and oven combo for your needs, it's time to think about how you will install it. Over-the-range models can be positioned over the stove or cooktop and connect to an electrical outlet, whereas built-in microwaves are inserted directly into the cabinets or walls of your kitchen. Some models even have trim kits that allow you to effortlessly integrate your new microwave into your kitchen cabinets.
Energy Efficiency
A built in microwave oven combo is an excellent space-saving option for those who have smaller kitchens, whether they live in a home or apartment. They can help to save cabinet space that would otherwise be taken up by two separate appliances and they can also help to reduce energy consumption. They usually provide the most efficient cooking method than traditional wall ovens, since they consume less energy. They can also be used to cook food and warm meals. This means that there is less need for other appliances like toasters or warming plates.
When evaluating potential amended energy conservation standards, DOE conducts several analyses, including market and technology assessment screening analysis, engineering analysis, and a national impact analysis (NIA). In this SNOPR, DOE will utilize its engineering analysis of microwave ovens to determine what level of efficiency improvements are feasible for this particular product.
In the engineering analysis, DOE will compare the design parameters of a microwave with a set of energy performance objectives. The engineering analysis will then determine the maximum improvement in energy efficiency that is technologically feasible based on the most advanced microprocessor-controlled model available on the market or in working prototypes, or the maximum reduction in energy consumption that is technically achievable with the current technologies available for this product class.
As part of the NIA, DOE will evaluate the effects on consumers for each product class, including lifecycle cost savings, and simple payback periods ("PBP"). DOE will utilize the Government Regulatory Impact Model, with an adaptation for microwavable ovens to calculate the industry net present value (NPV).
DOE will also examine the impacts on manufacturers, and will use an industry-specific cash flow model specifically tailored to this type of product to estimate manufacturing NPV. DOE will also look at the effects of these proposals on small-scale businesses as well as other subgroups of manufacturers to identify those who are likely to be affected.
In addition, DOE will consider whether the test procedures for microwave ovens need to be revised to include active mode energy use as well as an active mode energy use metric. The current test procedures only cover the use of standby mode power.
Design
Microwaves create heat through the process of causing water molecules to vibrate in food. Wall ovens rely upon the circulation of hot air, while microwaves rely on waves to cause food molecules to vibrate. integrated combination microwave combine these two different appliances into a single unit that can be used to save kitchen space and provides an elegant, modern look. But you need to carefully consider your goals and budget before purchasing a combination wall oven. Some of the combination ovens we reviewed have design or performance issues.
