The One Exam Schedule A1 Mistake Every Beginner Makes
Goethe-Zertifikat A1 (Start German 1) Exam Schedule

The official list below lists reserved time periods, not exams that have been confirmed. Please confirm with your instructor if the final exam for the course will be scheduled during this time.

Be sure to read the Goethe exam rules and conditions and guidelines on each exam's page prior to making a decision to register. Make sure you register for the appropriate level of exam.

Locations

The Exam Schedule lists locations where DEP conducts operator certification exams. Please refer to the exam pages for more details on exam content, exam rules and conditions, and additional guidelines. If you require special accommodations due to a chronic illness or visual or hearing impairment, contact the exam provider directly. Make sure to provide a detailed document upon registration.

The Faculty Dashboard in Workday has a "View My Teaching Schedule", which allows faculty to find their exam schedules. The Registrar's Office also has a list of exam times for courses that are required to be tested under NYSED regulations. For evening classes final exams are scheduled during the normal class time during the week of exams.

Please take note that the Projected University Examination Schedule is intended as a rough guideline and that exam dates are subject to change.

Registration

The exam schedule is accessible online, and students are advised to look it up. However it is crucial to note that the exam schedule can change at any time. For this reason, students should consult with their instructors to ensure that they have the correct date and time for their test. Students should also print the official list to bring with them to the exam.

In addition to the exam schedule, students should also familiarize themselves with the exam guidelines, the terms and conditions. They are available on the individual exam pages. Students acknowledge that they have read and accepted the conditions and terms of registration.

Exam locations try their best to accommodate those with special requirements. The nature and severity of these needs should be declared on the registration form and verified by an attestation of a doctor. The locations for the exam must respect and maintain confidentiality.

If a student has three examinations scheduled for the same day it is recommended to contact their department or instructor to schedule an alternate exam. While it is possible to take three exams in one day, it could result in an increase in stress levels and could affect the quality of the exam. The professor may not be able to offer an additional test to make up for the missed day.

Students should review the course material prior to taking the exam and practice their German skills. The exam is a paper-based test that assesses the ability to speak, read and write in German. The results of the examination are presented using a scale ranging from A1 to C2. Students who pass the exam receive the Goethe-Zertifikat. The certificate certifies the that they have achieved the level of A1 in their language. This level corresponds to the initial stage of the six-level scale of competence laid down in the Common European Framework of Reference for Foreign Languages. The test is free of cost. Students must bring a valid government-issued ID to the test. If they do not present an ID with a valid photo will be disqualified from taking the examination.

kartaxpresspoland must pay an examination fee if you wish to receive the Goethe-Zertifikat (start German 1) after you have completed your Elan Academy studies. This is in addition to the cost of the course.

Practice assessments give you an overview of the style of the questions, their wording and the level of questions on the exam. They allow you to assess your knowledge, identify gaps and increase your chances of acing the exam.

Please be aware that the fee for exams is non-refundable. Exam results can only be received by email and not by phone.
