Eighty-Seven Successive Sleeve Gastrectomies Backward and forward Highs from the Covid-19 Pandemic. A great Opening-Phase Expertise.
The United Kingdom, like many countries, is strongly impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. The vaccination campaign was launched last December. Ghislaine Young, a nurse, and Jim Hodgson, a general practitioner, both retired, are offering their services as vaccinators to help fight this epidemic. By the end of Febuary 2021, more than 20 million people had already been vaccinated.Suicide is not the inevitable outcome of a suicidal crisis. The people concerned are most often sensitive to preventive actions, which can prevent them from committing self-destructive acts. Preventing the suicidal crisis and suicide requires the involvement of healthcare professionals. It is also everyone's business.Knowing how to assess the suicidal risk of people in crisis, knowing how to orient them, welcome them, treat them and look after them are the keys to these multidisciplinary health care.In the vast majority of cases, people who commit suicide do so alone. 4SC-202 mouse Exceptionally, suicides can be carried out by mutual agreement between two or more people. These are called suicide pacts. The motivations and operating methods of these rare acts are multiple.France has recently recorded approximately 9,000 to 10,000 suicides and 200,000 suicide attempts per year with regional, age and gender disparities. Men commit suicide more than women, while women make more attempts than men.Nearly 5% of the general population experiences a suicidal crisis every year in France. It is essential for any caregiver to learn to recognize it and intervene appropriately. This crisis most often occurs in a context of stress combined with individual vulnerability factors that causes the individual to lose their balance. The clinical presentation for suicidal crisis vary from one subject to another. It is usually fluctuating and temporary. The subject does not want to die; he wants to stop suffering. The suicidal act is the dreaded but not systematic outcome of the suicidal crisis. Here we will set out the general principles of the assessment of the suicidal crisis.
This study investigated the psychometric properties of the Cognitive Emotion Regulation Questionnaire in a Tunisian Arabic-Speaking population.

The CERQ original version was translated and back-translated and then administrated to 360 participants. Afterwards, using the explanatory and confirmatory factor analysis, we studied the latent factor structure for CERQ. The internal consistency of the subscales was assessed by Cronbach's alfa coefficients, and the test-retest and interscale reliability were assessed with Pearson correlations. The criterion validity was also examined using correlations between the CERQ subscales and both the Beck Depression Inventory (BDI) and State-Trait Anxiety Inventory (STAI) scales at first evaluation and at a one year follow-up.

The Tunisian version was quite satisfactory with the nine-factor structure, as in the original CERQ. Moreover, all validity and reliability measures were comparable to the original CERQ.

The present study is the first work devoted to a Tunisian adaptation of the CERQ. Our findings highlight that the Tunisian version is both reliable and valid for the measurement of cognitive emotion regulation strategies.

Despite the ubiquity of sleep disturbance in schizophrenia, it has generally been overlooked as a potential contributor to cognitive impairments. The main aim of this study was to find out if impaired sleep quality contributes to cognitive impairments in patients with a diagnosis of schizophrenia who are in remission.

The study was conducted at the University College Hospital, Ibadan and State Hospital, Ibadan, Nigeria. The Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI) and Screen for Cognitive Impairment in Psychiatry (SCIP) were applied in this cross-sectional study, to all consecutive and consenting remitted outpatients with schizophrenia (N=130). Other instruments such as Hamilton Depression Rating Scale (HDRS), the Positive and Negative Syndrome Scale (PANSS), sociodemographic and clinical measures were also applied.

There were 130 participants made up of 69 females (53.1%) and 61males(46.9%). The mean age of the participants was 38.5±9.1 years. The prevalence of poor sleep quality in remitted patients with schizophrenia was 56.9%. Sleep quality was significantly negatively correlated with Verbal Learning Test-Immediate (VLT-I) (r(128)=-.18, P=.044) and Verbal Learning Test-Delayed (VLT-D) (r(128)=-.18, P=.037). The variables that independently predicted cognitive functioning were the VLT-I, odds ratio (OR) 0.66; 95% confidence interval ((CI) 0.49-0.88) and education (OR) 0.61;(CI) 0.40- 0.92).

Poor subjective sleep quality measured by the PSQI is linked to cognitive impairment in remitted patients with schizophrenia. We suggest that sleep quality in remitted patients with a diagnosis of schizophrenia should receive better attention by physicians.

Inadequately treated, these comorbid conditions affect patient rehabilitation, compliance with treatment and quality of life. Their management poses a major challenge given the variable efficacy and safety profiles of available psychotropic drugs and increased risk of drug interaction. This review aims to summarize the existing literature on the prescription of psychotropic drugs for management of psychiatric disorders among persons with central nervous system's diseases.Autobiographical memory (AM) (i.e., memory for personal information) is a unique form of memory that goes beyond recalling information such as what, where and when of an event, to include what that event means and why it is important to our life story. This paper therefore reviews the available literature on AM in Korsakoff syndrome (KS). It summarizes the characteristics of AM disorders in KS patients. These disorders are mainly characterized by the difficulties that patients with KS have in retrieving and reliving specific AMs and in retrieving recent and remote memories. Another core characteristic of AM disorders in KS is confabulations. This paper hypothesizes that patients with KS may produce autobiographical confabulations to support their objectives and beliefs or even to answer a social demand or simply to share personal experiences with others. Although the current evidence demonstrates disorders of AM in KS, there is a need for more research about the characteristics of these disorders. This review thus proposes several perspectives for theoretical and clinical research.
