Fortalecieron a los discípulos, animándolos a permanecer en la fe, y diciendo: “Tenemos que entrar en el reino de Dios a través de muchas tribulaciones” (Hech. 14:22).
A primera vista, esa declaración pudiera parecer extraña. Al fin y al cabo, la perspectiva de sufrir “muchas tribulaciones” no es muy animadora. ¿Cómo es posible, entonces, que Pablo y Bernabé fortalecieran a los discípulos con un mensaje que les anunciaba más dificultades? Para entenderlo, examinemos con cuidado las palabras de Pablo. No se limitó a decir: “Tenemos que aguantar muchas tribulaciones”. Más bien, dijo: “Tenemos que entrar en el reino de Dios a través de muchas tribulaciones”. Así pues, fortaleció a los discípulos centrándose en el resultado de su fidelidad. La recompensa no era una simple ilusión. De hecho, Jesús había declarado: “El que haya aguantado hasta el fin es el que será salvo” (Mat. 10:22). Si aguantamos, recibiremos una recompensa. Pero, como Pablo señaló, mientras tanto tenemos que sufrir muchas tribulaciones. w14 15/9 2:4-6
