The Holocaust happened on January 30, 1933 and ended May 8, 1945. About 36 years later another monstrosity happened. This is known today as The Mayan Genocide. The Mayan Genocide took place on 1981 and ended at about 1983. Both targeted a specific race, but also killed others. The Holocaust targeted Jews and the Mayan Genocide targeted Mayans. The Holocaust was led by the well known person, Adolf Hitler. He was born on April 20, 1889 in Braunau am Inn, Austria. The Mayan Genocide was led by Efraín Ríos Montt whom was born on June 16, 1926 in Huehuetenango, Guatemala. The Mayan Genocide and the Holocaust were both similar and different in many ways. They were both horrific crimes on humanity, were both led by evil people and much more. Though very similar, they had there differences like the reasons for the mass murder, the time periods, the amount that died, and, once again, so much more.
