Best Robot Vacuum and Mop Combos

Robot vacuums and mop are becoming more capable. They pass our cleaning tests, and are able to handle various flooring. Look for models that allow you to choose from a variety of modes, and use their charging docks to automatically empty and clean up stairs.

Many of the best models are compatible with smartphones. Look for an app that allows you to save maps, schedules and choose cleaning modes.

1. Eufy Omni S1 Pro

Eufy's gunmetal-and gloss black Omni S1 Pro is one of the most impressive robot vacuums and mop combos on the market. It makes use of lidar to navigate and creates maps of rooms and floors.

When I tested the S1, it was quick to locate our downstairs, which is home to Linoleum flooring in the kitchen/dining room and bathrooms, along with medium-pile carpeting and a large area rug. It was able to drive close to walls without colliding with them, and was able to cross thresholds that were raised in the room without problem, although it sometimes was unable to navigate down the stairs in one pass. The S1 also did an excellent job of cleaning hard floors by dragging its mop smoothly on its flat side against the floor and lifting its own weight when it reaches carpet or carpet.

Prior to each mopping session the docking station of the S1 automatically emptys its dust bin and fills up its water tank onboard with filtered, clean water ozonated. The mops can also be cleaned with heated water, and dried in the basestation when required. The mops are also filled from the top of the base station when needed.

3. Dreame X40 Ultra

Dreame's X30 Ultra robot vacuum and mop was launched earlier this year. But their new flagship model has even more impressive features. It boasts fantastic cleaning results and hands-off maintenance making it a top contender for our best mop and robot vacuum list. Its superior mapping capabilities, RGB AI smart detection, and an expanded side brush ensure that an effective, customized cleaning is achieved.

The X40 Ultra does an excellent job of vacuuming and removing large and small particles from both hard floors and carpets. It also cleaned the most soiled areas efficiently, while avoiding tangled pet hairs and other mess. The sweeping power of the machine is boosted by a sidebrush that automatically swings out in order to get into areas that are difficult to reach and mop pads that run along baseboards.

Its navigation system is nimble, navigating small spaces and negotiating stairways without skipping a step. It can move from one room to another without having to reverse direction which is a great feature for larger homes with many rooms. Its obstacle avoidance system is less advanced than that of some competitors, and leaves a huge margin between obstacles. This can result in missed spots.

The Q5 is one of the few robots we tested that didn't have any issues with high-pile carpets or area carpets, but it didn't pick up cat litter or cable tangles and cable tangles, which isn't a surprise given that it doesn't have AI-powered obstacle avoidance.
