The direction of management and outcome of frozen thawed embryo transfer (FET) is becoming different day by day with the invention of newer technologies and application of it as a treatment modality in modern medicine. It also contributes to around 25% of births because of Assisted Reproductive Technology (ART) procedures worldwide today.
A prospective longitudinal study was conducted at ART Center of tertiary care hospital. Couples with infertility planned to undergo FET were included in the study. Following FET, all positive cases were followed up till 14 weeks period of gestation. Data were collected and analyzed with appropriate statistical test using Epitable, 6.04 version, and SPSS, version 18, software.
During the study period, a total of 470 FET cycles were carried out, and 1108 cryopreserved embryos were subjected to thawing procedure. Overall survival rate of 93.86% was noted. Among various stages of embryos thawed, the lowest survival rate (64.62%) was found in blastocyst group. Biochemical pregnancy rate, clinical pregnancy rate, and ongoing pregnancy rate were also analyzed in different subgroup of transferred embryos. The blastocyst group showed best implantation and clinical pregnancy rate but lowest survival rate among all subgroup of embryos.
The blastocyst transfer during FET cycle showed best clinical and ongoing pregnancy rate. So if clinical situations were favorable for blastocyst stage transfer, the same should be preferred for FET cycle.

Formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tissue is the gold standard procedure for tissue preservation. However, the extraction of DNA is a cumbersome procedure as the extracted DNA is fragmented because of the cross-linking effect of formalin. Hence, the aim of the present study is to extract DNA from FFPE tissues using different techniques with a specific objective of comparing the extracted DNA, both quantitatively and qualitatively.
Ten samples of FFPE tissues were retrieved from the archives of the Department of Oral Pathology. Total genomic DNA was extracted by different methods which included QIAamp DNA FFPE Tissue Kit, Norgen DNA FFPE Tissue Kit, phenol-chloroform method, mineral oil-based extraction, M/10 NaOH solution method, and microwave method. A 280-base pair sequence was selected for evaluation of downstream amplification.
The statistical analysis was performed using unpaired student's t-test to compare the DNA yields and quality obtained by microwave methods with other methods using SPSS software. Total genomic DNA retrieved by the microwave method was superior to other methods both qualitatively and quantitatively.
DNA extraction from FFPE tissues is an onerous task as irreversible bonds form between the nucleic acid during fixation which are difficult to break during DNA retrieval. Hence, the microwave method provides good total genomic DNA which gives better downstream results when compared with other methods.

Pseudoexfoliative material is being implicated in causing tear film abnormalities, and the aim of the present study was to prove it and to compare with the normal healthy participants.
A total of 398 eyes of 200 participants were studied, and two groups were formed. The first, pseudoexfoliation syndrome (PEXS) group, included 198 eyes of 100 patients, and the second, age-matched control group, included 200 eyes of 100 participants. Tear film abnormalities were compared in the two groups by tear meniscus height (TMH), Schirmer test I, Schirmer test IIand tear film break-up time (TBUT).
On comparing the two groups using independent t-test, a significant difference was found in Schirmer test I, Schirmer test II, and TBUT between the PEXS group (Schirmer test I 23.98±10.68mm, Schirmer test II 17.11±8.78mm, and TBUT 9.778±5.54s) and the age-matched control group (Schirmer test I 27.08±9.58mm, Schirmer test II 19.98±8.48mm, and TBUT 13.495±5.65s) (p=0.003 [Schirmer test I]; p=0.001 [Schirmer test II]; and p<0.001 [TBUT]). However, an insignificant difference was found in terms of TMH (p=0.195) between the two groups.
PEXS affects tear production and leads to unstable tear film.

A workplace is any location, permanent or temporary, where an employee performs work-related duty. selleck chemical Workplace violence includes threats, beating, stabbing, shooting, psychological trauma, suicides, near suicides, and harassment of any kind. We can see slow changes in attitude of care providers when they encounter violent behavior and incidents. It is a world-wide issue. Of late, in developing countries where out of pocket payment mode is the main healthcare financing option for a family, the medical professionals are being demonized as professional pick-pocketers by few sections of the society. Hence, we explored to garner opinion of the employees regarding what constitutes violence in hospital settingand identified the factors among doctors, nurses, environmental duty workers, which are contributing towardwork-place violence by patients and visitors. The aim was to improve the work environment for healthcare givers.
Descriptive, cross-sectional study with a close-ended questionnaire under sections of physo be addressed independently by administrators. The hospital has training programs to nurses on customer relationship management, interpersonal relations trainings.
Iatrogenic femoral pseudoaneurysm (false aneurysm) due to arterial access following cardiovascular procedures is becoming common because of the increase in number and complexity of the procedures. Recently, percutaneous thrombin injection is becoming a popular treatment of these false aneurysms. The aim of this study was to assess the efficacy and safety of femoral pseudoaneurysm closure using ultrasound-guided thrombin injection in comparison to ultrasound-guided compression.
A retrospective analysis was undertaken of 65 patients who presented to our vascular department with iatrogenic femoral pseudoaneurysm between January 2015 and March 2019. Twenty-five patients underwent ultrasound-guided thrombin injection, and 40 were treated using ultrasound-guided compression therapy. The primary outcome measured was efficacy, while other outcomes examined were safety, procedure duration, and cost.
A total of 65 patients (45 males, 20 female) were identified with a mean age of 62 years. Out of the 65, 40 patients (28 males, 12 female) underwent ultrasound-guided compression therapy (group A) with a mean aneurysm size of 2.
