10 Quick Tips For Best Robot Vacuum That Mops
The Best Robot Vacuum That Mops

Noah Pinsonnault is a product review analyst for the Home Care and Cleaning Lab at Good Housekeeping.

He reviews and tests cleaning equipment, focusing on robot vacuums and mopping combos. These multitaskers are an excellent option for those looking to take mopping off their to-do list. Some models have superior mapping capabilities and obstacle avoidance. Some even wash and refill mopping pads for a hands-free clean.

The Eufy S1 Pro

This is the model you should pick if you are looking for an automatic vacuum cleaner that can also mop. It's smaller than other options and makes it more maneuverable in tight corners or under furniture. It has a 220 degree Lidar that, combined with the 3D Matrix Camera System, provides one of my top navigation and avoidance capabilities I've seen in a robotic vacuum. It's got a battery of 4600mAh that can last for up to 170 minutes when cleaning and sucking are set to standard mode. (It can run longer on turbo). It will even return to its dock to replenish its battery mid-clean.

It's efficient and does a great job of cleaning my two bedroom apartment. It cleans the carpeted rooms incredibly quickly and hardwood floors in the hallways, and living room in a single pass. Its 8,000pa suction motor is quick at picking up dirt, crumbs, and pet hair. Carpet detection boosts power automatically when it comes in contact with carpets and the dual side brushes help pull out debris from corners.

The mopping efficiency, while still impressive, is not as impressive. The mop's rotating motor spins at a high rate and pushes down with 2.2lbs of force, effortlessly scrubbing up dirt and stains. I've also noticed that the front arms stick out slightly more than other robots, which is helpful to get into tight corners and along baseboards. The same front arms can also be used to scoop up larger pieces of debris, like books and broken toys.

Another good thing is that the S1 Pro is one of the quietest robot vacuums and mops I've ever tried. It is quieter and doesn't produce more noise when vacuuming or mopping. The only drawback is that the S1 Pro must use a exclusive cleaning solution for its mopping function and is sold separately from the vacuum. It's simple to set up and is effective however this is something that you'll need to keep an eye on when you purchase this vacuum for the sole purpose of it mopping.

The Roborock Q Revo

The Q Revo stands apart from the majority of robot vacuums which mops in its class. It has a robust suite of features that make it an ideal choice for homeowners who want an efficient, flexible and ad-hoc cleaning machine.

The device comes with an extremely powerful and impressive cleaning system that combines LiDAR sensors with an RGB camera to map the house and identify furniture and other obstacles. This information can be used to clean effectively and efficiently. This will result in a thorough, consistent clean that is also quite quick.

In terms of mopping, the Q Revo's DuoRoller mop pads can reach a wide range of surface areas. This includes baseboards, corners and other difficult to reach areas. They also have a flexible side brush that extends to reach the floor close to walls and other fixtures. In addition, the mop pads can be dried and washed to prevent the build-up of dust and reduce the smell.

Another notable feature is the customizable options available via apps. The Q Revo lets you adjust the suction level and select an back-and-forth or random pattern. You can also set the number of passes it should make, which will determine how fast the device will move through your home. You can also deactivate the side brush to prevent damage to carpets and rugs.

This device is expensive but has many smart features. It is important to remember that the device will incur regular expenses, such as mopping supplies as well as regular maintenance. For example the brushroll has to be replaced after 300 hours or every six to twelve months. The filter should be cleaned after 150 hours, and the mop pad needs to be replaced every one to three months.

This robotic vacuum cleaner is rated highly on Amazon and offers a wide variety of physical automation features. The robot vacuum also has a power button which doubles as the 'Clean button' and a Home' button to send it back home after cleaning. It also comes with a multifunctional dock which automatically empty the dustbin, refills its water tank and washes and dry its mop pads.

The Shark Matrix Plus

The Shark Matrix Plus will be an ideal option for busy professionals or anyone who wants to keep their home neat without spending too much time on chores. It is a powerful machine with smart navigation, and a long battery life that makes it easy to keep your home clean with minimal effort.

The Matrix Plus is a 2-in-1 robot vacuum and mop which means it is able to handle mopping and vacuuming. The robot is divided into two parts which include a dry bin and water tank that can be snapped in and out and a mopping unit that has a microfiber pad. It's not the most modern thing to have separate modules for mopping and vacuuming however it does mean you don't need to worry about changing out disposable bags or refilling the tank with water.

Our test subjects discovered that the Matrix Plus did a great job of vacuuming and mopping. Its best feature was its accurate map of your floorplan, which it uses to draw a route when cleaning. The Matrix Plus was able to navigate between rugs, furniture, and other obstacles. The app lets you create 'No-Go Zones' as well as virtual barriers that prevent certain areas from being cleaned by mopping.

We also discovered that the Matrix Plus did surprisingly well in picking up hair of pets. It was able to capture the majority of hair our cats shed and even found its way into the nooks and crannies of our stairs, where other robots struggled. The noise levels of the robot were low and there were lovely jingles that let you know that it was in the process of finishing its work.

The app was too simple and you had to alter the modules each time you changed between mops and vacuuming. The app can't save multiple maps. This can be a problem if your home has a variety of floors. The Matrix Plus robot is a excellent choice for those who are looking for a smart device that can vacuum and mop.

more info X1 Omni

The X1 Omni robot vacuum is the most expensive in our review. It does however, have certain unique features that are worth a look. The X1 Omni is most notable for its enormous dock that doubles as an charging base for the robot, a sink for cleaning and two water tanks that are 4 liters in size. It also houses the 2.5-liter dustbin and a 2.5 dust bin that is 2.5 liters.

The base also has a number of buttons to control the system. These allow you to manually start cleaning and then recall the robot or start the dock's auto-emptying process. Press two of the buttons to turn off a child lock which is a great option for parents concerned about kids tinkering with the vacuum.

Like other robotic vacuums, the Omni Omni utilizes its camera to detect furniture and obstacles in its path and eliminate them. True Mapping 2.0 navigation maps your home up to four times faster than laser detection systems.

This can cause the X1 to get stuck if it is entangled in a hazard like a power cable draped over a rug. It won't work until you untangle it manually. While this was rare but it was a very frustrating experience when it did happen particularly since the X1 Omni doesn't have an "stuck" status alert on its application.

The X1 Omni cannot automatically switch from mopping mode to vacuuming mode during a cleaning session. You'll need to manually swap between the two, which isn't an issue aside from the fact that mopping pads haven't been cleaned and dried between use which could lead to mildew or mold.

The X1 Omni looks great, thanks to the Jacob Jensen design team (of Bang & Olufsen fame) who designed its sleek, modern base and mopping pad. It's a significant departure from the utilitarian, all-black bases used by competitors like Roborock and iRobot, and a welcome view in a market which is dominated by clunky boxy models.
