What was Alex's personality like?

What was Alex's intelligence?

He believed that you can achieve greatness if you don't worry about what other people think.

He was also capable of counting up to six sets of objects and displayed math skills that were quite advanced at the time for birds.


He was also able to communicate with other animals by using a sign language, and he was able to comprehend grammar. He used the method of training known as "rival model," which involved two trainers demonstrating to the bird what they wanted it to learn. The trainers would often switch positions to allow the bird to interact with them and receive attention from both.

After the success of Free Solo, Alex was awarded the status of National Hero by President Barack Obama in 2014. Alex was able achieve so much in his lifetime because of his determination to character and his desire to live life on his terms.
