Using metagenomic RNA sequencing, a novel strain of enterovirus B, strain PC06, was identified, and its genome sequence was determined by RT-PCR and Sanger sequencing. The viral genome sequence was most similar to that of echovirus E18 strain E18-HeB15-54498/HeB/CHN/2015 (GenBank accession MG720261), with 87.73% nucleotide sequence identity, while the viral proteins shared 96.98% amino acid sequence identity with those of E18 strain Jena/AN1365/10 (GenBank accession no. KX139452). Phylogenetic analysis based on the VP1 and 3D genes revealed discrepant placement of PC06 in the two trees. In the 3D tree, PC06 formed a separate branch together with other recombinant E18 strains. Further recombination tests revealed that PC06 had possibly undergone recombination at a site between the structural and non-structural regions during its evolutionary history. Based on the analysis of VP1 phylogeny and using online genotyping tools, this potential recombinant is tentatively considered a strain of echovirus 18. This information might contribute to the diagnosis and prevention of related diseases.Motor executions alter sensory processes. Studies have shown that loudness perception changes when a sound is generated by active movement. However, it is still unknown where and how the motor-related changes in loudness perception depend on the task demand of motor execution. We examined whether different levels of precision demands in motor control affects loudness perception. We carried out a loudness discrimination test, in which the sound stimulus was produced in conjunction with the force generation task. We tested three target force amplitude levels. The force target was presented on a monitor as a fixed visual target. The generated force was also presented on the same monitor as a movement of the visual cursor. Participants adjusted their force amplitude in a predetermined range without overshooting using these visual targets and moving cursor. In the control condition, the sound and visual stimuli were generated externally (without a force generation task). We found that the discrimination performance was significantly improved when the sound was produced by the force generation task compared to the control condition, in which the sound was produced externally, although we did not find that this improvement in discrimination performance changed depending on the different target force amplitude levels. The results suggest that the demand for precise control to produce a fixed amount of force may be key to obtaining the facilitatory effect of motor execution in auditory processes.Rodent open field behavior is highly organized and occurs spontaneously in novel environments. This organization is disrupted in mice with vestibular pathology, suggesting vestibular signals provide important contributions to this behavior. A caveat to this interpretation is that previous studies have investigated open field behavior in adult mice with congenital vestibular dysfunction, and the observed deficits may have resulted from developmental changes instead of the lack of vestibular signals. To determine which aspects of open field behavior depend specifically on vestibular signals, mouse movement organization was examined under dark and light conditions at two time points, 1 and 2 months, after bilateral chemical labyrinthectomy. Our results show that acquired vestibular damage selectively disrupted the organization of open field behavior. Access to visual environmental cues attenuated, but did not eliminate, these significant group differences. Improvement in movement organization from the first to the second testing session was limited to progression path circuity. These observations provide evidence for the role of the vestibular system in maintaining spatial orientation and establishes a foundation to investigate neuroplasticity in brain systems that process self-movement information.Combined with the prime paradigm, the present study aimed to explore the influence of emotion (anger, fear, happiness, and neutral) on performing multiplication estimation. Participants were asked to complete a two-digit multiplication estimation task using the down-up strategy (e.g., doing 20 × 80 = 1600 for 24 × 79). Behavioral results showed that the reaction time for completing multiplication estimation tasks under happy conditions was shorter than for those under anger and fear, and it was shorter under neutral than under fearful conditions. The ERP results showed that about 100 ms after multiplication estimation task onset, multiplication estimation execution in the context of happiness (vs. neutral) elicited smaller P1 amplitudes; about 170 ms after multiplication estimation task onset, the N170 amplitudes elicited by multiplication estimation strategy execution under different emotional priming conditions showed no significant differences. The above results showed that the impact of emotion priming demonstrates the occurrence of a dynamic process when participants use a specified strategy to complete the multiplication estimation task.
